Hostal Europa Hostel

For an inexpensive and short stay in Barno is a very comfortable place. First city center, near all major attractions. The Guys at the reception are very nice. And helped to accommodate not only me, but also my bike. Helped to call a taxi. Every Day cleaning and so everything is clean. Minus only if you have noisy neighbours, as the walls are thin and all heard and conversations and moans in love couples.

It's hard to understand why people talk about cleanliness. They certainly didn't have our room: Bathroom room, traces on the walls, shower curtain with mold! For the price it is, it's aberrant as much dirt. The bed is not at all comfortable. The condition of the room itself is aberrant if you have a minimum of hygiene.
The only positives: the location is really great and the staff is friendly.

Clean quiet very nice location right in the heart of everything.

The room that I had ice cream, with a small radiator that did not heat almost anything I commented on reception and did not operate any command. Heat pump, three nights and the only solution give me up to five blankets, pitiful, and they still wanted me to pay the city hall tax.

Hotel, noisy side street at night, but clean, personal hospitable.

Nice place. Close to Rambla Clean but my room smoke very bad like cigarettes.

Very good location. Room and bathroom spacious and more than enough if you are coming for sightseeing in the city. Cleanliness and service good.

The good thing is that it is close to the subway and the Ramblas… for the rest one you must also adjust.

Positives:
-Location: Excellent, very close to the Rambla and the Metro
-Friendly and helpful staff
Negatives:
-Cleanliness: Very poor, the room was not in a good state, apart from maybe sheets that those were clean
-Room: We took a double with the private bathroom, the small size that were not a big deal, but the room had no windows which gave the exterior a depressing and dismal atmosphere.
-Noises: This is the worst point, we struggled to sleep because of too much noise, the walls did not isolate any noise. The continuous movements of other people four and inside the rooms were clearly audible in the night. Also the cleaning lady starts very very early to clean the other rooms, turned out other noises early in the morning.

Clean and close to the amenities.

Very enjoyed my stay. Clean hostel in the centre,, La Rambla". Providing great hospitality.

Good value for money Have what it takes to stay a few days, but for the price you can not ask for more.

A side of the Rambla, opposite the metro station LICEU. Super location. The rooms were cheap.

Good if you are alone, rooms are cleaned everyday, nice people and perfect location for tourists.

Good hostel for the price but with many drawbacks. First of all just arriving we had to wait 40 minutes to check in. To keep us from expecting more we were given a room that was not the one allocated in our booking and that to top the window was broken and a winds to the room that was not normal. The theme of the shared bathroom there was never hot water saved at 6 in the morning, there are hostels that this service if you have it controlled and could fix it. The heating is not permanent. Another thing we did not like is that after spending the 1 night the next day we made the beds without telling us that they were going to enter or if you want to ask if we wanted to pick it up, we did not like that will not warn but we appreciate the gesture. The good thing about the hostel is that they let us keep our bags at no extra cost, and definitely the location is the best you have.

No real duvets, only dirty sheets with hair, at least room service that cleans up, shabby shower, poor price performance.

Good value for money. This hotel is very well positioned a few steps from the Ramblas and the Gothic quarter. You have to go up stairs to access it. The rooms are sketchy. The staff is rather nice. Daily Cleaning.

The flaws of the place are covered by the excellent predisposition of the concierges.

Cockroaches. That's my summary.
We are from yesterday at the hostel. This morning we have only put a clean towel and we said ' Well, tomorrow we discuss but nothing happens ', so without bad rolls.
When I came out of the shower I found a cockroach and I escaped, I was going to warn reception when I found another one. We got down and the only thing he offered me was an insecticide because the other rooms were busy and they couldn't change us. I was still not satisfied, but I didn't know what solution to find. It's been half an hour and we've killed six more cockroaches. Now we're going to go down and reclaim and get our money back. We want to get out of here.
Also, we believe there is a nest because hay seen going out to a few of the same place and they are cockroaches babies.
It is a disgrace, has not worried about going up to the room, seek solution or call a superior to report the situation.
I never book again in a hostel and less on this one.

It does the job: you have a place to sleep. That's about it. The room is small and doesn't have much equipment, the bed is tiny and very uncomfortable. Personnel is not very friendly. Location is very good though, a few steps from La Rambla.

Very basic rooms with fantastic air-conditioning and great central location.

Ordinary hostel, the only plus is the location.

Quiet and clean hostal. Room has good a/c and Wi-Fi, but does smell of cigarettes. Very basic with bed, desk, sink and wardrobe. Shared bathroom clean and always available. Excellent location in centre of old town.

Hotel close to the center very good.

Very cheap hostel, shared bathrooms and small and cramped rooms, compensate for great location and low prices.

Do not stay here. The hostel is full of BED BUGS! Don't be fooled by the low price. The staff knows about the bed bug problem and has chosen to ignore it.

Awful. Do not stay here. I would give it 0 stars if I could! Room had bedbugs on the walls and in the blankets. There was also pubic hair on the towels that we were given to use. Saw from another user that they were bitten by bedbugs last week from here so I would avoid coming here till they fix their bedbug problem.

Stayed in a single room located near the staircase (206) so was very noisy because of all sounds of the hotel resonating inside the building. I would recommend avoiding that room. Also I got bitten one night by several bedbugs and as the wound got infected I had to see a doctor and get a prescription for steroids. In other words, awful experience.

It's a quiet place, very friendly and helpful staff, great quality/price, large, lighted and clean rooms. Strategic point because it is close to the metro and is at 50 meters of the Rambla de Catalunya. I highly recommend it.

I had the chance to come the staff pleasant strategic Place.

It was relatively clean, the beds were acceptable. The place is much less beautiful than the photos suggest. However, the bathrooms and toilets are shared by floors. There is only one sink (clogged in the two rooms we occupied) in the rooms. I had to fix the shutter when I came in, so I could close the window. Nevertheless, the night is very cheap, and the hotel has two computers, and a functional Wi-Fi on all floors. In short, it is perfect as a student room, but not recommended as a pleasure hotel.

The main plus of this hostel is it's location. Perfect. Central, in the gothic neighborhood, close to everything. Small but clean and quiet (mine was facing a tiny back yard) rooms. People at the reception desk made various impressions. One was super nice and helpful, where the other was acting annoyed and behaved like he's doing me a big favor even talking to me.

Staff friendly and welcoming.

I did reservation by Booking with cancellation for free and NO PREPAID. Surprise, the hostal charged the 1st night on my bank account. I contacted the Hostal and they answer me that "i'm not reading well"… I was in front of the screen… And the man me to call Booking and to handle this problem with them! I answered they should do it because I m not responsible of this problem but apparently was funny for the man so I cancelled the reservation…

We were in a large room (three beds a place) for a couple. Bathroom outside of the room but clean and maintained. In the room, a mirror and a sink (which makes all the difference). A helpful staff and available 24/24.
A more than reasonable price. Well located.

Excellent location close to the ramblas, the metro, and a decent service, although they are not very explicit with their rates.

+ Price + Location — Troubles with hygiene — Bugs in the bed — Blood stains on almost all sheets — Very thin walls — Strip lighting — Only one power outlet, which was very unconveniently placed.

Good place for a stag doo. Reasonably priced, and fairly tolerant. Clean. No frills. Non functioning air con.

An OK place to stay. The location is great, the rooms acceptable, the Wi-Fi is lobby-only, the shared bathrooms (on our floor) were surprisingly spacious — — all in all, a great value for the price. There are lots of good reasonably-priced places to stay in Barcelona; I'll probably keep trying new locations, but I certainly recommend this one to bargain travelers.

The floor of the room dirty, full of hairs and stains. The television did not work. Shower spout, the water was a everywhere less to the tub, open the towel we run two balls hair towels. We well know that we will not return.

Cozy Hostel with a friendly staff and a few extra services on over what cabia wait if we compare them with the price. The room has a bed, a bedside table and a wardrobe (would that most need? ). Share you the bathroom with more rooms or you can choose to have complete bathroom inside the room for a little more. My room had to air conditioning but the of to the side not. If I go back to Barcelona is to Quarteira hostel.
