The monastery's remodeled hotel, belonging to the small luxury hotel, is located on a hill overlooking the city, and the night view is also very good. Breakfast is satisfactory than dinner, breakfast is served with royal cake, it is worth tasting.

Most amazing old historical Monastery turned to high standard hotel. With really friendly staff and charming views over the town. Worth visiting!

A wonderful place to relax, read and reflect! It is a beautiful historical building — with its own chapel, extensive grounds with swimming pool and gorgeous public rooms filled with paintings and antique furniture. It is truly like stepping back in time (see my attached photos)! This is an outstanding Pousada high above and overlooking Guimaraes, with all rooms, which are former cells of monks and so not very large but adequate, along either side of a corridor that must be 100 metres long. You can't help being impressed by the sheer size, and grandeur of the public rooms and corridors. Lovely view over the town from the terrace and the working church right next door. Huge gardens, and a nice swimming pool (the furnishing does not reflect the level of the hotel). The hotel is a 20 minutes walk away from the town (uphill on the return) but taxis are available (only EUR6). The staff are most professional and lovely to deal with. Our stay at the hotel was relaxing and very enjoyable and I highly recommend it! Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

Very nice, a beautiful monastery and the garden of the best muyt good experience sleeping there, a but the breakfast buffet a little scarce and bad coffee.

Very nice hotel in a former monastery and dominating the town of Guimaraes and its surroundings. We couldn't find the Pousada it was late and the staff kindly took the time to orient us in French.
The place is restful, calm and brings a great serenity. Our room was great and all the comfort is at our disposal even the chocolate on our bed.
Breakfast is varied and plentiful.
Do not leave without having visited the cloister as well as the personal garden to our listening and very professional I recommend it.

The abbey was rearranged and turned into a hotel, the interior furnished with antiques, the terrain is high, stargazing the moon to take a night view of the good place!

Very old and elegant hotel. Only negatives are the lack of modern amenities sich a good Wi-Fi, electrical sockets in room etc which would be diffocult to fit in such a building.

Pousada into a Convent. Just Beautiful. Great view of the City. Historically.

It is a nice place with a nice pool to spend a happy holiday.

Really nice place to stay…

Located in Guimarães suburban Hills, a good view, overlooking the Guimarães city. From the reception hall to the room will pass several halls, antique décor, classical furniture, as if in the castle.
There are historical years of the building, but the internal reconstruction of the modernization of the atrium and the rear courtyard flowers fu, quiet, room convenience, small missing is slightly smaller The restaurant is nice and tasty.

Fantastic hotel, an enchanting garden/park. At least two nights to explore the building and the pool and garden. Breakfast is good, reception very friendly.

Fantastic views and the history is amazing…

Take a big disappointment, the site is very nice but I was given a room in an annex to the pousada has nothing to do with a hotel with charm in a historic building, I felt ripped off.

Beautiful views, charm and monumental site. However non, rooms need urgent reform if only for your carpets and furniture.
They are spacious and the bathroom is OK and clean, but me choco State rugs and doors and the lack of a bath close.
The friendliness of the staff is at the height of the site. The breakfast is very good and the common parts of the 13th and 14th century are in perfect condition. It is advisable to visit the gardens and the Church.
Recommended even if it a bit expensive in my opinion.
