Koisi Hostel Hostel

The hostel itself was nice looking. The rooms were clean but relatively small. There was not enough space to hang clothes and there was kind of a funky smell in the room. Overall it was not bad, and I mostly enjoyed staying here. The only really negative thing about our experience here would be the people who stayed in the same room as us, as they yelled at us for making the slightest bit of noise at 7am while we were getting ready to leave and were, I suspect, a bit racist towards us.

Cleanest and nicest hostel I have stayed in during my travels through Europe. Rooms well air conditioned and front desk staff very friendly and helpful.

Nice clean hostel, quite newly built, with free high-speed Wi-Fi (could stream 720p) video easily with plenty other people there. 7 minute walk to the nearest beach and 25 mins walk along the beautiful and well-appointed beaches will take you into the Old Town. I stayed in a room meant for 6 and didn't get a towel (had to rent one for €2) but other rooms had towels included. Also had a communal bathroom while others had a bathroom in their rooms, so check ahead. Also, the A/C is controlled for each room in Reception, so ask for it to be turned on. Breakfast was a very basic affair, 2 cereals, toast and not great coffee (fair enough I guess).

We have spent 5 days in the Koisi, my 5 fellow teachers and I, with a group of 43 adolescents of 15 years, and we wanted to put on record that we have been welcomed and made to feel at home. All the staff we have seen what has been done with sympathy, efficiency and good will, at all times. Thank you, guys, in the name of the School Andorrana de Encamp! The facilities are in very good condition. The rooms are spacious and bright, and are very clean. The buffet breakfast, very correct and in amount, and the half board (dinner) balanced and varied. In addition, we have prepared a picnic diary to keep, which has greatly facilitated the organization of our sports activities, cultural or leisure. The Hostel is located a few meters from the center and from the beach, and we were able to visit the city on foot without problems. We have been very satisfied of our stay in the Koisi Hostel. Thank you to all of you for your kindness and sympathy! Without a doubt, we will be back!

The kind of hostel you want to stay in. Comfortable (new) beds — and instead of the standard bunk they are more like roomy cubicles which allow a little more privacy. Bathroom facilities in the dorms are excellent — amazing shower! Lovely common area/restaurant downstairs with comfy and trendy sofa, very helpful staff.

Loved the hostel, it was clean, staff was great. This place would be amazing if it had a better location. It’s a 35 minute trek to the old town and it’s in a quiet neighborhood so not the exciting San Sebastián experience you might hope for. However, everything but the location is amazing.

I wasn’t sure I will be happy with the location. I always stayed in a different part of the city. My reservations dissipated once I got there. And, the hostel is wonderful, the staff amazing. Great beds. Clean. Great bar.

Best designed rooms ever for peregrino — cubicle design of bunks provide privacy. Separate toilet and shower for each room. Limited to x6 persons per room. I experienced Koisi Hostel as a quiet environment despite large groups of students staying overnight. Also appreciated being able to stay x5 nights, needing the R+R prior to commencing the Camino. Staff caring and professional, highly recommend Koisi Hostel.

I loved this hostel. It was easy to meet new people in the lobby/bar area. It was clean as well. The only problem was that the dorm room smelled bad. I don't think it was their fault but the fault of another traveler in the room.

Booking on the internet in the day for the same evening… Arrived at midnight past and well received by a nice young man who made the effort to speak to us in French, very appreciable. Clean room, hot water and good pressure. Duvet a little small for the big ones but that's 1 detail.

Extraordinary place! Awesome staff, clean and modern sleepingrooms and bathrooms, roof-terrace, bar, free internet and computer use. Definetly a good price-performance ratio. Around 10min walk to the beach, 20-30min to the old town and city center.

I like this hostel a lot! Clean and modern. Bigger and more spacious than most hostels. Staff is very friendly and sociable. Lots of different languages spoken. I really like the location — it's nestled in the residential hills of Donostia and it's a nice walk along the beach to get to the city center.

Koisi Hostel I was pleasantly surprised in every way. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking at the same door of the hotel. All very new, very clean, very functional. Without architectural barriers, which I value a lot. So I could converse with the rest of the clients with whom agreed, their opinion is the same. Highly recommended!

It was a few days great. Everything very clean, lovely staff, good location and free Wi-Fi. I'm sure that when you return to San Sebastian I will return to the Koisi.

The hostel is very good, receprionist available, breakfast not included and not cheap (3, 50! ). A bit far from the centre but very modern and with all the comforts.

Good location, excellent staff, nice atmosphere, good breakfast with natural juice, cleanliness and all at a price without competition. The best choice to stay in San Sebastian at an affordable price.

I came to San Sebastián during low season, so I knew not to expect much from the city, but the staff a Koisi did their best to help me enjoy the city and what it had to offer while I was there nonetheless. Facilities are great and modern. If I went back to the city, I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

I will definitely repeat my next visits to Donosti. A very nice hostel, clean, cozy and very friendly staff. Very good price and location, very traqnuila area 20 minutes walk from the center.

The staff were very friendly and the room was very good. The shared shower has no privacy, Room 1.3, and also the gum comes out of the handle, when there is pressure. The sink does not swallows well and it takes time to empty. Otherwise everything's fine. Greetings and see you soon.

Brilliant experience with Koisi. Arrived to some outstanding service by a local student who worked at the hostel, he was very detailed, genuine, understanding, and made him self available to usual requests about food / things to do as is the need upon arrival. Service from all staff members was at this level, one senior employee even helped me organizing my departure from Bilbao researching bus schedules, and helping me print. The room had everything that you need, felt safe, clean, and incredibly comfortable.

We asked for a private room and it is very large.
With a big shower and very clean everything.
Comfortable bed, pillows too and no noise at night.
It is 5 minutes from the old town and the beach walking.

I spent 4 nights here in the 8 girl dorm. Clean facilities, good sheets, lockers, clean shower with hot water & soap, multiple common areas. The staff was as helpful as needed. It was very convenient to be able to rent a bike because the hostel is about a 30-minute seaside walk to town. The beach is only right down the hill about 5-10 minute walk. If you don't mind getting some exercise & time to clear your mind whenever you want to go to Old Town you'll love this place! I also found it peaceful to walk home on the beach at night…!

I recently spent 5 nights in San Sebastian — which was made more comfortable with my stay at Koisi Hostel. In my experience one of the things that makes or breaks a stay in a hostel is the impression you get the moment you walk through the door. I was greeted with a friendly welcoming smiles from Christiana and Sonia and it set the tone for the whole stay. All the staff were absolutely fantastic — Helpful, patient, friendly and set the vibe of the place. The Hostel is only 12 months old and it is purpose built for this function. Sometimes new buildings / hostels can lack character, soul and feel a bit clinical. This is no the case with Koisi Hostel. The facilities are well thought out, secure, very very clean. It is a great hostel with hotel facilities (Proper bathrooms, showers, good bed with space and a divider to give some privacy, secure lockers). Everything has been carefully thought out — Free breakfast is a really nice touch good start to the day before you get going. Only comment is that it would be cool if the bar on the terrace was open and there was more going on there — In saying that San Sebastian is such an amazing place you just want to explore all day so didn't really bother me. It is a bit of a walk to Old Town the heart of the city but I just hired bikes or walked and once you get going it isn't it doesn't really phase you and it is a great walk.

The beds are wonderfully comfortable, shower facilities in dorm and sparkling clean. All modern and up-to-date, plug points and lights for each bed. Laundry for a small fee, padlocks for sale for in-room lockers. Great bar and cafe, terrace with second bar. Warm, sweet, engaged staff who are interested in what you've been up to and how to give you a good time in San Sebastián. Be prepared to walk uphill to get there!

Arriving at Koisi after a long day of travelling, I was greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member. The building and facilities were fabulous, clean and well maintained. All the little details added to the experience, such as the fabulous tapas and cakes available from the bar (and the service). I rented a bike for the day and loved travelling around San Sebastian this way. A fabulous, affordable place to stay.

Loved the "welcoming beer or other beverage" offered to each guest upon arrival. Hostel is clean and we'll run with a large common area and a cool separate bar/ lounge. Rooms were clean but small, beds comfy, and the showers were excellent. My only complaint is that the breakfast was too basic for the price overall. What would it hurt to have better bread and a few more offerings such as cheese and yogurt and granola? Nice view of the beach and city and location was good, but a long walk to the old part of the city.

Whilst the hostel looks great — very clean, new and modern, the rooms are very small with barely any room for our bags. The beds are tiny, I'm about 5'4 (read: short) and my head and toes touch the wooden bed head and end! The included breakfast is only toast, tea + coffee and bananas so don't get too excited for that. If I hadn't paid so much to stay so far out of town, I wouldn't mind as much!

Lovely staff, nice clean hostel, one of the best hostels we stayed at on our travels around Europe. We got off the bus thinking woh were staying at that massive bun convent looking place but hidden down more you guys were. We had to share a bathroom here but it worked out alright.

We loved Koisi. The reception area is friendly and homely. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The beds were great and the bunks don't rock! It was also great having private bathroom for 6 bed room. I enjoyed the location, even though it was quite a distance from the old town — we became accustomed to walking the 30 mins to work off the food we had eaten! Would definitely recommend this hostel to others.

I arrived at Koisi very late at night, and was immediately impressed by the structure and design of the building. This place is much more like a hotel than a hostel, and the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Breakfast was also really nice (particularly the coffee! ), although I wish the crushed tomato was fresh (which I experienced at most other hostels around Spain). The only downside to my stay was having a girl bring a guy back to our all-female dorm at 3am. Regardless, I will absolutely recommend this place to other travelers!

Tell me, how can you say no to a place that has a sign that greets you with good vibes only as soon as you enter this place? Besides that, the hostel was clean and the staff were very, very kind and accommodating. I'd definitely recommend​ this hostel to everyone as it's nice and cozy and near the beach! In general it was a good service, the people from the reception very attentive, the breakfast satisfactory, the hostel in good conditions; only I would say that lack a little bit of cleaning in the shared rooms, as in my case edtuve 10 days and I think only once did the toilet and then if I felt the floor with a lot of land. Bathrooms clean and well tailored, and so in genersl would put a grade of 90 if asked. If you recommend it and if some day return to San Sebastian would be a good option.

Clean, modern hostel with a friendly welcome and good feel about the place. 24 hour bar was nice even I am not a bar person and was enjoying myself reading rather than partying but appreciated the atmosphere. Welcome drink and free breakfast including fresh fruit! Thanks guy. I shall be back.

It has been a quiet stay, no noise and in a relaxed environment. The people of the hotel has been very friendly and nice.

Modern Hotel a 5-m. The beach of la concha. The staff unbeatable superatento and effective.

Experience in Koisi Hostel was very good. Have a welcome drink when you arrive from a trip, it is already something very to be thankful for. Room 8 was renewed and each bed had a large space per person. The views from the third floor were very nice and see sunrise and sunset from there was a luxury. Apart from the receptionist Adríán was very nice and gave me recommendations of places where you can eat pintxos and what to visit in San Sebastian. Thanks Adrian, thanks Koisi Hostel!

I really enjoyed staying at Koisi hostel. Everything was very clean, which was nice. The only thing I could see improvement on is making it easier so guests can interact with each other, or having activities that lets guests interact. Overall though, very comfortable, clean, and friendly staff!

The hostel is new and clean and the staff are really nice. The beds were comfortable and well designed. The breakfast was nice. But it's located in a corner — you do really need to take public transport to get there and back. There are no hooks to hang things in the rooms or the shower stalls. The unisex bathroom's shower stall doesn't lock. I understand a unisex bathroom in a hostel, but providing people who are staying in dorms with no privacy to dress is a bit much, because you can't hang your clothes inside the shower stall. There was no hand soap in the bathroom all three days of our stay, despite telling them to refill it. And they charged nearly 40 eur a night for a single bed in an 8 person dorm.

Even with five other people in my room, I felt as if I was in a hotel. The beds were extremely comfy and clean. The bathrooms had excellent water pressure and were well maintained and spacious. The hostel kitchen provides cheap DELICIOUS meals and they treat you like a VIP guest. The staff is always asking what they can get for you and the breakfast is delicious. Definitely worth the money. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The receptionists majísimos, charming and very attentive. The rooms are very clean and the beds are made of visco or something very similar. A very good atmosphere. Without a doubt, I would repeat.

We had an excellent experience. Best of all is the staff and the service. Were lovely helped us with everything, we had some problems with the arrival and the room that we were assigned, and the young man on the reception was very attentive to our limits and helped us with everything to make our stay perfect. Like the young woman in the café was lovely and made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.

This hostel is just beautiful, so clean and modern, and very well designed. It is in a great location in stunning San Sebastian and our dorm even had a wonderful view of the town and the ocean. The common spaces are welcoming and a great breakfast is included. The best thing by far however, is the staff. I have stayed in a lot of hostels but I have never encountered anything comparable to the warmth, kindness and hospitality provided by Iratxe. Iratxe absolutely made our trip, giving us the most amazing local insights and suggestions for what to do on each day. On so many levels she really went above and beyond in welcoming us and treating us like friends. I cannot wait to go back to Koisi, and would recommend it to everyone! :)
