Mellow Barcelona Hostel

Poor service, poor hygiene.

Pros: it was clean Not very loud Locker facility common and individual both You make your own breakfast with bread, jam, butter etc Cons: Location was on a hill so you had to walk or I should say climb to reach this place if you cannot find the one bus which directly drop you at this location. AC was not working and it became very hot.

Staff friendly and welcoming, hostel clean, neat and had a cheery vibe. Balcony in the room and lovely roof terrace with great views. The bunks were solid (always a blessing), with USB charging ports, light and curtains, clothes hooks and shelf — some of the nicest I've had in a hostel. Showers clean and great pressure :) A great stay all round! Only downsides: A little out of the way and up the hill from the city centre, although bus and metro run from nearby.

No one has shied people who are respectful and non-welcoming.

This hostel is pretty far from a lot of the popular things to see in Barcelona. The door for our room did not have a working door so we were not able to lock it. The common areas we nice. The bed spaces were nice, each bed having a privacy curtain and outlets. Also lockers were available in multiple sizes. There is a kitchen available to cook your own food.

The facilities are very good, the rooms are clean and with good space, the staff is very good, the internet service and breakfast will give you a plus, the bad thing is that it is a bit removed from the center of the city and to reach it you need to use a bus.

Perfect value for money. Not amazing, but convenient. The location is beautiful, but if you plan to walk check the busses, if you plan to cycle, try getting an electric one. There is a very nice forest walking distance following the road up. There is a veggies and a groceries shop near there, anything else, down the hill.

For the price its a good place. Notable thing is that view. This place has a reputation for drug smugglers stopping by, addicts and asocials people staying here often. My stay personally wasnt bad but I would not come back here again.

If it were possible I would put 0 stars. The internet was fatal. The doors of the rooms closed, and the staff did not knock on the door before entering. The cleaning is fatal! The kitchen leaves much to be desired. The location is terrible if you want to connect to Barcelona quickly, it is on a hill and have to walk for 12 minutes. It is NOT recommended.

Site lousy. Say you are in the center and are removed from the hand of God, on top of a mountain where the only thing there is a residential development. All what you save in accommodation you have to spend on transportation. Slopes are infinite. The customer service also bad. The guy who serves you can barely understand when he speaks, it goes all… Not recommend it to anyone!

People were quite friendly, and it's generally clean enough and so on. It's on a little hill so you will probably want to stock up on energy when you have to get back here after a night of fun in Barcelona, but it's not too distant from the nearest metro stop. It has a bus stop really near.

All is well, only a cool sleep at the end of March.

The prices are good and it is clean, however I had to sleep two nights in a bed next to a window, where just outside there were the fans of the air conditioning system of the building, which make a lot of noise, and it is impossible to rest without caps for Ears. Watch when they assign you the room.

It is the most dirty that I have never been to much of a difference. I have been in lots of hostels all over Europe and I have never encountered anything even close. Is quite far away from the metro stop in a site with many slopes and stairs, we will, that the situation is not the best. Would not return nor crazy.

Mellow Apartments is located in Barcelona, 15 minutes’ walk from Sagrada Família. It offers modern, air-conditioned apartments with free Wi-Fi and a private balcony. The apartments feature a lounge area with a flat-screen TV. Each one has a kitchenette with an oven, hob and microwave. There are many restaurants and supermarkets within a 5-minute walk of the apartments. Located just 150 yards away, Clot Metro Station is 5 stops away from Plaza Catalunya and the city centre. The property offers an airport shuttle service for an extra cost.

The most horrible experience I had in my life. I got bitten by insects and I ended up I urgencies. There were bed bugs and flies. I complained to the manaement and I showed them hundreds of bites on my hands and legs. The manager was extremly rude and he ask me to leave… after arguing with the management for 4 days I got my money back… but no compensation no apologies. The most disgusting experience ever!

The only positive thing I can get out of this site is that the location, being somewhat away from the center, is quite quiet. The staff barely speaks Spanish and it is a difficult thing to communicate with them if you don't have mere English skills, other than they are almost never in case you have to communicate anything. My partner and I stayed in the rooms that are private but with shared bathroom. I had already stayed in hostels and hostels with shared bathroom and I can assure you that in the three days we were there, they did not clean a single time, both the room and the bathroom. The bathroom just used it because of the conditions in which it was… In the room we found papers used under one of the beds and two butts, with this and I leave clear how often they clean. The walls are very thin, we hear even the snoring from other rooms. My partner and I stayed for two nights but I can assure that not one would have left me having had another option for the lack of time with which we booked… The price is not reasonable due to the conditions in which it is located.

The room sizes are very nice (6 people), the staff is helpful and nice, but I had a bad experience, because for the last night I had to swich rooms because of a receptionists mistake. The shower heads aren't removable and the water temperature is either ice cold or burning hot. There is a lot of lockers you can use. Every bed has a plug and 2 USB ports and a drawer to put your stuff in them (you get the key for 10€, which you get back, when you return the key). You can pay for breakfast and coffee. They have a common room with a TV, tables and a computer.

Improper cleaning and is very far away.

Very quiet. Affordable price in shared rooms. Clean except common areas. Splendid views to the mountain. Well connected by metro. It is not worth to go by car, there is parking.

Really small rooms and it's a bit out of Barcellona, but is cheap and has a great view of the city.

Cava is clean and big enough;

The apartment is good but very very dirty everything, no TV and the treatment very bad. There are no bed sheets and there are very few cooking utensils. There is a lot of dirt and there is not a broom to sweep… If it was cleaner and had a better deal it would be fine because the place is cool.

Not recommended. But if there is no way out then you can. There are Arabs and not very happy to see you.

As it came up as the cheapest hostel in my search for somewhere to stay in Barcelona, I opted for it but… It's basic, very basic. Some of the electrical systems don't work, there are missing lights in some of the toilets and the shower just pours into the toilet floor meaning if you aren't first into it you have to put up with the floor being wet and dirty from the other users, if I could plan my stay again I'd pay more to stay in a more central location.

Distant location, kitchen was gross and poorly stocked. Not a great place for solo travelers.

Great location in the middle of the city but the kitchen is not equipped enough. Convenient for those who want to go to discover Barcelona for a few days.

Decent lodgings but thier charm was with their staff. For volunteers they were some if the nicest people I've met.

Simply horrible. I can't give this place less than one star or I would. What you can look forward when staying there. Overpriced small rooms, indifferent staff and stinky bathrooms. That along with dirty areas is what you'll get at Mellow. That is after climbing over a 100 stairs uphill to get this literal hole in a wall. If you got any common sense stay away, don't believe the good reviews. Please listen and never ever consider staying there. You've been warned.

Thieves and even violent. I recommend it. After paying 60 euros for a room that you can not define such for dirt and lack of equipment (even lacked a pillow), we were thrown out in a bad way after not even three hours saying we had to vacate the room. The owner warmed up and attacked us for no reason so much that we had to call the police. We lost the money and spent the last day of holidays between hospital and police for the due complaints. The worst experience in Barcelona.

Super Hostel. Clean and comfortable. I liked everything. No complaints.

Nice hostel, only walk far.

The hostel is clean and the beds comfy. The prices are so stracciatl that you find yourself the most disparate and desperate people. The first night at 3 a drunk guy started to get altered and yelled and the police had to come to the dorm. Then the guy an hour later went to puke. Then at 6 am tornatidl The boys went to the evening. At 6, 30 they started to get up the many workers who use the hostel as support. In General It is full of strange subjects. With the windows closed in the rooms lacks air, risk asphyxiation. They keep it well, it costs very little, but it doesn't rest well. I wouldn't recommend it.

The worst hotel ever I ever choose.
Staff attitude is so bad. Not customer oriented.
Management: bad, led to overbooking. Then they simply ask me to transfer to other hotel which is quite far. They charge me twice, creating double charges. When I ask for refund, they try to delay and complicate the situation and until now no refund being paid to me.
Cleanliness: dirty, better check in other hotel.
I am very strongly not recommending this hotel.

Mellow hostel is a worst hotel, because of Staff is very noisy in the night around 2 am, stingy offer quality andpersonal attention, dirty in the bedrooms & bathroom, WC and scammers when you are paying the bedroom.
I don Recommend by any way.

The staff was very friendly, you see much people and all of them shared beer and food with you. You can used the kitchen or aks the reception for lunch and dinner. You can take a single room or an share room. The share room is very cheap and you get Wi-Fi and electricity.
the beds are comfortable and just a bit shaky.
the bathroom is enough for that what you need. The stay space Contains many opportunities seat, a couch, a TV and a refrigerator for everyone.
the city view is… great but you cant see the ocean or the big buildings. The beach is walking far but you can buy a 10 journeys ticket for 10 euros and come to any agency in barcelona.
entertain yourself with the staff and they are always helpful. They will be you re friends. It was a very good time and in the future I go back to that hostal.

The worst hostel in which I have never been.
With humidity in the room and in the bath, the room smelled fatal, they gave us minitoallas (with a doubtful color) and cleaning shone by their absence. To make matters worse the breakfast we had that ask for it and over us ate bad face and bringing us what they aporrearon us the door in the morning and until we wake up not did not stop. Incredible.

We seek on the internet this hostel and made the reservation online, looking for also we find comments that were not very good place but we risk, good luck is none of the above read that was bad happened to us, they gave us a room for my friends and I and it was all fun, they have a very nice terrace where pueds a drink and start the night, quite clean and tidy in general is worth the penalty the site.

Traveling around the spin I never think to find a place like this, to get there you have to walk like 10 minutes, but when you are there the views are amazing, the staff its so funny and the other guest was so friendly. I recommend this place!

The reviews about uncleanliness are outdated. When I was there there was a ferverent cleaning spirit. I saw the place cleaned more times than any other hostel. The reports about the friendly staff are not strong enough. These staff are not just friendly, they actually care. We went there on a holiday and on the way met two backpackers who had nowhere to go, so they came with us. We had a reservation so we got beds, but the hostel didn't turn the other people away. "I don't want you guys sleeping out on the street" was what the owner said, and after afferming there were no beds anywhere, he gave them his room and he stayed at the desk all night. From experience I can say that that level of actually careing is rare. They were helpfull about everything to the point where it actually made a difference. It may be far from the center, but it's one subway ride from the train station and a 15 min walk in a good neighborhood, so when you arrive doesn't really matter. The view even from the bottom floor is breathtaking. We had one bad experiance where 4 people in our room liked to turn the lights on and off all night and got really aggressive towards people who told them to stop, but when we complained the staff immediately went to the room and removed them. Who you sleep with is a dice role, but the mellow hostel strives to be it's best. Would stay again 100%

It's the most shitty place where I stayed in my entire life. It's really far from everything, it's dirty and the guys at the reception only wants your money. They're very rude and often they overbook so it ends up that there is no space for you. Stay away from these guys.

Hello, since it was dirty, it was the kitchen not in use *only the staff*, forever away from it all, the view over the city was so-so, the staff was unverschaemt and probably criminal, have in any case tried myself to deduct the beds were not obtained, the shower was always cold. Was good actually, nothing, it was fairly cheap but for that there was just no Fruehstuek and no kitchen so it is very Expensive. Was not even gebutzt, no go, dont go there and if becareful.

This is very nice and relaxing hostel with great staff service. Highly recommended!

The place was isolated from everything, not as advertised. The hostel was very dirty it wasnt cleaned once during the 4 night stay the showers and toilets let off a nasty smell, the walls wer very dirty, rooms do not lock, the beds were very fragile. The food was advertised to be fresh but was the complete opposite. The common room had a fridge that had rooten food in it which was left by previous people but wasnt clean which was making the whole room smell, and the worst part was that the staff were EXTREMELY rood.

Quiet but with leaks up to the rain and the cleaning is not your thing.

Beautiful setting, warm welcome which helps any questions quiet clean place equipped with all the necessary kitchen, large room with bar for reception, Wi — Fi everywhere, the rooms have a balcony, they have an apartment for 4/5 person with private lift and terrace that gives Valley view. There is a bus that leads to the Center in 10 minutes but downhill walk is great, the subway is located on the grand boulevard at 5 min. There are large parks next must visit to also enjoy the view of the city and down to the Park Güell. I highly recommend for the price/quality and location.

Świetne miejsce. Jestem na poddaszu. 3 pokoje. W jednym nawet klimatyzator. Kuchnka halogenowa I piekarnik elektryczny. Zmywarka. Duża lodówka. W łazience pralka I fajny prysznic z wanną. Nie ma obsługi sprzątającej, ale to nie obniża w ogóle oceny. Na zewnątrz grill I taras z widokiem na zachodnią Barcelonę. Spokojnie można przyjechać z dziećmi lub 5 dorosłych osób.

This site is crap, superguarro, with a computer that you use putting coins and euro gives you 5 minutes, people most irresponsible of the world. I made a reservation for a double room with private bathroom to go on honeymoon with my wife, and when I get there tell me that does not appear the reserve, when finally finds it, tells me that the room has given it to someone else and give me the option to go to another room shared with 6 people more. That seem travel from another country to a strange city where you think you have your reservation and upon arrival put you to search and book hotel to last minute after you have booked with them with a month and a half in advance. This has been my experience, that is why I do not recommend it.

Enjoyed staying here, even though it was just one night. The hostel is very well organised, provides you with laundry machine, refrigerator, fully equipped kitchen and a couple more things. Staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and spacious enough. Unfortunately, the hostel doesn't have the best place — there is no problem living a bit far from the city centre, as the metro station is not far away, but it seems to be the highest point in town. It becomes a serious problem when carrying a large backpack. This hardship, however, is compensated by very cheerful and helpful service who aids you as soon as you enter the hostel. Otherwise great and I really recommend it.

The Mellow hostel is very cool. It is a place where you can meet all kinds of people with a cozy atmosphere. It is cheap, clean, well connected to the places of interest of the city and the staff is very friendly.

Mellow Eco Hostel is one of the best hostels where I've gone. It's all very clean and have everything necessary. The view is incredible! And on weekend we ate paella in the terrace with the people from the hostel. The staff is very friendly and helpful with everything. I'm going to come back safe.

Amanzing hostel! I love days in here! wonderfull staff, that always try to help you with everything! they organize nights with pub crowls and it's really easy to meet nice people and have a great time and fun. I just felt like home.

Mellow Eco Barcelona was a big surprise. A quiet hostel with a view sorpreendentes. In addition to ecological account with a very knowledgeable staff and always with a great sorrisa to offer. The rooms are large, bright and very clean. They have a fully equipped kitchen that lets you ahorarr the hoara eating money. Public transportation (bus) is on the side and the terrace is amazing. I highly recommend it.

This guys rock. Located on a top of a mountain where you can run away from the madness of Barcelona and enjoy the best views of the city. There is one point of the way where you can see the entire Barcelona and the sea. They are Eco friendly and the staff is just the best! Very clean and secure with a bust just right in front of the door. Loved their movie selection and the fully equipped kitchen. Best Hostel where I have been.
