The food was bad first of all secondly I was charged twice of what I’ve ordered I had to go my through my bill and the waitress was not happy lastly the service was slow.

Is very beautiful. N I hv never seen a beautiful hotel like tis 1. Te bar. Restaurand r very nice.

Anyone can come and dine with us we have great people, great food and good service and I work here at ciello resturant.

The place leaks and bathroom facilities are smelly and not enough cause we had to wait in long queue and their breakfast food menu was boring even supper they kept on repeating same menu.

Conference facility was terrible. Felt very damp and had bad smells. Bathroom facility was also terrible.

Enough space to accommodate a large group of guests, however I would recommend that they work on their IT. We stood up for a long time before we could be registered.

There was an old guy I think he's a Security there, he was nice and helpful, such a rare find as so many of their staff is forever sour faced and rude. Rooms need to be renovated, as well as their TVs Terrible food I loved my bathroom but the sink taps were not working.

Conference centres was big enough for our group. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with a variety of food and of course pudding for both lunch and dinner. Also received nice snack for tea times in venues. Friendly and helpful staff. But most if all is the beautiful surroundings and peaceful atmosphere created by the decor, plants, gardens and lake.

Had a spa day with my mom and sister… was just fantastic… couldn’t have spent my Saturday afternoon any better… topped it off with drinks at the bar and the food was incredible.

Had a very lovely stay. Very Clean. Staff very Friendly. Overall was a great experience. And would definitely recommend to others. Only critique would be to advise clients that certain facilities are under construction.

Did the most expensive nails yet the ugliest, spa room was cold, over priced, stayed at better places for far less the amount. Did not have hot water, terrible bathroom, shower water had no pressure, horrible food. Worse place I've ever been in that province. Shattle was late for my pick-up. Wrote them an email to about my concerns still have not been Unswered.

This place offers quite a lot of things to do from fine wine and dinning but you will have to see it for yourself.

Its a great place to visit for leisure and conference. Have many different conference centres. Really enjoyed my stay, with good house keeping and catering.

'Hotel from Hell' … literally. Cleanliness is non existent in this hotel. When paying R2400 for 2 nights a certain Standard is expected. This hotel is not well maintained. A lot of broken and run down furniture/equipment. Worst than poor maintenance is poor cleanliness. When we climbed into our bed we discovered that the sheet had visible dirt (appeared to not be cleaned after the last guest slept there). Called reception and requested a new sheet. … Waited 20 minutes for a sheet so decided to go to reception myself and ask for the manager. When the manager joined me in our room, she removed the sheet and we were all surprised (including the manager) to see how filthy the mattress protector was. Full of bodily fluids! Not even stained but simply dirty! Probably not changed in many months. I requested that we receive our money back and be able go to another hotel with better standards. (already 10pm) and I was told this was not possible. We were moved to another room where they changed all the bedding before we were allowed in (surely all rooms should have clean bedding? ) I was informed that the General Manager would talk to me in the morning so that we could cancel our 2nd night and get money back. This never occurred! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Currently sitting in room 349 and I can’t stand it, amazing location but the rooms need some serious work. I’m awaiting a clean sheet to lay over the absolutely filthy bed because I refuse to lay my baby on this dirty sheet. I dread thinking we still have another night booked here, all I want is our money back for tomorrow night so we can stay somewhere else.

What an amazing place! Hospitality is 5 star, the food is so Devine! They have a beach area with beach parties every Saturday! Lovely vibe and great people!

Horrible, definitely declined in there service… I will never go there again in my life, don't have one good thing to say for the two days I was there. Ladies their spa is even worse, my nails not sure what's worse that I paid so much or that it looks like a child did them. Sure my 6 year old can do a better job…

Situated on Benoni lake. Very friendly personnel. Clean an neat hotel. Excellent venue for conferences. Beautiful surroundings.

Attended a coference. Lunch was served 1/2 hour late with 4 waiters coming in one at a time. The last guest was served 45 minutes after the first! The fish was half raw, the steak was chewy, served without a steak knife. So disappointing! No apologies given.

Beautiful scenery, with the lake literally on your door step. Conveniently located with the Lakes mall about 10 minutes drive away, and the airport approximately 20 minutes away. The rooms are large and all facilities convenient. Lovely, warm and friendly staff top it all. Can't go wrong with The Lakes.

We had our wedding at the lakes hotel and the service was excellent. Would recommend this venue any time.

A standard hotel and conference centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is very popular as a conference venue as the management takes trouble to accommodate organisers. The rooms are clean and comfortable but unfortunately the majority tend to be noisy as the sound insulation is poor, the rooms with the best views of the lake face a very busy highway, and restaurant guests and wedding parties can be a real nuisance over weekends.

The worst accommodation possible! R1200 for a night and your room looks like a whore house. (Red curtains, torn red pillows, red throw over the bed), china mall blankets in the cupboards. The aircon parts are broken, carpets in room is dirty, horrible mattress on bed to sleep on. The hotel needs a desperate upgrade.

Best place to hangout around Benoni. The service and professionalism is incredible.

Absolutely the crappiest hotel, the staff is rude and unprofessional. The TV channels are not working properly. The breakfast is the worst, queries take time to be solved. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Highly unprofessional management. The Lakes advertised for maintenance handyman position's-4 off and urgent. Emailed my CV with response from Bothwell by email to be interviewed together with the maintenance manager. My detailed CV states my address in Vaal Triangle, just to be asked in the interview why did I come for the job if it's so far (come on! ), did I waste my time and money for diesel to listen to childish questions? They also haven't contacted me ever since whether successful or not, after both said I'll definitely be called back due to my experience. Might it be because I expressed ambition to excel and grow with the firm and not just float around like a oxygen thief! or are they afraid someone with more integrity and drive could make them stand out like a sore thumb. Is this the type of treatment potential employees have joining your firm?, then you should have a desperate look at your management!.

The showers are absolutely useless. One second scalding hot and the next ice cold. Impossible to have a decent shower.

I enjoyed my short stay here. I enjoyed the view of the lake more, especially during sunset. The carpets need to be removed but other than that it's a good place.

Stayed there for 8 days. Experience was great. But no bottled water in e rooms. Had to buy water fr 8 days which I dnt think is right. Front line staff need to be more friendly. If you do not greet them. They will not greet you like literally walk straight past you. Lakes restuarant also needs to improve on their food. It is not e best at all. You cannot hve guests eating tje same dish 8 days in a row considering their accommodation rates.

Absolutely awful food at Ciello Resto-Lounge at the Lakes Hotel. So disappointing as we were taking my parents out for a treat. At R350 per mixed grill platter, the chicken and beef was dry, in fact the whole meal was dry & flavorless and the portion size for R350 was a total rip-off. Will not be eating there again!

People will love this place. Friendly staff and just overall great Hotel near to the airport and quite a few great malls.

Great Christmas party venue.

The therapist I got service from at the Spa, on the 17th December, was horrible. It seemed she was in hurry for whatever reason. I had to ask her to do what was supposed to be done and she did it with a never minded attitude. My nails were smudged and when I told her she jus put more paint on top of it. For a mani and pedi to be chipping just after one day is jus shocking. If it was not for one of the friendly therapist there I think my group would have left. Clearly a smile is free.

I liked the place in general but think they should do something about their food. I was attending workshop for the Department of Education. We checked in on the 16th september and checked out today the 18th September 2016. I have never hated food like this weekend. In my opinion, foof prepared at the funeral was much much better. It was like they were preparing foe pigs or dogs. Shame, they really need to do somethinh about it as they are going to lose customers. I would never refer someone to The Lake Hotel.

It will be very much unfair to give an overall rating, since I have been there for half a day only bt the place looks nice.

The hotel is wonderfull and amazing its just every thing that one could dream of. But need to work on the service.

What a shocking experience. TLDR at end. It is difficult to express our utter disappointment with this venue. We booked the conference venue and invited over 200 guests for a family function, many of whom were booked in the hotel as well. Upon arrival the entire building was shaking, literally, due to the venue allowing 2 large conferences in succession. Ours and an ANC Dept of Rural development function. The toi toiing was endless, not only was the other function noisy, but extremely embarrassing for us. One episode one can recall was when these ANC representatives (females) were found defecating in the males URINALS. Our rooms were double booked and clearly these people had no idea what they were doing. I would NOT recommend this venue, not only due to these reasons, but other simple things, like the lack of hot water in the rooms and the terrible acoustics, the finishes are all broken and the doors and locks have been bashed in due to the caliber of guests allowed at this venue as well as the incompetent management staff. TLDR: Rooms Double Booked Filthy Noisy Unhelpful Food wasn't great either.
