It's like visiting a heavily unionised hotel in the US or UK 30+ years ago. Some of the staff are lovely and are obviously nice people in real life. Sadly a lot don't seem to enjoy their work or serving other people. And they really want you to know. Maybe they find working in a service industry demeaning. (it was the same in Starbucks so maybe it's a city or countrywide attitude. The UK used to be similar. It's almost always trained out, or selected against, in 5 star places but not here. ) On two separate occasions I asked for simple things which were available in the hotel but not at that time and place. I was told bluntly that there was none available. When I asked if they could get me some I got the dead eyed direct stare and a very clear "no". What were these luxuries? The first was soy milk at coffee after the dinner buffet which was available at the hotel coffee stand 20metres away. The second was margarine to have with bread at breakfast. It was available on other days but no one was going to get me any when they hadn't put it out. The bedroom was huge and comfortable. The public spaces were grand. The gym had heaps of equipment. The swimming pool didn't look great. The 4 spa/gym reception staff had the dead-eyed uninterested approach to customer service. The inhouse coffee/cake place had great coffee. All the breakfast waiters were friendly. Breakfast selection was great. The dinner buffet for our group (I was there for a poker tournament) was very poor.

It's a great hotel. Good service and rooms. Close to Parliament. The center is 30 minutes on foot.

We were very happy with our suite (a free upgrade), which was very spacious with a living room, a powder room and a large bedroom and bathroom. The decor was a bit dated European style but in very good condition. We were treated very well at check in and check out. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and omelettes in the steakhouse. The location was not as convenient as we would have liked but cabs were inexpensive. We would definitely stay there in the future.

Elegant Hotel located in the central area, behind the Parliament. Professional Reception for languages. It was a very nice Hotel. Extensive hotel gallery, with luxury shops. Various restaurants available within the building.

What to say lovely order discreet service but quality efficiency and elegance.

Sweet hotel! Very happy with the accommodations. Clean, updated, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Location was good, but not great from a traffic perspective. Would be the only place I'd return to in Bucharest.

The location is absolutely not far from anywhere… the view of the city it's great… service perfect… the rooms are adequate size…

The room is dusty. There were prints from the glasses from past hotel guests. The maid did not want to change the bed, towels and clean the room because we were there only 4 (! ) of the day so had to call the reception.
Apart from cleaning, everything was fine. But I will not stay there again.

Very bad experience, services are not up to par.

The Hotel has all the comforts and in cold weather it is very well air-conditioned. What it is that does not emcontrarás many attractive shops around you, you only have the back of Parliament and a chicken restaurant in front. The hotel has the champions chain which is very good. To enjoy Wi-Fi, you must silicitar to be a Marriott program partner. The attention of Adriana insurmountable and Bogdan very kind. You have the Api Mall about 10 minutes at Uber, very complete.

Hotel 5stelle to which I would give 4, 5 would be a little rejuvenated also in the Andean and in the rooms (especially the bathrooms) Super The breakfast room and aperitifs.

It's a luxury hotel alright, but the staff is ill prepared and some of them could be quite rude. For instance: — you will hardly find someone in the staff to direct you to a bathroom. Somehow, they didn't know were the bathrooms were, on the 1st level. — the bellboy at the main entrance is a piece of work. He will get very angry at you, if you hail the nearest taxi, instead of walking in the melting snow / rain to their (granted) nearby taxi parking that only allows certain, "approved" taxi companies. Because of this lack of judgement on my part, I was also kind of "unofficially banned" from the hotel, by the bellboy. That's alright because I wasn't planning on coming back anyway. So that's my experience at the Marriott in Bucharest. Hope it's useful.

JW is a true 5 stars hotel. Rooms are great, the bed and pillows are a moist and a wide choice of restaurants from fancy ones to sports bar to enjoy a drink with fellow mates. I recommend.

I guess one the best in Bucharest. Its grand, rooms are clean spacious and with all amenities. Breakfast spread is good and everybody will find something of their taste. Was travelling with couple of vegans and even they were happy with breakfast. Bar and bar staff was courteous. Location is pretty good. Its near to old city and some may even choose to walk till there. View from all rooms was pretty good. They have a casino as well but I didn't try. Beds are comfortable and washrooms have all sort of daily needs items. Overall a pleasant stay.

Would've be nice if housekeeping staffs can be more consistent with room supplies. Tire of requesting every time when things are missed. All of the other hotel staffs are wonderful. Expecially George, the concierge. He is very knowledgeable with the city! Restaurants that he recommended was great!

Classy and comfortable hotel with spacious and clean rooms. Located a bit outside the historical center of the city. A few good restaurants offering different options (steakhouse, pub, Italian, patisserie). Fully equipped gym with pool and squash courts.

I have been to many Marriott hotels, and obviously the one in Europe or Asia excels the quality back in States. But the one in Bucharest is a fine example on both good taste and remarkable service quality. And to my great joy, the quality of food even for buffee dinner or brunches are of a higher quality then elsewhere in their network. Highly recommended.

Perfect hotel if you have Marriott status… the club serves breakfast and happy hour apps. Delicious. Rooms are well-appointed and bathrooms are wonderful.

One of the best Marriot hotels I have ever stayed in. Very friendly staff and excellent food. Especially the Steak House is Recommended.

A good hotel in Bucharest although it is a bit out of the historical city center. There are always taxis in front of the main entrance to take you or you want. The hotel has all the best restaurants inside. On the ground floor also many shops.

Fantastic hotel with a view of Parliament. Very nice shopping and typical amenities you’d expect at a JW Marriott. I stayed for a long weekend with family, and enjoyed every bit of this wonderful hotel. Attached spa and gym offers great massages, pool, and gym equipment. Stayed in an executive suite as part of a work trip. The rooms were fantastically spacious and had everything I needed. The housekeeping staff did a great job and went beyond what I usually see. The reception staff were extremely helpful and courteous in what is a beautiful venue. I made use of the gym which had everything needed for any workout. Breakfast was a full cooked and continental spread of great quality. The steak in the hotel steakhouse was sublime. Would highly recommend to any visitors of the city.

Great atrium, with shops. Louis Vuitton, Dolce and Gabbana, Valentino… Featuring a swimming pool and spa. But far from the center.

The employees were very rude to me. They didn’t help me with a taxi. If I was dressed elegant and I looked “expensive” they were nice, if I was dressed sport or casual they wouldn’t even mind me, although I was their guest several times. And one time when I’ve lost the key to my room they asked me who am I there to see, implying a man, witch was very rude. They don’t have women as guests? I know they do, because I stayed there. On top of everything the toilets that are close to the garden restaurant are disgusting; the cleaning in the rooms is not done properly and the carpets are disgusting as well. Inside the rooms and on the hallway!

One of the best hotels in Bucharest! A very good international hotel chain and this one is not an exception. Well situated, great service, comfort and cleanliness and a very varied breakfast.

Delicious stake! Very good brunch on Sundays of 60 euros per person. Wonderful ambiance! I felt like I was back home!

Love this hotel! I visit Bucharest about 10 times per year and this is the only place I like to stay… They have the best boutiques, great restaurants and also a very nice casino at ground floor… I give it a 5 stars with no doubts!

Lovely hotel, nice staff. We had an executive grand room… big and clean… amazing view (Parliament Palace) and treats (sweets) on the bed every evening. Bonus-executive lounge-lovely place, very good choice of food and lovely staff there, always ready to help you. Enjoyed every single minute there!

One of the best JW Marriott hotels that I know. Exceeds the standards of many UK Marriotts and is approx. Equal to The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, Texas. Unfortunately this location is not attractive, but downtown Bucharest does not have a lot of attractive locations. Recommended 100%.

Very upscale hotel located outside of Bucharest city center. The room I was given was decorated tastefully, very clean, and quiet. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Looking forward to a return trip.

5) fills the attic for a hotel, the maid opens the door of our room without permission to offer us chocolates or water. Where are we? I don't pay double the normal price for that! Our key only works for some asenceur. There is only one bathrobe in the room! The whole is a scandal! Take a 4 * in the city center you will be much better at the best prices!

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are nice clean and have great service. Pool part of fitness club downstairs. Executive suite has great food and open bar in the evenings.

Very nice structure the gallery Commetciale and exclusive with shops such as Rolex Cavalli Valentino etc etc has a very good gym with trained instructors. The casino I consider from my experience that is the most rigged in all of Bucharest. The restaurant and good… the bar and very good. The employees are very kind.

As almost always happens in the luxury hotels everything is perfect. The staff is discreet and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is at the same as the previous reviews.

I was there in 2002, just 2 years after the inauguration, to say the least fantastic… I cherish wonderful memories… I was X work, or shot a beautiful movie "Back to COLD MONTY"

Very elegant, you eat well, you sleep well, there is the casino but it is better to ignore it and not try the luck, pity it is not very central, but with inexpensive taxis with 8 lei go downtown, it is a hotel that deserves the 5 stars it has.

I'm here as a wedding photographer. The staff is nice, the rooms are clean. The restaurants area is divers.

Great big clean rooms with giant bathrooms. Food and service for food great, ignore the rolling eyes of the bar staff.

Big conference hotel. I went there for a conference and dinner. Dinner was below average and far from Marriott standards. Fish (as starter and main) was dry and obviously kept warm for long time before served. The dessert tasted a bit like fridge. Service was not well trained (slow, took long time until the whole table was served, glasses were filled until 1 cm up to top edge — which is good for the thirsty attendee but should not be served like this in a 5* hotel) …

Nice conference centre. Did not try the hotel rooms though. Oh and the gym is well equipped, with a nice pool.

First time in Bucharest and stayed here. Really nice hotel, the rooms were great with comfy beds and breakfast was excellent. Small but decent gym. Service all round was impeccable.

JW Marriott is a miracle for me. This hotel means an another world, another environment, an exelent place for. Anything.

It's near to the People's Palace, but not really close to the downtown unfortunately. The service was very good, except that there was leftover food "waiting" for me at the front of my room, on the day I arrived.
