Very friendly staff. They did everything in their power to make my visit the best it could be. A great family run hotel. Very clean, very friendly, happy customer. I plan to return in the future.

The rooms are clean but small and the breakfast is ok. All in all it is an expensive facility for the service offered. I would have put 3 stars but the hotel indicated that there was parking and this is not the case. They asked us to park on the street. Which earned us an almond. However the hotel is rather well located in the tourist district.

Cozy. Quiet and quiet. Clean and correct. It is a family hotel whose owners manage with a lot of kindness and good treatment. Excellent location to visit Lisbon, very close to the center and all transport. We loved it. Highly recommended.

All very friendly, cleanliness, comfort, there was a play opposite and you could not hear anything. Centrally Located, next to utilities, bus, meters and trams. Perfect Breakfast. And everything was new in the room. Excellent.

This hotel is simple, but (almost) completely adequate. Very nice people, excellent Wi-Fi, good simple breakfast, amazing location, but interior walls so thin you can hear everything in the hallway, the staircase, or next room. I'm a light sleeper and slept ok, but I think I was lucky to have polite neighbors.

Old structure, rooms with smell of damp, breakfast with the minimum indispensable. Located in a great location with services just a few hundred meters (Metro, Rossio station, bus)

Hotel very well placed but some details that spoil! Room overlooking a building site in full construction, no power outlet to charge its such (you have to unplug the bedside lamp), no unwinder for toilet paper, very spartan breakfast really low cost… we got money!

We chose to stay at Pensao Portuense for 2 reasons: the location (really convenient and a stone's throw from the historic centre of Lisbon) and the price (adjusted to the quality and services offered).
The building is old, the rooms are small (each with air conditioning) but with a rough cleaning. The breakfast (included) is of low quality and the Wi-Fi is present only on the ground floor in common area.
I don't know if it was so in all the other rooms, but in ours we had only one electrical outlet (appropriately detaching the TV) and every night was a problem loading phones and digital camera. In addition, even though there was a hair dryer in the room on the site, it was actually necessary to ask in the reception.
For the rest the staff are friendly and all in all I would recommend for the location and the price.

For us the main issue was that the amenities list is very deceptive. It seems the hotel is currently undergoing a renovation and hence there are some things that work and some that do not. Breakfast is not that great either, though it is not terrible. I believe it is a great place if you are hiking through Europe or if all you need is a place to sleep, just keep in mind that it is not a place for confort e. G. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Overall as long as you keep your expectations low, you should be fine.

It will be my third time in the Pensao and I would never think of choosing any other place. The location, the clean rooms and sheets, decent breakfast, great prices and the best brothers ever make every stay in Lisbon a great one. There is really nothing else you need, as the restaurants, cafes, aerobus, metro, Rossio station — are withing walking distance. I'm happy to be coming back in a few days — and do not hesitate to book it as well :) EDIT (April 2018) : I can't add the second review, so I will write a recommendation :) After recent renovations, it's probably the best place you can get for such price — immaculately clean, modernized, with soundproof windows and the best beds you can get. Cosy reception area and breakfast room, breakfast itself is getting better and better (now with hot options — more than enough, fresh strawberries made my day). Friendly, professional owners with perfect English. White, crisp towels and bedsheets. Location — perfect, but that's obvious. The only problem I always have here are noisy neighbours — with soundproof doors the rooms would be even better :) (Oh, and the showerheads — would prefer steel, not plastic :P.

Stayed here for the second time last weekend. It is in the middle of the city centre. Had a really nice sleep, big bathroom in the room. Really nice and helpfull staff. It is clean. Breakfast is included. Good prize! Before went, I had send a request about the room. And I got what I requested for. When I go back to Lisbon, I would stay here again (if possible), that is for sure! I felt welcome and comfortable here! Thank you Portuense!

The hotel itself is located in the heart of Lisbon at a fairly quiet street (by local standards). All major sights are in walking distance. For example, to the square of Commerce can be reached at a relaxed pace in about 15 minutes. Near many restaurants, metro station, bus stop. That is, you can easily get to the airport or other areas of the city. If you are travelling by car, 10 EUR per day has indoor Parking (booked on the spot). Breakfast is standard European — tea/coffee/juice/water + toast/croissant. I. E. If you like! have to go to a restaurant), the rooms are small but clean. Of bathroom accessories only soap. Rooms are cleaned every day. Have air conditioning, which in the summer can be enabled on cooling, heating in winter. The staff is very friendly and will always help when questions from the guests. They speak English fluently. Property suitable for tourists, who prefer to spend the whole day going through the city and go to the hotel only to bathe and sleep) Wi-fi works only in the zone of reception and in the room. In the rooms Wi-Fi didn't work.

I visited "Portugal Residential Pension" almost 4 years ago. I had to stay in Portugal because an unexpected layover in my way to United States. While looking for an affordable room close to the downtown area, I was presented with this place. Here I stayed in a single-bed room, and the price was very acceptable. However, the best thing about this placed was the service! Great people that helped me with everything they had. Without a doubt in my mind I will comeback and stay in this same "Pensåo". Loved it.

Positive: Ideally located in the Centre of Lisbon. Sights, restraurant, and culture are within walking distance. The two sons of the owner occupy mostly the lobby and speak very good English, are very helpful and also patient.
Negative: The rooms were relatively small and the outflow of the bathroom smelled sometimes strange (which could be but also to the Portuguese sewage system).
Conclusion: The hotel is highly recommended for the price, the location and the service.
