Good hostel, very well located near two large Gaudi houses.

Location was amazing, staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent and the price was very good. Definitely recommended.

Okay location and one front desk guy was helpful but that's about it. Reserved 2 beds in one room, upon check in were told that both rooms were full and we were getting separate rooms… both rooms had empty beds in the morning. Paid for laundry and asked if it was possible to be completed by 5am (gave laundry at 10am morning before, you give them a bag or laundry for them to do). Our bag was the only laundry that was out at the front desk all day, so at 5am when we checked out we got handed a bag of wet laundry to keep in our suit case for 8 hours. Sheets weren't ever changed for the week we stayed. Bathrooms and showers were disgusting. Definitely never staying again, not worth the frustration. And the house keeling came in every morning at 8 and opened all the windows and curtains in the room… so don't intend on sleeping in.

Mediocre Hostal with rooms for over 10 beds.
Not ideal for overnight stays of more than 2 days. Could not rest due to check in even at 2 o'clock at night.

Unbeatable location, just 3 minutes walk from the Metro/train "Paseo de Gracia", "Casa Batlló". The Hostel has a nice décor, antique ambience style. The bathrooms are clean and comfortable, including showers. Clean sheets and they don't charge extras for them. There is a fridge, microwave, coffee and soda machines, a dining room, very nice and another space with sofas and television. Besides smoking area outside. They offer breakfast for €3, from 8:00.30 Hrs. The room has lockers to put padlock, plug in Csda bed. I recommend 100% this Hostel. ☑ ️

Not really a hostel spirit, but good relief place for its price. Count full of extra fees for each of the small services.

One of the best hostel I ever found with common area availability. Sofas are kept on the corridors to sit and relax. Kitchen is available too if someone is interested in cooking. Wi-Fi and tourist guides are also present inside. FC Barcelona tour can be booked from the hostel itself.

However nice the staff, there were BED BUGS and it was terribly cold. Do not stay there, unless you like bite marks and frost bite.

Really it was the best in everything I moved between three places in Barcelona and finally found this one Everything is excellent and wonderful. Staff … Location … Cleanliness … the rooms … Sleeping beds … Kitchen and hospitality … and the price. But no towels and you have to pay for the breakfast.

All you can hope for a youth hostel. Clean, quite secure, nice staff at your service open 24h/day. And that for the cheapest price possible. And the situation is ideal to visit Barcelona.

I unfortunately stayed in that place where my friend with whom I went, stung the bugs and spiders in his bed, so we broke the plan to know the city to go to the clinic. The manager tried to justify saying that we chose to stay in a hostel and that it was normal, that these things happen, which is absurd because of the fact that they are minimal health issues. If you want a clean, vermin-free place, don't stay there.

Besides the bed fleas and the fact that one has to give his passport on arrival, I loved this hostel, very well placed.

Hipstel was a multifunctional center. It had different rooms with different prices and if you want to sleep in a bit better place you can choose from veriety of options. It also has breakfast options and is really close to Ramblas. It is also near the bus stop and I liked that place. Next time I visit Barcelona I'm gonna stay here again. If you want a hostel with fair prices and high service. Choose the Hipstel.

Nice, Budget hostel. The doors to the rooms are closed. There are turnkey lockers.
In the café you can buy something to eat. Or you'll be at the table with your food. There is also a terrace with tables. Very comfortable.
The place is always lively. You can go even if you are not a guest.

Its okey, you get what you pay for but its not something special. We had a room for 4 with 4 friends and we had a ok sleep. Clean enough, nice People and a steady stay.

Unfortunately, we were very dissapointed with our stay at The Hipstel. We had a double room. I have stayed at plenty of hostels around the world, but this was by far the worst. The "double bed" was nothing more than a sofa bed and really uncumfortable. The window of the room was directed towards a backyard (which is not bad), however, it was not possible to open the window due to odor nuisance coming from sewerage. Bed sheets had blood stains from prior residents, we were woken up by puking people in the next door bathroom two mornings in a row (badly soundproofed rooms), showers were disgusting and not enough in number. Just to state some of the things that bothered us. With almost 100 € per night for a double room the value is extremely poor. I cannot recommend to stay at The hipstel in Barcelona.

BED BUGS! Stay away from this place! I can't believe people give 5 star in this hostel. Shower is very dirty and the most important thing is there is bed bugs and when you tell them, no one cares. Obviously they know already. Whole my body covered with bites. They ruined my time in Barcelona.

We were supposed to stay five nights, but left after finding bed bugs in our room. When we asked for a refund and to cancel the rest of our stay, the manager was on vacation and there wasn't one person in the entire hostel on a Monday morning who could resolve anything. Please, if you are reading this, choose another place to stay because it isn't worth the risk; the place isn't even that nice. The first night, when we still had any semblence of expectations, we waited for dinner to be served. We were told over an hour later that the chef wasn't going to cook because he was very hungover from partying too much. Yes, this actually happened.

The staff is always helpful and kind, they always receive you with a smile and really care about your experience at the hostel, the rooms feel a bit crowded but it is expected, given the amount of beds, clean rooms and bunk beds and air conditioning available, which is extremely helpful during the hot and humid summer. They have breakfast and dinner every day inside the hostel at economic prices, which is nice. Overall a great experience, I fully enjoyed my stay and would definitely book again.

The lockers do not have padlocks and the beds are not of good quality. The location is very good. I think that's why they charge the night. Breakfast should be included.

A lot of noise at night: They said they'd close the common room at 12.30 of the night and people were still talking very loud at 2 am.

Central, comfortable, but the bathroom noises don't stop. People shower at any time even if it's a handicap bath. It did not recommend to be more than 5-7 days.

10 EUR hostel for 22 EUR. I stayed at this hostel and had a couple of issues, The Wi-Fi was broken for 2 days. The beds were very uncomfortable. There was a disgusting smell coming from the trash cans near the kitchen the 3 days I was there. I very diplomatically brought these issues up a few times to three different employees who all gave me very apathetic "manana, manana" response. For a hostel that costs 22 EUR/nightly this disregard for guests is really disappointing and detracted from my time in Barcelona.

Really nice place, very comfortable. The windows in my room were drafty, and the street outside is noisy, and the locker are very small. Otherwise very nice, secure building, good atmosphere, and helpful staff.

Excellent value, good location. Staff was very helpful. Rooms could be better insulated from noise.

Hostel is located in a quite central. Rooms and bathrooms are always clean. For the price there is nothing to complain about.

It was awesome, I spent a week there and is the best hostel, the staff is very nice and the facilities are the best, if you are planing to go to barcelona, this is the hostel in which you should stay.

Clean, Nice staff, free drinks for all guests, air conditioning in rooms and common rooms. All at 5 minutes away from the Ramblas and 1 minute from casa Batlló.

Very disappointed after reading the rave reviews here. Don' t book a 2-person room: no airco or ventilation in this 2x3m room so very hot nights, noise of the vending machine in the hall kept us awake and the other guests totally ignored the rule about silence after 22pm and the hostel itself didn't intervene. Breakfast for 3€ was really limited: plate with 3 slices of sweaty salami and cheese, one bowl of cerial and an egg with toast bread. Do your own dishes. Personnel was very friendly though and the location is close to the gaudi houses and 10min walk from la ramblaz. All in all: i've stayed in way better hostels, not for a romantic getaway.

The reviews online can't be trusted, the hostel gives out free beers for good reviews. The hostel is excessively noisy, with shitty faux jazz blaring all night, don't expect to get a decent night's rest here. The showers were clogged and would flood the entire bathroom when used. After two nights of bullshit I checked out and found a different place to stay.

Love the atmosphere of the Hipstel. The Hipstel perfect for couples, groups and also the best place for solo travelers. If you like good music, meeting new people and make friends, party; then its the right place for you. The location is great, the chef is Italian (Enrico) the dinner is only 5 euro and its tastes like a restaurant food, healthy and tasty, plus you get a free beer, Common area has a relaxing vibe, also gets loud when its a happy hour, from 22:00-23:00 drinks are 1, 2, 3 euros only. Perfect for a predrink before hitting the nightclub. You can make a reservation at the Hipstel for free entrance to any nightclubs before 1:30-2:00. Very helpful and friendly stuff.

My name is Luciano, I'm Argentine and 2 months I came to Barcelona. Now I'm going in 2 days. During my stay in Barcelona (2 months) I've known several hostels but this is which I liked more. The truth is that this hostel called too my attention by the warmth that have demonstrated the workers of this. In January I return and now I think that definitely this hostel will be my first choice for my accommodation.

Good hotel to stay a few days in the city of Barcelona, is located in a strategic position to visit the places of interest of the city. The attention is very good.

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. So friendly and helpful and just a cool place to be.

It is the modern hostel par excellence of Barcelona. Very close to the paseo de Gracia, you have very carefully decorated and retailer. Virtually there to do all the paperwork in English to be able to enjoy Rune d night there. Best of the hostel is undoubtedly the dining room with terrace, is ideal to start the day with forces while you take a coffee (I must say that it is not the best coffee in the world) but the terrace is spectacular.
