Hostal Argo Hostel

Perfect place to stay in Barcelona, near metro and attractions.

I would not recommend Hostal Argo to those planning a trip to Barcelona. The hotel has basic amenities — a microwave and a kettle. The communal area is dark, cave-like, smelly and not welcoming. When we took plastic cutlery, the receptionist scolded us for doing so, saying that the cutlery and napkins are for hotel staff. There was no sign or any other indication this was the case. No fridge is provided. The microwave was dirty and smelly. Our room overlooked the street and market. It was a tight squeeze for two in a triple room. If there was three of us, it would have been a very tight fit. The Wi-Fi was slow and kept dropping out. The A/C did not work. The positive — the housekeeping was nice and the housekeeper was friendly, with a warm smile. For this price, you can find hostels with better atmosphere, nicer amenities and a welcoming atmosphere.

Awesome Hostel! It was even Better to imagine. Ramposition is wonderful, 10 minutes and you are already at the house of Balo. The breakfast was Very good. The Staff is very polite. Any wish is fulfilled. Clean rooms every day. It's all clear. We stayed a week in 102 room. Ideal with its own exit to the courtyard. I Love this place. If I return again, I will definitely settle again.

Hostel simple but nice. The staff very friendly. Good location, near two metro stations. The single room with no cupboards but a correct, well-lit. We pay something more for the "views" but the truth is that not worth the effort, you see buildings and some sky.

Very good value for money. Hostel located 10 min walk from Plaza de Catalunya. The room that we touched is interior and although it is small, it has the basics to spend a few days visiting Barcelona. Clean, with bedding, towels, TV and air conditioning. Good attention. They Have in the morning a "breakfast" of basic courtesy but are appreciated.

The room was a decent size and clean, but the bed was rather uncomfortable and some of the fixtures in the bathroom were broken. The shower head kept falling out of its holder and the shelf under the mirror was bent away from the mirror, so items placed on it tended to slide off it. Also, the room was very noisy. We awoke every day from construction noises and those coming from people in the corridor.

Room way too small also can hear water running when people take shawer in the morning.

Minimalist, original, spotless and a perfect location.

Hostal Argo was definitely as described: cozy and minimalistic. We had a private 3-person room with a bathroom. Bathrooms were really clean as well as all the bed linen. The housekeeping staff was pretty nice and did a pretty good job with keeping our room clean. Why 2 stars? Young individuals BEWARE! Apparently, Hostal Argo has quiet hours after 10:30 pm which basically means you better tip-toe around the room and lobby or you will get a knock on your door and told you’ll get a $600 fine. Of course, if we would’ve known this we wouldn’t have booked this place and stayed somewhere. Will we go back? No way! We felt like we couldn’t even laugh for fear of repercussions. On the bright side, Manuel in the reception desk was super nice and was great with us. Thanks manuel!

Blurring. Average home. Request for cash payment. If you want to sleep, go to the toilet and take your sweet with the neighbor it feels like you will have it. The first time I'm disappointed with an establishment in Barcelona.

Great hostel. The only trouble we had was the shower but it started working the next day.

We were in a triple room, which had nice views and was quite spacious. The little sun room attached was a great feature. The only negative things I have to say about our stay is that the walls are thin and you can hear a lot from the hall way and other rooms. The beds and pillows were also not the most comfortable, but when we asked for extra pillows, the staff were very kind and promptly fulfilled our request. Overall I would recommend.

Warning stay away! Do not pay until you see the room! Me and my girlfriend pre paid for a room that overlooks a supposedly internal courtyard and when we get there we realised that the "courtyard" actually was the elevator and the room did not have natural light it was terrible!

Friendly and welcoming staff, well-placed hotel (near amenities: shops and transport)

It was mostly clean, but the day-blanket had a few stains on it. The room was small and the biggest downside was that it had no outside facing window. We liked that we had our own bathroom. The staff at the reception was very friendly.

The hostel is located in a very central location with good connection to public transportation. Just below you have a private parking to park the car. The rooms are very very clean and very new. We met in the reception a boy called Manuel and he was very polite and attentive, explained us how to go where we wanted. When I return to Barcelona I alojare there.

Central, cozy and very friendly… highly recommended without a doubt for short stays in the city.

Great location, helpful staff and clean. However, our room was tiny — — more like a walk in closet with a small window facing an alley covered with blinds you could not open so absolutely no natural light. It made me feel very claustrophobic and I was glad to get out of there. I would recommend the hotel but make sure you book a decent sized room with a real window as their small rooms are ridiculous.

It was clean and the location was perfect for our short visit. Carlo was very helpful. Everything he suggested was excellent. I would do that again.

This is a great place. I stayed there with my wife and a couple of friends and it was a wonderful experience. The staff is very helpful and cordial. The rooms are extremely clean and the location is perfect. The only downside is that you can´t control the room temperature. Otherwise, couldn´t recommend it enough.
