Visited La Fontaine one night before going to Praslin and one night after getting back. We got two two and a half good days there. Both me and my girlfriend would have liked to stay longer. Its located only 5-10 minutes walk from the beach, restaurants and shops. We rented one of the ordinary apartments, but it was huge and with its own balcony. Compared to the apartments in the same area it was really cheap. The apartment could easily have roomed a family of five people.
What I liked best with the place was the service. The people who work in the reception was always smiling and seemed happy to help with everything from getting food ordered, restaurants, taxi, sending postcards and more. We were supposed to check out at latest 12:00, but the flight home didnt leave until the evening at 18:30. Because the place was quiet they treated us as normal guests until the taxi came and picked us up at 15:45. Much appreciated and very helpfull.
The only cons with this place is that the Wi-Fi only works in the reception (but the Wi-Fi is free and reception is close to the apartments), and that the breakfast didnt have much to choose between (but you can make your own breakfast in the kitchen in the apartment).

This is a good property but TripAdvisor clearly will have nothing of it and forces one to move from average to very good, not something we do in our daily lives but hey, TA clearly lives on a different planet? I spend my last night during a recent trip to the Seychelles at La Fontaine and found the apartments well equipped, bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms air conditioned and the kitchen and sitting room outfitted with fans. The rooms are simply but adequately furnished and for anyone planning a longer stay this kind of accommodation has its upsides. One room has a bathtub in the bathroom while the other room has a shower cabin in the bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and glassware and anyone who wishes to cook for him / herself can do so but why bother one wonders. Breakfast, simple but tasty, can be had at the restaurant near the pool and for lunch and dinner plenty of options exist along Beau Vallon and right across the island. The hotel provides a shuttle bus service to the La Fontaine restaurant but from what I gather also to other locations where guests can be dropped off or picked up from. This added service if of value but of course, there are the regular buses which still cost just 5 rupees any distance once entering the bus.
