Highly recomended, vintage like place Next to the sea and historical downtown.

Quirky artwork and antiques throughout and then all you need in a good hotel. Much better than your average 2star.

Good situation near the beach and the city center. Great stay! Excellent breakfast served at the table. In short perfect.

Family hotel close and very professional. Very friendly and efficient staff. They have a very nice roof terrace. Clean and spacious room. The ones that overlook the Paseo de Reding are a bit noisy and the air conditioning works well but it is old and also noisy. Hotel recommended for location and treatment received.

Lovely boutique hotel. Room was small but totally adequate. Public areas beautiful. Roof terrace with sun lounger and great views. Good breakfast, friendly staff and local restaurants. Short walk to the sea.

A wonderful quirky and unique hotel — lovingly cared for with beautiful eclectic mix of furniture — someone has an eye for detail and it shows. Excellent friendly service. It was a delight to stay there! The beds were firm but really comfortable. The roof terrace is a lovely place to enjoy the sun and relax. Breakfast was plentiful, personally served and plentiful. The freshly home baked cakes were a lovely touch. I would highly recommend staying here even though the bedrooms could to with a little bit of renovation. It’s really a charming place!

The best hotel we ever visited. Very close to the beach. An amazing view from the roof garden. The rooms are ery big, comfortable and clear. The services are excellent. The staff very kind. I liked the decoration with the paintings everywhere. The breakfast is the best and there is so much food we cannot eat all. We stayed for five days in April 2018 and we have already booked to go again on July for holidays. Theodoros, Anastasia.

I can't understand the negative entries here! In the evening there was hot water, with us it was not noisy and the hotel is very very clean. Those who do not like the style of the hotel must stop in a big check-in where it is overflowing people. The hotel is a very charming old style to feel good!
We come here again this year and are thrilled! Staff, breakfast (egg, jam and cold cuts, butter, cereal, tea, coffee, croissant, buns and sweets). And rooms as well as the location. If you want to have a hustle and bustle you can take the bus 5 minutes and if you want to rest then you stay there. ;)

I needed a hotel at short notice near to the hospital to be with a family member. Hotel California were so friendly from the first time I contacted them. They found me a lovely, perfectly cleaned room with everything you would need for a short stay. They could not be more helpful including helping me to call taxis, find somewhere convenient to eat nearby and get back to the airport. This place is perfect for a solo traveller, safe for women travelling alone and a little bit quirky. Highly recommend & thanks to the hotel for looking after me at a difficult time x.

Really liked this lovely small family run hotel. Owner and staff lovely, spotless everywhere, good room and great bathroom. Air conditioning and safe. Lovely breakfast, very close to beach and historic centre, bus stop outside, roof terrace and front terrace. Big plus which deserves another star rating is the amazing ground floor shower room ideal for those with late flights. Will recommend highly to friends and wouldn't stay anywhere else if I return.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and the location was ideal. The rooftop terrace was beautiful and we were only a 5 minute walk over the the beach. We could walk in to the city centre in 25 mins for dinner. The breakfast was generous and tasty! I would stay again!

The hotel is very decent with basic requirements. Very neat and also close to the beach. And the hospitality is very good. I would recommend the place as is close to any tourist destinations in Malaga.

We stayed here in Feb 2016 and found the place lovely. We are back in spain again and decided to stay at the hotel California again. We were impressed on our first visit but the hotel has now had a great refurb. Which they tell me was finished in March this year. The love of this place first time round was its quirky boutique feel. Having done the refurb, it has not lost its authenticity at all. The lounge and dining space looks and feels so much better with classy unique t…ouches to the decor. The hotel itself offered us a really nice comfortable clean room (204) with a generous sized bathroom and lots of toiletries It is so close to all that you need to be close to at a reasonable price. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room but m partner popped downstairs and came back having been given a breakfast tray full of tea and coffee so we were happy with that. Breakfast times were very generous at 8-11am as was checkout at 12:30 which I thought was great albeit we were back on our bikes to Nerja for 11:15 The breakfast is something else. Some might like the cooked breakfast but just the lovely way in which they delivered you warm breads, croissants, homemade doughnuts, along with muesli, yougurts, cheeses, hams and fresh fruit was delightful. Hot tea and coffee was plentiful and boiled eggs cooked to perfection were just another addition if you could possible fit them in. We cycled from Nerja to Malaga, and space was made for our bikes in the garage.

Small, quiet, and modest hotel is located a bit far from the historic center of Malaga. Our room, 207, was not small and the bathroom was in the middle of it. All clean and well kept, with air conditioning, TV and Wi-Fi. Good attention of the receptionist and has many details of the last century (decoration, switches, the method to raise or lower the blind…) that gives it a vintage touch and different from the rest of hotels in the area. Ideal for those looking for something economical and different in Malaga.

Hotel of family character, unpretentious, but without excessively high prices, which perfectly fulfils its function. In addition, it is small and that, to me, I like it.

Good location in a very nice area of the city centre, a 10 minute walk from the old town. Even shorter walk to Muelle Uno, which is a nice and popular harbour area. And the beach is just two blocks down the road. Very friendly staff, clean and great value for money.

Hotel nearby, room pleasant with its terrace with view on the sea. Hearty breakfast and varied, I love the ham. The staff is very nice and always there to make your stay enjoyable.

The staff is lovely, the rooms cleaned very well daily, location is five minutes away from some great cafes and ten from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, quiet location and great decor, I will definitely come back.

We stayed there for one night in November of 2015. The staff and the hotel are excellent! Perfect location to the beach and local restaurants are close by. The continental breakfast was excellent as well. Will be going back this November and staying longer!

Hotel in standard, external access does not have elevator and there is no parking. In Some days parking the car can be really hard.

Hotel close to downtown and the beach, well connected by bus. Without parking. The service very friendly and helpful.

It is ok. Not too close to the Center but not far. Breakfast well only some very expensive staff not very friendly reception, in Holy week. Generally recommended.

Stayed last week with my sister in law and friend had triple room which was immaculate. Hotel in a great position nice two minute walk to the beach at Malagueta, the pier, bullring and many other attractions and parks and to the many lovely restaurants and shops. Lovely roof top with sea views. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return!

There go my wedding journey 39 years ago and now the seen and excites me.
