Went to the restaurant only. The food delicious and superb. Service great and attentive. View from the terrace outstanding and beautiful. What else U can wish for nice dinner? We did not take the kids as they are too small and I did not see any kids around so they might have “adults only” policy. And that’s totally fine for 2-Michelin Stars chef’s restaurante. Thank U for happy and tasty evening!

What an amazing lunch for my 50th birthday. Seriously delicious food and attentive staff who described every dish beautifully. We opted for the wine pairing and are glad we did. A culinary experience that I would like to suggest to anyone who appreciates fine, creative cuisine.
We had a fantastic 6 course menu with countless attentions to the kitchen that reflected an infinite creativity of the chef.
The Portuguese wine accompaniment harmonized excellently with the many tastes of the respective courses.
Very attentive staff and a pleasant atmosphere rounded off the evening.

Had a lunch and dinner at Vila Joya. On both occasions, the food and service was to a high standard. The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. Highly recommended fine dining experience.

Food was great, also wasnt too overpriced. The service was a bit stiff, as they kept changing the napkins every time I left the table. The waiters were constantly apologizing about everything. And kept repeating the phrase: “welcome to the paradise” more than 4 times. Overall satisfactory.

Second time coming to Vila Joya and this time we embarked on the six course tasting menu with multiple surprises. Wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant, unfortunately the bland food, bad service with attitude and empty glasses didn’t do it for me. I couldn’t relax as it’s far to busy, Certainly didn’t feel like a Michelin star restaurant, I couldn’t wait to leave to be honest. I’ve eaten in Michelin star restaurants all over the world this has been the worst experience I’ve had. The waiters kept saying I can see you enjoyed that which made matters worse, I would eat anything didn’t mean I it enjoyed, I paid my bill and left without saying anything as I was getting angry at them.

Really beautiful. A negative note nonetheless. We had taken the menu at 125 euros. As often in these cases we like to discover the wines that the sommelier proposes to accompany the dishes, in confidence. No mention of the price on the menu. At the addition the surprise was at the appointment: 90 euros pp. When we know the prices of the delicious Portuguese wines selected, this is not serious.

Everything was an explosion of tastes in you mouth! Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. The price is very high but totally worth the experience! Would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Consummate professionals, after some confusion with our booking, the staff both in the kitchen and front of house pulled a taster menu almost from nowhere considering the kitchen was closing the next day for the season. Every mouthful was a delight and I will most definitely be returning. 5 star+

A surprisingly sprawling property with superb views, great 2 star restaurant and well laid out private gardens and terraces. Service sometimes lacked and was poor by the pool but staff were lovely.

Lunch of a lifetime. One one tip is to not over indulge on the fantastic bread on order to leave room for the fantastic chefs surprises between courses. They also redefined the meaning of the word snack. The time and creativity put into each of these "snacks" is something to behold.

An amazing location and gastronomy that is out of this world!

There's no doubt Vila Joya is a truly great restaurant. It's certainly an expensive meal, but one that most would say is well worth it. Here are a few aspects to consider: Food: In total we were served 15 courses. The first 4 were all unique and interesting 'pre-appetizers' of all types. Followed by 6-7 courses on the main menu — including 3 fish and 1 beef main. Each was unique and certainly at minimum very good. Some great. Then 4-5 dessert courses to cap off a great night of eating. The courses change nightly — it's safe to say each will be an amazing food experience Staff: Incredibly nice — considerate and not overbearing. We must have chatted with 5-6 servers and all had a story and seemed to form a Vila Joya family of sorts. Atmosphere: Vila Joya is located in a 22 room boutique hotel which just won the best of Europe for 2015. The restaurant is at the back of the main building, which used to be a mansion that overlooks the ocean and throughout the night you hear the waves crashing. Most tables are small and are for couples — making the atmosphere quiet and romantic. Price: Even though the set menu food price is EUR 175/person, plenty of reasonably priced wines are offered, so you won't have to pay that much more for drinks. They have a huge wine cellar, so I'm guessing you could spend as much as you wanted…

A perfect place to relax. Location but above all the Service from A-Z and the food are 6Sterne… perfect from beginning to end.

Two Star Michelin 5/2015

We have tested the star restaurant (2) : superb, original and just traditional to be innovative. Tasting food a €175 / person. A remake but not every day :).

Amazing meal, have to say I thought the restaurant looked a bit dated and tired. But the food is exquisite and unique.

We have been very unhappy with this bad service.
