Baikonur Hotels

Baikonur is a city located in the Kyzylorda Region of Kazakhstan, but it is leased and administered by Russia. It is best known as the site of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the world's first and largest operational space launch facility. The city has a population of around 36,000 people and is situated in the vast open steppes of Central Asia. Baikonur has a unique and important place in the history of space exploration, as it was from here that the first human, Yuri Gagarin, was launched into space in 1961. The city is also the primary launch site for the Russian space program, as well as being used by other countries for their space missions.
