Hotel

Lovely hotel considering it's rating. It's not located on the nicest of streets, but it's located relatively centrally to the Gothic Quarter and downtown Barcelona. We found ourselves around 20 minutes walk from the marina, where there are some nice restaurants and bars. Case Batllo is only 20 minutes up the road, and is worth the walk. Due to the taxi strikes, we found ourselves walking between our hotel and Park Guell, a 2h10m round trip. It's mostly uphill, so keep that in mind if you are considering following suit. All in all, no complaints about this hotel whatsoever. The staff are helpful, the rooms are nice and the beds are incredible. We were apprehencious originally due to it only being a 2 star hotel, but it certainly out did itself.

In the pictures the hotel is beautiful, on arrival so so, expensive, TV does not work, no iron, no tea and coffee in the rooms too, the room was given which was left and not the one that booked, a simple black and white room, the area is terrible, very dangerous, plus noisy. I don't recommend it!

Nice clean rooms. very friendly staff. easy to find place but in a noisy, though very youth friendly, neighbourhood… breakfast is satisfactory! place is easy to find…

Essential, clean, with very helpful staff, centrally located in the heart of the Old Town and a stone's throw from the Ramblas and the most popular tourist attraction places. Only flaw, noisy for young people who, in the nearby square behind play almost 24 hours a day with the Kates.

Very good location. In a very cosmopolitan neighborhood, but quiet and close to very good places: Rambla, Plaza Barcelona…

The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. Everything in a little space, but it's the one you need.
11 to 20 coffee, tea, chocolate and cappuccino courtesy, machine and very rich.

I loved the smell of lavender and rosemary freshly soaked in the patio-interior terrace of the room!

Chic interior, staff are very friendly. Excellent location within walking distance of Las Ramblas Street, the beach and the Sagrada Familia. Rooms a little on the small side but are very well kept.

Very poor service. Asked so many times for Wi-Fi connectivity. But they ignored every time. In Bathroom no soap available. Its just a basic room with no facility.

Its quite nice hotel in the centre of Barcelona, its easy to go anywhere from here, and you can enjoy the neighbourhood as well. Somehow I fell in love with this city! Then again who doesn't!

Rooms are quite small but comfortable and clean. Good breakfast selection (buffet). Convenient location for Central Barcelona. Would visit again.

Located on a busy little street of diverse shops and restaurants, this boutique hotel offers clean rooms, friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast buffet! I would agree with others that sound travels a bit and the hotel's shampoo & bodywash were undesirable, but the blackout curtains were great and the croissants served at breakfast were arguably the best I've ever had! I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Hotel Acta BCN 40 to others :)

Great hotel. Provides the necessities for a short break away with simple small rooms and very friendly reception staff. Very close to many transport hubs and tourist attractions.

Unfortunately it is very noisy and hard to sleep. Additional the rooms are a bit outdated.

Very friendly welcome on arrival. Comfortable and very clean hotel. All staff work hard to make our stay enjoyable. Beds also very comfortable. Check out the local Tapas bars, very good. Great location. Nothing was to much trouble for reception staff, Allways happy to help and advise about the area.

Nice hotel in the centre of Barcelona. Close to metro stations. Biggest beds I've ever seen I'm a hotel.

Location is close to centre/ la rambla but on some backstreets, as for the hotel is clean with friendly staff, good breakfast and rooms are satisfactory.

It is an excellent hotel and very good location. Highly recommended.

The people at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean/ neat and cosy. They organised our transport to the harbour and later to the airport as well. We used their lockers for our luggage on the day we disembarked from the ship. We enjoyed the last few hours in the city before flying out. Walking distance from Las Ramblas and other nice places. We will definitely stay there again.

The staff was very bad… (reception) … and in the room needed cleaning… the neighborhood not recommended for persons aged over 25 years…

Careful with the map of aid because it does not correspond to Joaquim Costa 40, but the carrer Sant Joaquim, in the neighborhood of Gracia, in Barcelona.

The neighborhood is bit dodgy at night. The hotel is basic and doing a bit of research you can find much better for that price. The rooms are modern, but dark. They are of an acceptable size and have airco. The bathroom consisted of a whole in the floor and a curtain, no bath or shower cabin, causing the bathroom to flood every time we took a shower. When the toilet in the room broke down, nobody was able to help. The only option was the bathroom at the reception downstairs. The cleaning lady started making noise at 9 on a Sunday morning and knocked on the door despite a clear ‘do not disturb’ sign. The sound isolation of the bedroom door was quite bad in general. You can forget about sleeping out in the weekend. The hotel personnel was quite arrogant but accepted to offer a 10% discount for the inconveniences. I wouldn’t stay there again.
