Beautiful quiet hotel in the mountains. An excellent place to get away from the noise & the frantic feel of Funchal. Excellent base to drive all over the island. Friendly attentive staff. Elegant family house feel which fits with the history of the building. Short walk from the village centre with a lovely park having views down to Machico & up to the peaks.

Peaceful and relaxing 7 days set in a quiet area of Madeira. Friendly and helpful team, perfect place to stay if you like small boutique places away from all the crowds. Easy access to main attractions and all nature has to offer. Ensure you hire a car. Take advantage of quiet balmy nights in the garden.

Small hotel big chain. Very quiet ideally situated if you have transport. The public transport is an experience that you just need to try be first in the queue and take the dead man seat! @#$/=

Personal to the very attentive little care, they make a lot of effort to speak French.
The kitchen is refined in the image of the hotel, super Chef! He is very careful about the presentation in the plate and the marriage of flavors.

This is a hidden gem of Madeira. If you would like to be spoiled and to enjoy a quiet and relaxing place this is it. We felt great here and the staff is so nice. It's a 100 years old building, once used as a tea house fully refurbished now. I will start with the food as this is amazing and you will have to take at least one dinner here. The tuna and the prawns were delicious. The rooms are large with king size bads with very good matress. It has a small pool with a sauna. Also they have a list of massages that you can enjoy in a cozy room, a gym and 2 lounge rooms one where you can drink the afternoon tea and in the other one you can play chess. Since is in the mountains the weather is mostly cloudy but even so you can go hiking on levadas or It's a really nice park near by called Quinta da junta. It's worth 6* review as is above more 5 star hotels I've been so far.

A truly beautiful building and grounds in a area or high altitude therefore pure air. Easy to get to from the airport and uber quiet once you are. Not much in the locality but an ATM and a cafe etc. Also a very lovely tiled church whose grounds play host to a Sunday market. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well appointed with individual gardens off and right next to the delightful swimming pool. Breakfast was good and so therefore my only star removal is for dinner which was not great and more like school dinners than haute cuisine.

Beautiful hotel! Amazing dining room. However the service needs some improvement. The bikes for rent all had flat tires and the staff didn't help us to fix it. We booked a golf lesson which was cancelled 30 min before start and because it was our last day we couldn't enjoy this experience at all : (

A clean, well-kept and beautiful hotel. Beautiful gardens, have used the pool every day. Insanely nice staff and delicious food at breakfast and dinner! We are happy to come back :-)

Very small and friendly hotel up in the mountains of Madeira, staff were brilliant and very helpful, food in hotel great rooms were immaculate and comfortable, not a great deal near by little shop and few a few bars but local buses were spot on and only cost about €10 for two of us for the day, enjoyed my first trip Madeira it's a beautiful peaceful island.

Second time back, hotel and staff are just as great as the first time, it was me and my wife's 39 year wedding anniversary and they left flowers and balloons in our room, looking forward to dinner tonight, thank you all for making so welcome, love you all.

We were to eat there and were unfortunately very disappointed, although the Internet appearance and the ambiance was to make a very good impression. We got the wrong drinks and the vegetarian dishes total were really clean. The Stuffed eggplant was so tough that you could not cut them. For a 4 star Hotel not ok.

A beautiful hotel in quiet location. The staff are helpful and makes for a relaxing stay. Had a standard double room which was very clean and to Venice has become immediately. Restaurant and breakfast also very good.

I've stayed at this hotel for one night. I really enjoyed the experience. The hotel is small, but cosy and the staff is always ready to help you. The breakfast is really good and I can really recommend dinner at Avo Micas (the hotel's restaurant). Btw, if you're thinking about dining there, it might be a good idea to come with half board. For about 25 Euro per person, you'll be able to enjoy a starter or soup, a fish or meat dish, desert, a couvert and coffee. Oh, and this includes a bottle of water, wine or sangria. The swimming pool and sauna are not big, but, again, the place is well decorated, making it a pleasant place to be. Rooms are big and really clean, with a mini-bar and safe. You've got TV with satellite, but if you're into football (soccer), then I'd recommend a visit to the TV room downstairs where you have proper cable TV (Sport TV is the channel you want — starting at number 21). Overall, I had a great time over there and I'll surely be coming back.

Very nice hotel, well located for visiting the extreme East of the island (point St. Laurent, Machico, Porto da Cruz). Obligation to have a vehicle to make the stay. The hotel is well equipped (indoor pool, sauna, gym room, Wi-Fi in the rooms, restaurant to book), big rooms, friendly staff. Slight preference for rooms at the bottom (no lift) which have a small terrace very nice for a drink.
