Wonderful quaint restaurant to spend a relaxing evening. Great food and the staff are very helpful. They made our Special Day (wedding anniversary) something to remember for a while. Thanks so much to Ngubane!

Oh my goodness as a couple from Johannesburg we are fussy, but this was a wonderful experience! We wanted a charming place to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant staff went out of their way to place a reserve sign, a candle and some drinks to make the evening special. I'm not a big rump fan, but it was the BEST tastiest rump I've had in a long time, if not ever! Their spinach and butternut was mouth watering. Compliments to the chef, Terry and Ngubane that made our celebration so special. The food is tasty, the restaurant heart warming and the service excellent. We will come back for more!

Unkempt grounds, Management sorely lacking, food especially the breakfast is sad. Tennis courts are in shocking condition, and general running of the establishment is below par. Accommodation is lovely and comfortable, the restaurant staff are welcoming and friendly. Definitely will not be back.

Golf course was horrible and so was restaurant staff's service. Bar lady was pleasant.

Haven't been to Monks in quite a while, Love the new changes and upgrades. Don, Mel and team are doing a really great job. Bought an awesome Sicilian Pizza from the new pizzarea at entrance… very yummy!

If you are looking for that peace and quiet. Tranquility is what you'll get. Super friendly & service is excellent. Really a lovely place!

The pub and restaurant has been revamped and staff were very friendly.

An amazing place to just go and stay. There is a lot of fun activities to do with or without the family. With delicious food and very friendly staff, this is truly a great place to be.

Well firstly when we were handed the keys there was no hot water available and the gas was finished. Horrible gas stove with no electronic ignition. Towels not replaced after housekeeping. Very boring resort not enough actvities with a hopeless games room. Overall service disappointing. Not warm and welcoming towards residents. If you are looking for a shocking cold shower in winter please visit this resort.

Amazing views. It is so serene it feels like home away from home. The staff are friend and the units are so comfortable.

Relaxing… beautiful mountain views from my room overlooking the golf course. Enjoyed the beautiful sounds if the birds. Topped by a wonderful facial at their spa. All staff are friendly and helpful.

Great facilities, location and ambience… very good menu and great quality food and service. Their pub is being upgraded and will open 22 June… look forward!

The restaurant served delicious food.

Staff were lovely and the environment was very home like and comfortably. We got to watch the royal wedding with friends while a few did a quick 9 hole round. Thank you guys my wife and I had not been away from our little town for a while. Keep up the good work as it was such a treat for us.

Good value for money — old established Berg resort. 9 hole golf course which has been upgraded.

I'm currently staying the resort and the attention from staff especially the restaurant staff is overwhelming. We are a Muslim family of 10 and require halaal food staff have been so accommodating especially the chefs, making menus that are not usually on the buffet list and doing our foods separately in the kitchen. Overall everything is 10/10 Definetly see myself visiting over and over again.

Peaceful, relaxing and scenic resort with affordable accommodation for young and old. Rooms clean, spacious and well furnished. 9 hole golf course great for casual golfers.

We took our family of four (two adults and two kids of 9 and 11) and on arrival our unit 36 smelt like disinfectant; decor was cold and bland reminds me of cheap motel. Chalets back to back not free standing. No mountain views only view of golf course which is fine for some. The verandah was far too small for any form of entertaining and disproportionate for a six sleeper chalet. Kitchen was not equipped with braai tongs and wine opener and fridge had no door shelves to place liquids in (milk etc) and no dishwasher; ceiling fans that work in reverse high to low and were so noisy one couldn't sleep and low setting was still set so high it blew ones hairs off; restaurant only really good for breakfast but needs massive improvement and no a la carte available for the week we were there only old school roast and oily vegetables and bland salads — need to update menu and buffet to more contemporary style healthy food. Basically the resort needs updating to more current timeshare and country lodge trends. Ngwenya Lodge in the Kruger is a great example of budget holidays but where every box is ticked. I did not feel that at R2450 per day I got value for money for me it was worth not more than R1450 per day for what we got. I would rather pay R3900 per day and go to Champagne Castle or Sports self catering. That said ALL the staff and management were really lovely and accommodating; very kind, helpful and sweet.
