Gravel road! gravel road! low profile stay away. No where on website it sates clear that you will 25km travel on gravel Road! House is OK. Nothing perfect can't justify this price R1800 per night. Property does need fix problems. Prices at local shop is very expensive. Just because you don't have a choice you would pay R180 for 6 beers… At a bar they have no idea what they are doing. Cocktails are not up to standard! In general it OK. First and last time for me. Enjoy nothing around!

Chalets are large and very comfortable, which would suit large groups or families. There are many activities to do on the premises. Make sure to bring everything you need catering wise, as this place is quite isolated. The restaurant serves excellent food.

Lovely and restful stay. Beautifully well positioned units with expansive views of the dam. Very friendly efficient staff. In frosty minus degree harrismith mornings panel heaters in the large bedrooms and electric blankets must be a priority!

A fantastic mountain get away. Beautiful and full of activities from fishing to horse riding. A place to find peace and recharge batteries.

Friendly staff all round. Good entertainment for kids. Love the beautiful views and surroundings. Be sure to take something warm as it gets windy.

Not a place to go in the cold weather. It is 4 degrees colder than 20 k's up the road. Only an old fireplace to try and warm a 3 bedroom Chalet, no heaters available. Reasonably well kept and friendly staff. There is 18 km of dirt road to navigate from the main road to get there. There are a few varieties of buck in the reserve as you drive in and quite a lot of bird life. Catch and release fishing in the dam, didicated boat parking and launching facilities. Restaurant, bar, lounge and games room also.

Great. Quiet and secluded. Easy access to sterkfontein dam. Great vibe at the bar. Nice hikes.

Lovely area and chalets not badly appointed… BUT… the weather was very cold and there was no electric blankets or heaters for the bedrooms. Staff on the whole were friendly and helpful. Lounge and bar were nice.

Had my fair share of fun. Every activity you can think of is here: darts, chess, golf, cruise, tennis, squash, mountain hiking etc. Well thought business. Far from the main road for those who wish to get lost. Helpful stuff indeed however please ensure you arrive before offices are closed to settle in nicely, Perfect family gateway, kids allowed, cards & cash accepted,

Amazing hospitality. Breathtaking views of the dam. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Stables are cool too. And the long runs through the mountain side were thrilling.

A holiday to remember. Fun for all provided by an amazing entertainment team. A house fairy to wash dishes and clean. Lots of family time. Beautiful views of the dam. Mountains, water and spa e to breathe.

Excellent and outstanding location. Loads of activities for kids and for the family. The dam is beautiful with a wide lots of fish (although we didn't catch) The 20km of dirt road leading to the resort makes you think twice at times.

What an amazing resort, a gem hidden in between the mountains along a section of a well maintained gravel road. Through all my travels locally and around the world, this is the first place I have been to that have thought of everything in their luxury self catering houses which are strategically placed to allow privacy. A quaint but well equipped shop, well maintained gardens and pool. Stunning bar and restaurant. Friendly, well groomed, and helpful staff. Spectacular views and I can go on… a must visit to add to your bucket list.

It's absolutely breathtaking. The views and feeling are lovely. You can swim in the river or pool. Play squash, tennis or put put. You can eat at the restaurant. The food however takes an hour and everyone gets their food about fifteen minutes apart from each other as well as drinks. The restaurant experience was quite bizarre however the food was good. If you are lucky you'll see a storm there which is quite spectacular. The sun is also quite vicious so use lots of sunblock. I would highly recommend this place and it has a great area where you can go to braai inside and have a good view of the dam.

The dirt road takes an hour from the main road, but difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. The staff are helpful and facilities are well maintained, the only problem is that the Tennis Court flood lights are not sufficient to play efficiently, unfortunately. I went with a group of 150 people and we had hired out the boma which was perfect and cozy size. Accommodation was good with amazing views all round. Well worth for a weekend getaway.

What a beautiful place, nice views of the sterkfontein dam and mountains but the road not interesting at all. If the road can be tarred the place can rate 5 star. The reception, tennis court, bar amazing. The shop is too expensive we bought chakalaka for R38.00, 2litre coke R25.00

A wonderful family resort in the heart of Berg and Bush country. Isolated from any urban features Qwantani offers peace and quiet in a retreat that offers everything for a family getaway. On the shores of the Sterkfontein dam one can take in the awesome fresh air while boating, fishing, mountain biking, hiking and so much more. In high season we were able to take part in a full programme of fun activities hosted by the very pleasant resort staff. What an amazing gettaway!

Beautiful resort located next to Sterkfontein dam. Nice chalets with a view over the dam. Disadvantage for ordinary vehicles is that the 18km access road from the main road is not overall good. (No problem for 4WD though).

Neat accommodation. Well equipped units. Road to place is challenging. U have to pay extra to use facilities unless u bring own equipment. Ie tennis, squash. Wifi is available at a fee (R30 for 100mb). There is no MTN signal at resort… u can get vodacom or cellc.

Had a disappointing stay here. Roads to get in were bad and worse inside the resort to get to the room. Rooms were very dusty, but well furnished. Although this place is pretty expensive most games/activities were charged as an extra fee. The Wi-Fi never worked, even in the conference room. We called before we booked and was told there is Wi-Fi in the rooms, however when we arrived we were told it hasn’t ever worked in the rooms. There was also no cell reception on any of our phones with different providers.

Great get away place half way between Jhb and Durbs. There is a 20km dust road to get there, fine for normal cars but quite a drive. 'Free' Wi-Fi is only 100mb for one device per 6ppl. Extra Wi-Fi can be purchased at R100 per GB or R30 per 100mb. They are looking at improving this. Cell phone reception is ok for Vodacom for calls, and occasionally works for data. Telkom and MTN have very limited to zero reception. Apparently cellc is ok for calls. Very friendly staff :-)

Qwantani is ideally situated and is a must see destination for everyone. A true place made in heaven.

Staff great. Road gravel but reasonable take it slowly. Been their for a week cought no 0 fish tried every trick in the book. And very windy from about 11am. This was october 20 to 27. Resort needs a manager to take charge. Place needs tlc.

The place is good but could do with a bit of more entertainment, a heated pool can be a good thing since the weather here is so unpredictable.

Quiet, out the way of all the hussle and bussle, the residents are quiet and respectful, the staff are helpful, beautiful views, even in bad weather this place is paradise for a break…

What a beautiful and tranquil place to relax at and unwind from the busy city. So much fun activities to partake in as well.

I stayed here with my family for 4 wonderful days. The rooms in the chalets were exquisite. The service was wonderful. The restaurant was great. We went hiking around the resort and took a boat excursion out on the lake. Top notch. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Our favorite a family vacation spot. Beautiful scenery, kids activities, walking trails, mountain biking. Good relaxing fun.

Where horses and ostriches pop in for breakfast! A place far from the madding crowd. The perfect place to relax in tranquility and serenity. Warmth and hospitality from the staff and management were awesome.

Beautiful, secluded and relaxing, only complaint would be the patchy Wi-Fi, but we were reassured it was going to be upgraded.

The chalets are lovely. The buffet was good, the bread was a bit stale on our first night, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is unfortunate for the drought as the dam is quite low. The road to get to the resort is really bad but it is worth the trip for relaxation and day entertainment that they offer from fishing and water sports on the dam. Thx First Resorts.

What an awesome holiday we had at Qwantani, we spent the whole week there and didn't leaveand we were never bored. The restaurant food was delicious, the braai night was great, horse riding and boat ride were fantastic. Thank you Mariam, Lefuma, Gerard and our skipper.

Good day to you. I was at Qwantani for the weekend from the 23rd-26nd of May 2014 I had a fullest nails of french manicure with acrylic done. However I had my nails done on Saturday which I then went back on Sunday for them, one of my nails broke off 3 hours later and the other one lifted. My nails were then redo. Im not fighting with you, im just concerned about it cause I was at the spa 6 hours during my whole weekend and paid R330 and it came of 2-3 days later.
