Wonderful staff, beautiful lodges and the most spectacular sightings on the game drives!

We experienced some wonderful service from all the staff. They are friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful. Our game ranger Erin was so knowledgeable and we had a great time on the game drives.

Amazing animals game drives and the perfect location to stay.

We celebrated our daughter’s 14th birthday and special attention was made by the staff to make it super enjoyable. Staff are wonderful and our game driver made our trip incredible.

What an amazing experience I had with my partner at this lodge. I planned a birthday plus a proposal with them and they were supportive and came to the party at full force throughout our stay. All the plans we had were executed with precision and passion all thanks to Tessa and Amy (managers) and chef Micheal, as well as the rest of the staff😍 service was exceptional from arrival to departure, extremely friendly staff and very helpful. Oh let me not forget Kyle (our ranger), brilliant stuff, learnt a lot during our game drives. Some waiters did not even knock off after their day shift on Saturday because they were part of the grand finale season engagement which went absolutely phenomenal. I really appreciate you all and will certainly see you again soon. If anyone is looking to meditate and surround themselves with good bish breeze and great service, book at ivory lodge ❣️ And the Spa was outstanding ❣️

Absolutely amazing lodge! Service outstanding. All staff from cleaners to waiters to chef to reception to game guides were amazing and always had smiles on their faces. Game drives were fantastic with so much to see. Guides very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful escape to Ivory Tree game lodge. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The outside shower is just the best-it is private with the best view. Our game drives with Jan were very exciting-he is passionate and very knowledgeable about the bush and the animals.

An outstanding stay at Ivory Tree Game Lodge! There is not anything about it that I could fault if I wanted to. The staff were all amazing, the facilities, amenities, location, extra activities were all exceptional! This is a fantastic place to come and get real value for your money when staying out in the South African bush. The game drives are equally fantastic with experienced and highly knowledgable rangers taking you around the park and giving great information on the many amazing animals that reside there. Brilliant stay made so much better by the best hotel staff here and everywhere — so friendly, so helpful, such good service. The stay is also well organised with morning tea and a game drive, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and another game drive with drinks followed by dinner.

Awesome! The rooms are spacious and very clean. I love the rustic decor. The staff very courteous and accommodating. The food delicious and a large variety to accommodate all palettes and diets. I highly recommend!

We stayed one night here after an amazing 4 nights in another lodge. Sadly it was our last night and we were left disappointed. The staff were friendly though the service was poor. Our biggest disappointment was the game drive. The guide showed no interest, drove up and down the main tarred road and only deviated to find a pride of lions which another ranger called in. We were then left to make our own coffee whilst they made a phone call and then we're driven back to the lodge along the tar road again. My advice is to go elsewhere, for much the same price we stayed in a lodge that couldn't do enough for us, all inclusive and a ranger with over 20 years experience who was amazing. Ivory Lodge sadly made us feel like just another guest in a mass operation going through the motions.

What a fantastic experience we had. The accommodation, food and the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff made it memorable. Also to our Game Ranger Zoe who went out of her way to show us the Big 5. We will certainly recommend Ivory Tree to everyone who wants to travel to the Northern Province. Hope to see you again!

We got to the Ivory Tree Game Lodge, which is located next to Bakgatla Gate and Pilanesberg National Park in the North West Province, South Africa, on August 16, 2016, at 1400hrs, where we had booked to stay for three nights. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed and asked first to have lunch. Our wish was to settle in then eat later, but this lodge staff was adamant. We obliged and were led to the restaurant where we had our meal and some drinks. We were taken aback, however, when we received a bill for the drinks as we made out of the building for our rooms. We were forced to pay for an extra bill for drinks and never received changed of close to seven dollars we never received from the lady who charged us. Never mind that this was an amount we could have used on extra drinks. This incident left us feeling disappointed considering that we had paid for an all-inclusive stay, which made us regret why I had not done good research on the hotel. What is more, everyone kept giving us mysterious stares, which felt creepy. I have been to forty-three countries in the world and have never experienced anything of this nature. Our rooms were quite a distance from the reception. When we got there, we noticed a sign of “Video and Audio Surveillance” in the location and around the area. Concerned for our privacy, we asked the General Manager why they were making audio recordings from the rooms to which he cited security as the reason.

Our stay at Ivory Tree was amazing! We loved every moment of it! Our room was perfect and the food and staff were great. We were even lucky to be able to experience a braai under the stars. Our game drives at this lodge were spectacular! Our guide, Evan, was truly passionate about all of the wildlife we saw and we had so much fun learning about the area.

I really enjoy all our annual stays at Ivory Tree. The lodge is just beautiful and tranquil. You're surrounded by the bush and animals. The food is okay, but it's not the reason I go back. I love the game drives, the rangers are really educated about animals and go out of their way to ensure you spot a good number of game.

Even though you paying 5 star services, facilities are 4 star and service is between 2 and 3 stars. Staff have big chips on their shoulders!. the morning game drive is way too early9 we hardly saw anything for the first 2 hours) and very little gain for such an extreme time, when you supposed to be on holidays. Be aware that some rooms do not have smoke detectors so make sure you confirm this. But if I had my time again id definitely stay somewhere else.

The Ivory Tree Game Lodge checks all the boxes you want from a safari. To begin with, our game drives were great! Our ranger (Vincent) was very friendly and made you feel very comfortable while out on the drive. The lodge is located in the North-Eastern part of the Pilanesberg National Park and I can definitely say that this side of the park has no issue with wild life sightings. We were lucky enough to see the Big 5 and one of my most special memories is seeing a adult Leopard only a few meters from the vehicle. It's a bit of a bigger lodge, but not so large that you lose the personal touch so it's great for couples, families or groups of friends. The rooms areas are also still very private and while there you will hardly notice that there are other guests around. Surrounding all of the rooms are beautiful bushes and trees, and the rooms itself was more than big enough for 2 people to comfortably relax and unwind in. All meals are served at the main building and I can honestly say, the food was great! There is a big outside pool area where you can relax and the lodge also provides other recreational activities to keep you busy while not on a game drive. Something that was really special for me was when we got back from our evening drive we were welcomed back with some of the staff playing on African drums. Thereafter we had a drink and continued watching the drums show while warming up at a big fire just before dinner.

Spent four days at this wonderful game lodge. Excellent staff! General Manager Sarie who was always nearby to help or assist. Dyllan our safari driver and guide who knew everything about the area, the animals, the trees, what elephants ate, as well as what "bush take away" was. Leslie, in the dining room whose service was impeccable, and all the others who served us. Add to that, the bar, the front desk and housekeeping who kept our cottage spotless. There were so many other people who made our stay special, I'm sorry I do not know all the names. The food was wonderful, plentiful well displayed, whether you wanted game such as Kudu, Crocodile and Ostrich, or chicken and BBQ for the less adventurous. You can't go wrong visiting here.

Stunning lodge with amazing outside showers, big enough to have everything but at the same time feel intermet and exclusive.

Great team form the kitchen, house keeping to front desk make for an awesome experience. Our ranger was knowledgeable and really made every encounter interesting, from the common game to the more unique sighting. All in all a very special experience.

I highly recommend Ivory Tree Game Lodge. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. The game drives are awesome we had a fantastic Ranger. Chirese went out of her way to make sure we saw all the cats wild dogs and many more animals. The foot was superb the accommodation was amazing with an out door shower. I will be going back again.

This has been my best trip to Pilanesburg. Saw four of the Big 5 on this trip. No Rhino. The ivory tree lodge was amazing.

Awesome venue with friendly staff and 5 star service. The rooms are fantastic to stay in, very comfortable king size double bed with curtain to stop mosquito and other insects they may have entered the room when the doors are open. Rooms have a powerful air con that keeps the rooms nice and cool. Small bar fridge and espresso machine with a variety of coffee and tea to choose from. Bathroom also has a huge big bath and double wash hand basins. An outside open air shower (under the stars) yet still very private. Rooms also have lockable safe and plenty cupboard space for clothes. Outside patio area with an awesome view. Shuttle service too and from the rooms and your vehicle to the reception and dining area. On arrival all the necessary forms are at the ready to be filled in. Reception area leads into the dinning areas and Boma with pool and outside bar area. There is also an amazing spar area. The 5 star quality food is very tasty and a large variety to choose from. The venue also has a variety of entertainment for the family that includes Quad rides and archery. We were also allocated our very own personal Game driver Tumi who took us into the park during our stay every day. Morning and evening trips with Tumi was outstanding. Tumi has a wealth of knowledge of the flora and fauna. We got to see 4 of the big 5 and we were also treated to snacks and drinks during the trips. Tumi thank you for your hospitality we loved every trip with you.

Superb Five Star Game Lodge. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed top notch hospitality during our stay. They have fine cocktails and offer two guided game drives per day on the inclusive package.

Brushing our teeth with leafs to testing poo … so make sure you get him.
100 percent we will return one day!

Superb place to stay inside the Pilanesberg parc. I hardly recommend this game lodge for everything, staff is kind, food is delicious, game drive are interesting, beds are very comfy… a must stay!

Gorgeous lodge with safari and eat under the stars.

The best place ever and I would recommend it to anyone. The Staff is impressive to guests and they are the best. The Facility is a top class.

A great place if you have a private bungalow. We had a great safari experience all days. We met 4 of the Big Five! There were a lot of rhinos, giraffes, a group of lions and a leopard were just meters from our truck, elephants, hypos, we even accidentally catch a small crocodile while eating a bird! Due to circumstances we had our bungalow changed with an exclusive suit which was really the most awesome looking place! There's one But — the bed doesn't have a cover to keep you safe from bugs falling from the beautiful natural roof.

Great place for Safari to park Reserve. The suites are equipped with an indoor swimming pool. Two safaris a day, one at 6 is one at 4pm.

Intriguing Location without a shadow of a doubt.
Lodges located in the middle of the forest although around these you could treat a little more.
Wonder the outdoor shower in a small box outside the bathroom and without the roof.

Very nice lodge! There are 2 Game Drives (5:30/16:30) these last 3h each. Pilanesberg is a huge area and if you're lucky you get to see all the Big5s.
The lodge itself is very nice. All wishes will be fulfilled by the employees.
Each guest is assigned a ranger with which the ride is made and eaten together in the evening.

Excellent accomidation for a family of 5 on a budget, only lacks the affordability.

Me and my family won a prize 7months ago at Coca Cola… so they said to us we can choose between the Coast or a safari so we chose the safari… and we dont regret it for a second because it was our first time in rustenburg at the logde and believe me it was amazing the games drives and the spa treatments… and of course the food was delicious… I would suggest anybody to try out this logde because the staff is very nice and helpful… I love this place and my 3year old boy is still talking about the logde when he is looking at our pics…

Great place to stay for a couple of days! We saw everything on our game drives except for an elephant — there are hundreds in the park though. Rooms are great, food is great staff are friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in December 2014. Recommend packing a jacket as it was cool in the morning and evening, we just assumed it would be warm.

I had visited the Ivory Tree for 2 nights along with my wife during the second week of Feb. The rooms were nice and so was the hospitality and the food. However, we were shocked when we saw our safe deposit box in the room open when we opened the closet in the morning when we were checking out. All our valuables along with cash were scattered inside and USD 300 were missing. We suspect it must have been one of the cleaners who were able to open it but we still don't know how. Despite this incident I paid my due charges upon checkout trusting that this issue will be dealt with seriously. They did little to compensate us or consider anything for us despite our complaints and several follow ups. I would not return and recommend everyone to be careful and keep a close watch on your belongings during your stay there.
