Review of K Stay Blue Boat Myeongdong 2*

My friend and I gave the reviews the benefit of the doubt and decided to book this hostel for our stay in Seoul for 5 nights. Upon arrival, we had difficulty finding the place, and when we finally arrived, we welcome by steep flight of stairs. We had to carry our luggage up. Upon checking in, we were told that the request for the beds we wanted (which we wrote in a month ago and was approved via email) was not fulfilled at the check in. The receptionist called the owner, and the owner was not apologetic and did not want to own up at first about the fact that he agreed to our request in the email. He did NOT attempt to make an effort to make it up to us, but just ask us to accept whatever beds he has to offered. At no point of time he used a nice and apologetic tone, but instead in a way "reprimanded" us and said that we had too much expectations. We compromised and try to give HIM solutions instead (which should be the other way round), but he wanted to make us to pay more for the solution we gave him. The service given was horrendous from the start and we definitely did not feel that our trip will be worthwhile or memorable at all from the way he treated us from the beginning. As such, of course he would not want to refund us our money, hence we decided to leave on the spot and search for another hotel. It was definitely a waste of time and money on this hostel and I do not recommend to anyone at all. The next day, we were greeted by a "No Show" email from him. We did show up, just that he just wanted to cover up his mistakes so that we could not pursue the matter to get back our money. Such poor service and poor quality of thinking.
