The hall we had our function in was very old and outdated, the chairs were very uncomfortable. The starters were served ice cold and the main meal was not nice at all. The bar had little to no stock and was very slow.

I had my bridal shower at this venue. There was not enough staff to help out. The bar was not equipped and they ran out of everything, there was barely any stock to start off with. They added extra prices on things that was meant to be included.

Everything!, Best wedding venue, the garden, the rooms, the food! The friendly staff, compassionate people! I had the best dinner the night befor my wedding in 2020 and a year after today the 28th of November 2021 again the best dinner date! Thank you daisy and stevie as well as all your staff. 🌹💐

We had my son's 21st birthday celebration there. They decorated the place so beautiful, we were very impressed. The food was delicious too. Thank you. We will see you again.

Definitely a place to return to. From the lovely rooms to the peaceful surrounds. Everything highly recommended. The awesome breakfasts give a kickstart to the day. The restaurant with its tasty meals will beat any eatery in town.

It was the most important day of my life and I could not even bath before as people could not book in early to shower or do their hair. We had to pay people back as accommodation not sorted and we where very unhappy.

Fantastic morning spent having breakfast at this beautiful gem. Thank you to Stevie and the staff for a tour of the stunning garden and the delicious breakfast. Will definitely be back for more!

This is our third stay here. Stevie is so welcoming and picked us up from the airport, only 15 minutes away. Best wedges in town and super big rooms and beds. A lovely start to our holiday x.

Food was amazing and beautiful venue but service was atrocious! For that I definitely would not recommend this venue!

The perfect over night in JHB. Price includes airport pick-up and drop-off which is a deal breaker for me. I have used them while travelling from the coast to overseas, several times and they are never a disappointment. Delicious food, amazing service, beautiful rooms and a huge garden to disappear into. This place is perfect for the solo business traveler between flights or the romantic couple for a few days getaway.

Very good hospitality. Great food. Beautiful choice of creative decorating. The extraordinary gardening and plant variety defines a wonderful experience of South Africa.

They were extremely accommodating. We arrived much earlier than check in time but they cleaned our room as soon as it was vacant so we could sleep (we'd just flown in from the US). Stevie was wonderful and the entire staff did a great job of anticipating every need. We also ate lunch there… terrific. And you misty get dessert too. I personally recommend the mango ice cream and the new dessert they are developing with vanilla ice cream and dates. Wonderful place!

My family and I had a wonderful stay here a couple of weeks back. We missed our flight and had to make last minute accommodations. The owner was very friendly and even picked us up from the airport and gave us a warm meal upon arrival (it was quite late and this was a welcome surprise)! The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and I would definitely recommend this lodge to friends and family. The grounds are absolutely stunning (an added bonus) and it is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee in the well-manicured gardens. If we fly in/out of JNB airport and need a place to stay, we will definitely stay here again!

Steve was very friendly and accommodating right from the start. We were treated very well. Good food, good drink and good people. Me and my wife went in June of 2015 and would definitely revisit. Beautiful place.

Great value and more than adequate facilities. The hosts Stevie and Daisy are wonderful. Superb meals on offer both for dinner and breakfast. If you are looking for a good place where you feel at home try Blue Mango Lodge.

Great place to stay. Decently priced, very centrally located, and provide breakfast. Not far from OR Tambo airport, maybe 15-20 minute drive. Mr. Steve and his wife are great hosts and help in any which way they can. A definite and quality option, if staying in Jo’Burg.

This place is magical! We loved it. It is a little slice of heaven close to the airport. The hosts, Stevie and Daisy were very informative and welcoming. The place is very large so you can walk around. Our room was comfortable and had extra outlets, etc. Very clean. The food was excellent. My steak was better than "Tribes. " They had homemade Mango ice cream. The bar was very cool and Stevie makes a mean Sundowner (gin and tonic)! What you would think on an old plantation or estate. The hosts arranged a tour and gave us great ideas. They also had tons of books and resources. This is a very safe place. An added benefit, Daisy is a fashion designer and I splurged on some pretty awesome "threads"! Great place. Also can be used for large functions like weddings!

What a wonderful guesthouse to stay at. The rooms are clean and the owners are very friendly and helpful. I was taken there after midnight since the guesthouse where I was suppose to stay at, never collected me from the airport (Airport Inn Guesthouse). The owners of Blue Mango was already sleeping, but they didn't hesitate to take me in and accommodate me! Thank you for being special people!

A unique experience, high levels of attention to detail. Was there for a training course. To be highly recommended. Feels like you are on a "white cloud".

Coming back from Thailand with a 2 year old is very very exhausting, but knowing that your shuttle is ready and waiting for you on arrival is just a bonus. From the minute we met Stevie to our sleep over at the lodge everything was just perfect! Lovely place, delicious food and such warm hearted people. Would recommend this place to anyone!

After a thousand problems at the airport in Johannesburg we were recommended to spend the night here. A beautiful place very quiet and with first class people! Especially to get the stress out of losing a flight!

Blue Mango is a great place to stay at. This is a quiet place in a big garden. Food is amazing and you feel at home there. Close to the airport but this is more than an overnight lodge. Rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Wi-Fi is good. This is my third time here and I will come back!

OK I was hungry as I don't eat too much on international long haul flights from the US, but I've just had the BEST cooked breakfast for a long time! Rooms very comfortable, location quiet and secure but close to ORT Int Airport, and Stevie and Daisy relaxed, and very welcoming hosts. Also easiest pick-up from airport: in all a big 5* thumbs up!

Steve came to pick us up for free at the airport, the room was very clean and very nice, the place is quiet and there is a lot of greenery as well as a small playground for children, breakfast is included in the price, it is very Hearty. This is an address to recommend, for the price the services are quite up to par.

On the 19th of November 2017 I got married at The Blue Mango Lodge, I merely had 3 days to plan my wedding. Although we had already done much planning from China everything has to come together in just three days. There is no doubt that my wedding was super stressful, there were many challenges and obstacles yet despite it all, Stevie and his team pulled it off to host an incredibly beautiful wedding. Quintin and I are most grateful to you and your staff for all of your efforts and for making it possible. I most certainly recommend this establishment. Many Thanks.

One of the quietest lodges in Johannesburg with its African dish. A Manager Steeve who gives himself for the basic needs of the client. Bravo.

Blue Mango is a really beautiful lodge set in serene surroundings. The owners are personable, warm and welcoming. It’s definitely a place to stay again and again.

We had such an amazing time there! The Lodge itself is beautiful and close to the Airport (convenient)! Stevie (the host) and staff warmly welcomed us upon arrival. TOPS! A good spot and friendly service. Try to avoid the room near the lounge/dining area if you don't want to wake up early with folks walking on the wooden floors in the dining/lounge area.

Great Greater Greatest The service from the start to the end was great. The pick up at the airport was smooth. I did not confirm the time for pickup. When we arrive I call the Lodge and he was there in 10 minutes time. Very easy check inn and check out. The room and bathroom was what we expected. The food was excellent. The drop off at Rhodesfield Gautrain station was at the front door with information to get tickets easily. It is also very quiet to sleep very well. Thanks again Blue Mango Lodge (Steve) for a great time with you.

Stayed here with a group of 20 for a total of 6 nights. Pick up at the airport was smooth, short drive to their lodge. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was included in the room rate, which was very reasonable. The Dinners were delicious as well. Stevie, Daisy, their daughter and staff really made us feel like family. We weren't sure what we wanted to do, but once we made a decision they made every effort to arrange transportation for us. We attended church, went shopping, took the train from Rhodes field station to Rose Bank for the Sunday market which was well worth the effort. Some went to the Lion Park to walk with Lions and see them up close and personal. Others in our group went to the Craddle of mankind. Naturally last minute shopping came up and every time someone changed their plans Stevie was so accommodating and gracious. We truly felt relaxed and enjoyed our Africa holiday. We are already thinking about our next stay at the Blue Mango Lodge.

These people will take care of you no doubt. Top of the line food and services. Highly respectable. Extremely comfortable stay, AMAZING FOOD, and TOP OF THE LINE, relational people. 10/10

My second home!
If you ever find yourself in Johannesburg and need a comfortable, safe, friendly, value for money accommodation, or area to relax because of a long layover, you have to go to the blue mango. When I first found this lodge I was stuck in Johannesburg airport with a delayed flight. Somehow I found this number and the owner Stevie answered, I told him what had happened and he said "don't worry I'll be there in 12 minutes". I was thinking okay, yea yea, africa time, delays etc. 12 minutes on the dot and he was there, he took me to the lodge and It felt like I'd arrived at his home, which he welcomed me into with a smile, a beer and a great home cooked dinner. Then to the room, Fantastic bed, pillows, linen, full satellite TV, great bathroom, wide head shower etc, great friendly staff. I'd hit the jackpot! Now comes the price, for such quality, homely quality, value for money doesn't begin to cover it. Don't waste your time in airport hotels or the ones outside the airport, they rip you off and its just another hotel room. Blue mango is a home which your welcomed into. This was 5 years ago. I haven't stayed anywhere else since then. I recommended to my family, my friends, even my boss. All 10
out of 10. Great place, safe area and drivers to take you and pick you up included in the room rate. No more getting ripped off by taxi drivers. I think you get the idea. It's a hidden gem. Don't miss out if you get caught out.

The only place I stay when I come to Johannesburg! I've stayed at the blue mango lodge many times over the past few years. I have been so impressed by the overall quality, that I consider this lodge to be my second home. I will never stay anywhere else when I come to Johannesburg. Not only will the owner himself, pick you up and take you to the airport (and I mean, on time, every time, rain or sun, day or night), there is no such thing as african time with Steve. The rooms themselves are of great quality, they have full satellite Tv, the most comfy beds and linen I've found on my travels and great food. Then there's the price, you'd expect to pay mid to expensive for what I've just described, on the contrary. Blue mango, for what it provides, it feels like they're given it away. Reasonably priced does not do it justice. So much so, I have recommended this lodge, not just to my colleagues, but all my friends and family. I would have given 6 stars if there were the option. If you come to Johannesburg, you have to stay here. You will not regret it.

The Blue Mango Lodge is in a great location close to Johannesburg airport. The grounds are tranquil with a homely atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and the staff are friendly. The beautiful gardens are full of exotic birds, great trees and a friendly dog. Stevie and Daisy are great hosts who are warm and open. I had a great meal with engaging conversation with them. Stevie has built an awesome fishtank with a variety of exotic fish that adds to the relaxing ambience. There is an authentic hospitality here that a hotel chain cannot achieve. I would not hesitate in recommending this lodge.

We have stayed at the Blue Mango lodge on the last night before leaving South Africa because it is located close to the airport. Excellent room with all comforts. The owner is very friendly and prepared us dinner as we arrived late and we didn't want to leave. Excellent quality / price ratio. Would recommend him to our friends.

Amazing experience with the accommodation and the food. The room was clean and well kept with fresh bedding. The food was prepared with love and very yummy. I missed the connecting flight and ended up to have to stay in Johannesburg on that day. The staffs were very kind and taught be a lot about South Africa. The price is also reasonable. They have a nice restaurant, where you can have wonderful dinner and breakfast. The bar in the lodge was awesome! I had a very nice local beer! It was so nice. When I come to Johannesburg, I want to stay at this lodge again!

Real jewel of a place that I stumbled upon especially after I missed my flight. Steve and Daisy have done a fantastic job with the place I will surely be back soon for a night or 3 next time am in JOHANNESBURG. Thanks guys wish you all the best.

My family and I were visiting relatives in South Africa, it was quite a large gathering and as such there was no room to stay at their home. We ended up staying close by in a lodge called The Blue Mango. It was my first experience of staying in a lodge and I must say that we really enjoyed it. Our room was all we could ask for and more, beds were comfortable, food great and there was a peace and tranquility about the place which we found to be extremely spiritual. It is doubtful that we will ever visit South Africa again but if we ever get the opportunity again we would book in again at the Blue Mango in a heart beat. Thanks Stevie and team for making us feel so relaxed and welcome.

Convenient, cozy and convivial. Four of us spent one night there In July to catch a flight out of O R Tambo the next day and it proved a very good decision. Pick was swift and easy, Steve hefted our bags into his car with ease and and we were at the lodge inside 15 minutes. The rooms were warm and featured tasteful decor and very comfy clean beds. The facilities included an outdoor area for playing pool or darts and an open fire for guests to get around and swap adventures. We made a decision to re-book with Daisy and Steve on our return trip, cancelling a place we had pencil booked, due to the friendly atmosphere, hearty breakfast and meals cooked by staff and the sheer convenience. Compared to staying in a small hotel room, Blue Mango was more like a homestay. Great place! Hope Steve is finding a little more time to relax and enjoy the fruits of his hard work.
