Just a beautiful experience from beginning to end… The grounds are lovely and immaculate! The front desk courteous and so helpful. The food delicious! Willing to accommodate our vegan lifestyle. The wait staff was amazing! One waiter checked on us, asking, "Is everything perfect? " Excellent quality for a very reasonable price. Can't say enough about this place. Will definitely come again. ♥️♥️

Beautiful and relaxing charming hotel.

Group of us booked a table at the restaurant for the 5 course vegan meal. Blown away — felt like you were in a movie scene. Chef outdid himself. Presentation, the deliciousness of the food and the surrounding ambiance made for a wonderful night out. Highly recommended!

Made a reservation for an event that they scheduled they had. They informed just before the event that it was no longer available with no valid excuses. Absolutely poor customer service.

Okay hotel. More like a guesthouse than a hotel. A lot of basic hotel facilities was not available. No telephone on my stay.

Came for a seminar, very chic look and feel but the staff didn't know which room the seminar was in.

Great location, spacious room, beautiful gardens and surrounds. Unfortunately, all this is (quite literally) drowned out by noise. The Quartermain is probably the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. You can hear everything from the neighbors conversation, down to the toilet flushing. The walkway acoustics are terrible and everyone’s doors seem to slam, no soft closing hinges. Won’t be back in a hurry.

My husband often visits this hotel for business. I joined him recently as I also had business to attend to in Gauteng. They upgraded us to a Suite, which was AMAZING! The service is brilliant and all the staff are really attentive to every detail. An all round fantastic experience!

Perhaps better-known as one of the city’s go-to business accommodation venues, this conveniently situated hotel actually has quite the romantic side if you take the time to let management know that you’re visiting with your partner. The che…f Tristan is very talented, and the food was amazing. Because the restaurant staff knew we were there on a date night, we had a nice private table in a cosy nook, scattered with rose petals. The room, similarly, was tailored for romance – from the rose petals on the bed, to the stunning turndown service that included a cheese board, a selection of sweet treats and sparkling wine. Suffice it to say, the stage was set for some bonding… The Quatermain Faircity Hotel now officially carries the Date Night Ideas seal of approval and is a great option for busy couples who want to take advantage of its central location to ensure that there is some cuddle time in the morning before you both get on with your day.

Very good value for money hotel. A bit far from Sandton mall but there is a hotel shuttle that can take you there. The food is decent and the gym is fully equipped. For outdoor lovers the gardens are great!

I was invited to attend several seminars here. The venue we were in was spacious and the sound system and projector worked (often a problem at halls and venues). I arrived early and got to appreciate the hotel's ambience. Although you are in the middle of town, it is difficult to ascertain this merely by looking and listening. I could stand on a balcony and overlook an absolutely verdant area, hearing nothing but birdsong — during the peak of the afternoon rush hour in Johannesburg. This epitomises the atmosphere here for me. The catering was first class too, with the pre-talk snack consisting of a platter of cheese and biscuits (very high quality). Portions were generous. Tea and freshly brewed coffee were available for the duration of the event. During the talks spring water in reusable glass bottles was provided. The service provided was both unobtrusive and ultra-efficient, as well as friendly. All the employees I spoke to were highly fluent in English, more so than the average South African. I managed to be shown a room, and it is clear that this hotel does its guests very well indeed. It is obvious that such a hotel will attract repeat customers, and it is often fully booked. I suggest booking well in advance. Don't bother haggling for discount or other freebies (this only works if the hotel needs your custom and cannot afford to turn you away, which they can here).

A hideaway gem, feels like home but only if your home was an actual castle with all of its intricate workings in top order.

Excellent surprise. Excellent friendly service. Central without having to go the plastic more expensive chains of Sandton/Rosebank. Has an old world feel.

Is a beautiful accommodation. We used to host our clients from this hotel and whenever my friend from Cape Town is in the city he likes staying here.

Loved staying here. Reminds me of Rose Red by Steven King except not creepy at all. Super friendly staff, breakfast spread is next level. Definitely staying here again.

Was pleasantly surprised with this hotel as it wasn’t as expensive as some of the others I considered. In great area from which it’s easy to get around. My room was spacious with pleasant decor. I was thrilled to see a glass water bottle alongside glasses. Can’t understand why other hotels leave plastic bottles in Hotel guest rooms. The breakfast spread was one of the best I have seen. Fresh carrot juice and good quality yogurt in glass jars were also welcomed. It was a sunny morning so I enjoyed taking breakfast outside near the pool. I also had a cake treat and dinner and found the quality of the food to be good. The dining room is pretty and staff professional. Also like windows that opened in the guest room and ensure rather than having to use air conditioning.

Fantastic atmosphere and the food was absolutely amazing! Must take my hat off to the chef what a gentleman and an amazing cook WOW! Thank you so much.

Had dinner with some friends at the hotel restaurant last night. What an awesome three course meal cooked by the chef. Everything was simple and tasty. Would definitely recommend dinner there to anyone.

Gem with great service and fabulous food just outside the busy Sandton CBD. Very comfortable and spacious rooms, well equipped gym, beautiful gardens and free shuttle to take you where you want to. I'll definitely be using Quatermain as my regular stay over in Johannesburg.

Hotel: Great quiet hotel to stay near Sandton. The rooms are well fitted. The restaurant is very pricy without the former quality nor wine selection. The free shuttle service around Sandton is great. Events: I used to use the hotel for training functions. It is hit or miss depending on the room allocation. This gets changed last minute so you may end up in a completely unsuitable room which you didn't choose. The management also replaced a decent projector with a very weak one during the lunch break without notice leading to an unacceptable quality in the afternoon. We were wondering what has happened and what changed so dramatically. Their banquetting supervisor not only didnt apologise but is outspokenly rude, not accommodating and not available when required. So we have joined the large group of former supporters who have stopped using the Quatermain for events.

Nice Inn. Good rooms. Nice breakfast. Massively overpriced f&b. Conference facility subject to room you get on the day. Not nice to replace my projector during lunch with a low performing one without telling me. Will not use conference rooms there again.

Wow… stunning. Set in Morningside not far from. Sandton. Upmarket. Respectful staff. Thoughtful, caring and attentive. Gorgeous Bar and lounge. Peaceful gardens to relax in. You do not feel like you are near a city.

Went there for a conference so cannot comment on rooms. Staff were friendly. Food was great. Modern finishes in a old-world setting. Doesn't feel like you're in Sandton.
