The 4 stars do not open up to me. Room very clean, but quite small and especially the bathroom has already gotten a lot of old. The reception was totally overwhelmed with the check-in of a larger group and at the same time quite pamphlets. At dinner the fish is quite good, meat is not recommended.

Very nice place to live.

Beautiful Mountain Hotel. Breakfasts and super dinners. Only drawback the parking difficulty.

Wonderful place, between the ocean and the mountains. Nice and clean rooms. To emphasize heated swimming pool and whirlpool. Friendly staff.

I stayed there for a week and was delighted with my stay.
The most: good location, quiet in the valley, hotel of "small size" without too many people, no need to fight in the morning at the breakfast buffet or to have a Transat. A part of the staff speaks French (and very good! ) all the staff is nice. We eat well, I was half board. Continental Buffet in the morning (Eggs bacon bread jam cereal, fruit juice) in the evening gastro type meal, 2 appetizers, 2 dishes, 1 dessert (thus 5 services). The hotel is clean, the rooms also have towels and bathrobes available.
The little less: we were in the historic rooms, the decor is slightly outdated (it has its charm) and the insulation is not perfect. Even though have never been disturbed. The restaurant is very very decent but do not expect a 3 Michelin star. I always found it very good but it is not the best restaurant of my life. At breakfast times the bread could have been cooler, it is certainly my French side that speaks.
If you want to stay there, I recommend you, a real scenery, sumptuous landscapes. Try to book a room with a view of the mountain on the last floor. Plan a car rental to get around the area it's almost indispensable. You can have it from the airport the road to the hotel is not complicated (with GPS, 50 min Drive, bypass to 90% of the time).

This hotel is wonderful, the staff are amazing, it has a nice pool and health suit, the evening meal is value for money… would stay again highly recommend!

Originally gave this place a 4 star rating, having arrived and been taken care of by one of the receptionists who was really approachable and profesional and took her time to answer questions we had. Having stayed here a week during the local festivals, the garden area seemed to be being prepared for an event which looked great and we awaited some form of notice to what it was about or an invite maybe? Very dissapointed to find out that this was an invite only event by the hotel owner to which she seemed to only invite her family and friends — who played loud music all night long, couldn't get a drink from the bar as the staff were pre-occupied looking after the owners invitees. The parking area is quite limited although ample space to park all the cars during most of our stay, however, the owners invitees took up all the spaces and blocked us in for which we had to wait 30 mins (no word of a sorry) for them to move the cars out of the way and we lost our dinner reservations. As we came back to the hotel, the invitees looked at hotel guests as if they were a lower class and we ended up having to park our rental car all the way down the road from the hotel. My suggestion. Befriend the owner, don't bother spending your 'hard earned' cash to stay in this hotel. Ps. Pool is so murky I didn't dare even let me kids dip their toes.

Beautifull hotel, with friendly staff surrounded by a gorgeous scenery. This little gem is located in Sao Vicente and certainly worth a visit!

The Hotel is perfectly located on the island. Quiet, comfort, tranquility, very professional and friendly staff. Really not the least regret to have chosen this establishment, perfect.

A small but comfortable nice hotel with a fantastic view.

Our small group (9Personen) was consistently enthusiastic. The view of the rooms on the mountains and the sea. The lovely garden with a mini golf course, the cosy lounges, the small fitness room, the small wellness area, the pool and the parking spaces directly at the hotel made our stay very pleasant. The breakfast offered enough choice and also the evening meal made us all tired and happy. The service in the restaurant is nimble and also at the reception are all very accommodating. The rooms are spacious, clean and all have a balcony. Those who want to have a nice view should book on the upper floors towards the sea. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely Hotel in a quiet area with Friendly Staff.

Very nice hotel, nice view, atmosphere & Deco really friendly!

I have rarely encountered such friendly and obliging staff. The setting is beautiful and peaceful and it's central location means that all areas of the island are accessible after only an hour or so drive.
The food is very good with an on site chef and the choice is varied and will appeal to all tastes.
The staff are extremely professional and the readiness to help with any out of the ordinary requests has been refreshing. We came along during the new year celebrations and despite this very busy time, the extremely busy staff are always smiling and eager to please.
This holiday has been wonderful and I cannot recommend the Estalagem Do Vale highly enough. We are looking looking to return.

Hotel in the middle of the mountains with a view of the sea within sight. Displacement guaranteed… thanks to the whole team of the hotel for their welcome and their kindness… thanks to the chef for his good little dishes. Hotel very clean and always impeccable, a staff to your attention and that speaks all the languages. If you are looking for a hotel away from the tourist stuff and right in the middle of nature then you have found the right hotel. Recommended car to discover the beauties of the island.
