We had the pleasure of visiting Nedile Lodge last week, as a family of 3 adults. The booking process was easy and handled in an efficient way by Rina. From the moment we were met by John, Dominique and the staff to the moment we left the reserve, we were treated with so much love and respect. The game drives and walks were super exciting, we were never disappointed, because John made sure there was always something amazing to show us. He is a very knowledgeable guide and has a real passion for what he does. The food and presentation thereof was out of this world! Rooms were very clean and bath amenities were of the very best quality, also white fluffy towels to wrap yourself in after a long day and super comfy beds. The views from the rooms and main lodge were incredible. But what made our stay fabulous was most definitely the staff. Thank you for making each day one to remember, the little spoils and the way you took care of us. YOU, the staff of Nedile, that is who Nedile is. Keep it up, this was our second visit, and we will be most definitely be back for more.

I was really disappointed when we arrived at the lodge. I can't believe they have a 5 star status and cater to international guests. The lodge opened in 2003 and I am almost certain they have not changed anything since then. In my opinion they need to renovate the whole lodge and most certainly the rooms. The rooms does not have aircon, Wi-Fi, or a television — which in my opinion should be included if you claim to be 5 star. The manager could obviously see my dissatisfaction because she discussed me with her staff and unfortunately for her, I overheard her. After that incident the staff's attitude changed towards me and the whole weekend was ruined. That was really unprofessional. I have to add that John was really friendly and he is an excellent guide. We were lucky to see the elephants drinking out of the pool. It was really disappointing to be mislead by positive reviews. I will not return to this lodge and I would not recommend it.

I have been to Nedile multiple times and the staff has ALWAYS exceeded my expectations — and those of my friends. I have already booked two more return visits next year. Most highly recommended!

Top staff and place to stray.

Fabulous place where you are totally looked after with amazing Safari Guides who are so skilled, knowledgeable and passionate about the animals that you always experience something breathtaking, adventurous and so exciting on every single game drive. Simply amazing! Highly recommended!

Extremely luxurious with great friendly staff and an exceptional game guide. Barrents VanRooyen Is one of the most talented guides and knowledgeable about all species. His interaction with wildlife brings out the best in them and also ensures his clients are noninvasive to animals. We were lucky to see a failed lion pride hunting Zebra very close up but they didn’t even know our vehicle was there.

Every aspect is carefully thought of before you arrive. The entire staff is A+++. I just spent a wonderful week at the lodge and will rate it as 12 stars out of 10.

I honestly don't think I will be able to easily top the vacation I spent at Nedile Lodge. The luxury of the accommodations, the attentiveness of the staff, the delicious meals and the exciting daily game drives… it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Dominique, John and team took superb care of our group. I wish I could go back every year!

Breath taking views, friendly staff, great food, beautiful Lodge.

We visit Nedile Lodge in July 2018. This lodge is exelent a 10 out of 10! Dominique, John and the rest of the staff are giving you all the best service that you can imagine. I’m not sure I have the vocab to do this place justice. So many superlatives: breathtaking, magical, sophisticated, beautiful, home from home… Dominique and John are fabulous hosts and it’s the little touches that matter… wake up calls with coffee/hot choc; hot water bottles on the early drives (in winter)! Being greeted after every drive! Amazing cooked breakfast afterwards and even more amazing lunches and dinners (thanks Mapula) ; warmed beds and open fires! Great service — subtly attentive — G&T always there at the right moment and some lovely wines! I haven’t even mentioned the sun deck (where we watched Zebra, baboons and warthogs play), the vista, and the infinity pool, the gym… The safari drives were equally outstanding and John went the extra mile so we saw the Big 5 and more — even a family of cheetah! Often very very very close-up. This is an incredible reserve (Welgevonden) with fantastic ecological management and results — a number of near extinct species are thriving. Memories for life were made last week. I usually say never go back to the same place twice but I will be making an exception for Nedile Lodge. Thanks Dominique, John, Mapula and the rest of the team!

Truly rustic and private lodge situated on plateau with stunning views. Very personal service and nicely prepared food. Great value for money in a big 5 game park 36000 hectare… 2drives of 3 hours a day with knowledgeable game ranger. A place to come back to…

Fantastic bush experience. Friendly staff who go the extra mile make this one of the top lodges I’ve stayed in at Welgevonden.

Our stay at Nedile Lodge has come to an end but what a fantastic time we had, 6 safaris with Barend and saw numerous animals and birds. The biggest highlight was seen a cheetah with 3 cubs 4 months old eating their kill only 20 metres in front of our land cruiser. We were fortunate to see them again this morning walking through the game reserve.
The second biggest was watching juvenile elephants playing in the water whilst another through a tantrum, typical teenagers. Then come the graceful giraffes, a lion, plenty of rhinos and their young, numerous zebras, elands, and so many other animals. We also enjoyed the coffee or hot chocolate with amarula in the mornings and the gin and tonics at sunset the special touches. The fire in the room at night and the hot water bottle in your bed along with chocolates and a story each night make it an experience not to be missed and hopefully we will be back again in the future.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Nedile lodge. We found all of the staff to be friendly, helpful and very professional. The lodge is beautiful and has stunning views! The rooms are spacious and private and overlook the majestic Welgevonden bush. Our game-ranger, Barend, was knowledgeable & informative, and clearly has a genuine respect and love for the bush and the wildlife. I would certainly recommend this lodge to anyone wanting some time in nature, some peace & quiet, and good service and pampering.

Nedile Lodge is beautiful, the room was stunning, extremely comfortable and the extra little touches like lighting the fire in the evening, the turn down service and the little notes and bubbly made it even more special. The food was outstanding, very talented chef and great presentation. The service impeccable. The pool was lovely, if not a little cold. The drives were fantastic, Mike is a great guide, relaxed, patient and knowledgable. My favourite moments were the rhino Mum and baby, the elephant visiting for breakfast and drinking out of the swimming pool, visiting the elephants with babies on the plain and 2 beautiful lioness on our final drive. Fabulous trip, we would definitely return.
