A very rustic cottage let down by the lack of interest from the owners as they are trying to sell the property. I should point out that there is a B&B on the property and a couple of other cottages but this review is for the 10 sleeper self-catering cottage in which we stayed in August 2018. There were lots of issues that rather spoiled the experience for us. The main problems were : 1) They had not prepared the place for our arrival and there were large spiders in all the rooms (especially around the beds) so we had to clean. 2) Heaters were not allowed and only 2 electric blankets were provided. Firewood was at your own expense. 3) There was only one shower which was 1 square metre in size. There was a large tub in the main bathroom but the door of that bathroom would not close at all due to swollen doorposts (and the tub had spiders in it on 2 occasions). 4) It does sleep 10 but 6 of the beds are in the loft (think attic) and the lounge area (with the invaluable fireplace) was too small to accommodate 10 at once. On the positive side: The place has a nice big yard for dogs and children to play in. Roads were good except for the last 200m but there is not much to do around Underberg. The nearby SuperSpar (5km) is a lifesaver though. Overall I would not stay there again unless the cottage gets the renovation it is badly in need of.
