Pensión Mariluz Hotel

Great for the price. Small rooms and shared bathrooms yes but they don't claim to be a luxury hotel — location is great, 5 minutes from the best cafe in barca and 5 minutes the other way to the best wine bar in Spain. If you don't plan to spend much time in the room this is a good choice.

4+ Good hostel in the very centre of Barca. Staff is polite. Noice isolation is not perfect, however this was not critical.

5 stars x The kindness and helpfulness of the staff. 5 stars because although very very modest always clean well served and well run. 2 stars x the 80 steps. We were there from 25 to 29 April 2018

Quite noisy but simple comfort.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very clean and cozy, the shared bathroom area gets cleaned many times a day. There also is a great kitchen, we have been able to cook many meals in order to save money on dinners (it is only missing an oven). The city area around the hotel is absolutely beautiful — very narrow old streets that look fabulous during the day and night. Some people have complained about the stairs you have to climb everyday, but I found it to be a nice excercise :). Overall very pleasant experience.

Great location but low quality services, small and uncomfortable rooms and little cleaning.

Stayed there for 8 days… terrible experience… will never go there again… specially with the rude morning receptionist… banding all day… killer stairs being on the 3rd floor… terrible by all means.

Gd clean rooms. There are no elevators to the hotel, you'll have to climb 3 floors to get to the hotel. There is a kitchen with washing machine facilities, stove and a refridgerator. Rooms do not have a tv. Very friendly staff and very good location.

Good location. But hotel is on the 3rd floor (ground floor is level 0), so if you have luggages this may be a hassle. But price is good for the location. Close to eateries, la rambla and Jaume I metro station.

Nice Place in the heart of the Gothic quarter, 2 minutes from Ramblly.

I would give 4, 5 very nice clean pension with good bed and totally functioning kitchen. Also the staff was very nice and helpful. Not for people who have difficulties of climbing lots of stairs. Probably the only thing that was missing was some kind of carpet or towel in the toilet after the shower.

Starting with a sporting ascent to the 3rd floor, it goes to small but clean rooms. The shared toilets/showers are clean but simply not up to date and not to be explained by a particularly reasonable price.
