Husband and I were visiting from montana, usa. Had a wonderful experience. All the staff were so friendly, upgraded our room for free (still no idea why), gave us a free electricity converter, and our rooms were clean. The views of the cathedral were breathtaking. Excellent walking distance to stores and markets.
Worst experience we have ever had. I have never been treated so bad at a hotel. We arrived from an overnight flight from LAX, when we arrived at 10:00 am they informed us that they could not check us in until 12pm. We sat in the lobby until 4 PM waiting for our rooms. The manager was very rude and didn't want to be bothered. We canceled the two days on the tail end of our cruise and am calling American Express to make a claim on the other charges. Could have been a great trip, totally ruined the trip for us. Be aware of this hotel.

Showers that don't drain, A/C with broken thermostats, damp bedding, mattresses made of wire with sack cloth, stained carpets and an indifferent front desk are just a few of the charms this hotel provides. Quaint is code for 18th century crap-hole. I get that old european buildings are old. But some hoteliers take that as an excuse for running a bad hotel. Location allows them to charge extortionate prices, but skipping basic maintenance is always unacceptable. Avoid this place.
