Just love my home away from home — THE BEST STAFF EVER!

What amazing staff. From the moment you step into the hotel you meet the friendliest staff so very helpful and always smiling. Everone asks if you are ok and go beyond their duty to assist. They are the most considerate staff I know.

Worst hotel ever! Guests were making noise all night, banging on doors and disturbing my sleep! Never going back there… felt like I was in a hostel not a hotel. Felt very unsafe. Wish the hotel could monitor the guests. I called twice to complain about the noise and nothing was done!

The staff are WONDERFUL. All of them. 5 star service. They go above and beyond and then some more. I will ALWAYS stay here when in George, it's like a second family. And it's very conveniently located in the centre of town.

Wow I feel like I am home. Really this is home away from home. Everyone is friendly in there. It is really a lovely place.

Always extremely friendly. Always good service. Never a problem getting a reservation. They always greet with a smile and I have stayed there over 55 times so it is definitely a good place to stay also very central.

Staff was friendly and the rooms weren't terrible, but the Internet was slow as hell and charged at 100ZAR per 250MB. This is absolutely ludicrous in 2018. Also, they advertise free parking, but what they mean is there's a public parking in front of them. The private parking, they'll charge you 40ZAR for.

The MOST friendly staff I have come across. They are friendly and accommodating from the first step into the door. Though the hotel is not the most luxurious I've seen, it is neat and tidy and the staff make you want to come back again. Well done and with great appreciation thank you.

The protea hotel in George provide a high level of service. The rates are good and breakfast is always a plus. I like coming here for work because when I return to my room after a long day of work. I am welcomed to a clean refreshed room. That a big plus in my book. The place is very well decorated and excellent living conditions.

Despite arriving after 2pm room was not ready, and once it was supposedly cleaned there was still toothpaste all over the taps in the bathroom. The bed matrass in Room 116 was the worst worn out, lopsided and I kept rolling off the bed all night. Woke up tired and not refreshed — would never stay at this hotel again!

Friendly staff, Donaine and Alfred made our stay the best ever. Alfred made me the best cappuccino, which I was tempted to ask for it every day. The hotel's refund process is quite cumbersome. They couldn't give me my money immediately. They can go and learn from Builders Warehouse. No accounts department is needed…

Very nice and cosy place but there are no bar fridges.

Rooms are cosy but can be a bit more modern. Only 5 of the rooms are fitted with a bar fridge out the plus minus 50 rooms. The passage carpets looks worn and the rooms lets in a lot of noise. The breakfast buffett is very uninspiring and doesn't cater for everyone's dietary requirements. Staff on the other hand is extremely helpful and friendly.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They will do whatever they can to Make things more convenient for you. The entire hotel is clean with lovely decor. It is situated in close proximity to a variety of restaurants and on the "Go George" route. The breakfast is a medium variety, but the food is sinfully delicious I had two faults with the place. The room walls are a bit too thin and I'm not a fan of the bath/shower. I would definitely return to this hotel.

They met all my needs especially providing a pillow and extra blanket for my 4 month old babe.

Had a pleasant stay. Breakfast was delicious. And the staff very friendly and accommodating even with my very late arrival.

Awesome experience! Rooms neat and tidy with fresh air filling the room, personal card to welcome me from JJ and team. Radio on when entering the room took away the lonely feeling. Most friendly staff ever at reception. A real Wow experience.
