Okay service, you're left alone to your own devices if you want to know more about the place you're staying as I wasn't given any information on common areas that were shared by the guests (apparently there's a terrace? ) ; the rooms are alright, there's no AC, so if you're a chilly person ask for extra blankets as the nights tend to be quite cold during autumn and winter; the walls are thin, you can hear other people flush and talk from your room, there's a mini fridge and a small TV up on the wall, a table with a chair, an end table and a wardrobe with a bit of space for you to store your things. A pet peeve of mine is that you have to leave the key behind. Say, someone comes in and asks for your key, they don't check if it's you or not. Safety isn't really that good. All in all, it's functional. That's pretty much all I can say about it.

The position is good, in the centre. Everythin is quite ok with the price. The safer is broken down so we could not use it.

At this price, you should not expect a palace but to sleep a night or two is Enough. Only one plug in the room, everything is old or very old, not bad bed, noisy but the night is Fine. Good for backpackers not too looking.

Great location for City tour, airport bus and ferry terminal. Cheap and modest hotel, honest price/quality ratio. They give you for what you pay.

Located in the heart of the city, the Zarco welcomes you at very low prices.
The very friendly welcome, also in English, is done 24 h/24 and the rooms are cleaned every day.

The window of the rented room was very close to other windows and looked out down by the reception which could not be comfortable in the room and all the time you had to have curtained window. The room was too cold. Unfortunately, the walls can hear everything, even the neighbor snoring. The rooms are also decorated in the old style, definitely they could use renewal, especially the bathroom. But: The location is very good — very center of Funchal, so if someone does not need comfort and big room — it is ok (good place to sleep and wash). The rooms are cleaned daily, roughly, the towels are replaced if necessary. Front desk staff are usually very helpful.

Ideal location. Close to everything. Good price. Simple breakfast included. Friendly staff. Not recommended for families or disabled. If you just want a bed and a secure room, this is it.

Rooms are tired and the beds fairly uncomfortable. Staff are very good and helpful.

Cheap so, don't have expectation. People are nice, room is cleaned every day and bed is ok but you can hear the others rooms. And the bathroom is… old and smells…
