Hotel

The hotel is rather simple, the rooms are small houses in a nicely landscaped garden. The rooms are fine, only ours had a lot of passage in the wind, as there are only fly screens. With onshore wind and windows on both sides not quite optimal. Unfortunately, most of the staff makes an unmotivated impression, as a guest one always had the impression to disturb the peace. The low motivation was somewhat compensated by the high staffing level, so it was ok for us. At the time of booking, one person had been written down too much.
The restaurant is very nicely located, you can watch great sunsets. However, the concept of an Italian restaurant on the equator does not seem to me to be entirely up to the ordinary. For the offered quality the dishes are quite expensive, the fresh ingredients are missing a little. Quite far from Italy. Presumably it would work better if you put more focus on local dishes that people in the kitchen know better.
The beach was unfortunately not reachable, as the path died in an impassable mudy pool. This should always be the case after a long period of rain, why not build a small jetty for the guests?
We made a guided hike (booked the night before in the hotel) to a cocoa plantation and a village. This was very interesting and the guide was very good.
All in all, the Mucumbli leaves a ambivalent impression — beautifully located, generous facility.

A very nice ecolodge on the north coast. Good equipment and food (vegetables eaten are grown on the estate). Highly recommended.

Bungalows e espaços comuns agradáveis e muito bem decorados. Vista excepcional. O pequeno almoço é diversificado e generoso. As restantes refeições têm pratos deliciosos! Os melhores que tive oportunidade de comer em STP, onde genericamente se come bastante bem. Altamente recomendado para um par de dias.

Mucumbli is just in the middle between earth and heaven! Rooms, food (the best spaghetti I've ever eaten outside Italy) and staff are perfect!

Mucumbli is a place to stay when visiting Sao Tome. We enjoyed it a lot and have no complaints. Amazingly located rooms, always clean and functional and well protected from mosquitos, restaurant serves tasty and healthy food with local products, Tiziano and people that work with him are extraondinarily nice (it is the virtue of people from Sao Tome) and helpful, well organised. We already miss the place and cannot wait to go back! Great job, Mucumbli!

Very good restaurant it is in the North Road of the island I discovered it because my guide was the best one is called Cau.
Don't miss this restaurant you'll be delighted with their cuisine.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful place! You will have a little chalet for your own and enjoy a massive view on the terrace. Decoration very artisty and smooth atmosphere. Nice beach just below. Restaurant very nice. Personal extremely nice and helpful. Mucumbli is a must!

Fantastic place with very friendly staff and great food. The bungalows and the sound of the sea made up to one of the most authentic holidays we had. I hope we can visit again :)

Mucumbli is maybe one of the nicest accommodations I have ever been. Make sure you get one of the remote bungalows, with your private balcony with direct view to the sea. Spurtendes by nature, it is paradise and you can enjoy your stay in a perfectly styled and equipped bungalow. The restaurant which belongs the the accommodation serves very delicious food. Highly recommendable.

I was working in Sao Tome and some of my resting days were spent at Mucumbli. Lovely people, quiet and clean place, and great food — even for a vegetarian like me. I recommend for sure.
