Beautiful place with very much a zen atmosphere. Built around the natural landscape of the Alentejo. Old olive trees and tall pine trees seem to be the main natural features in the landscape, very peaceful. Only negative I experienced was being ignored at the front desk and then again at the bar, even though I happy spent 40 euros for 2 glasses of champagne… service is seriously lacking! Not impressed!
Sublime Comporta is a very beautiful property however the are lacking in some of the luxury "nuances" that are expected at a hotel in this price range. First of all room service we ordered for a very simple meal took approx. 1.5 hours to be delivered. This was a very simple order of a sandwich, and a hamburger. This quality of service continued throughout the stay for both breakfast and lunch, and again for the price of the food it wasn't suggestive of the service. If some of these growing pains were worked out I could see this being a great resort but at the moment I would not recommend it to anyone.

I’ve never had such an unfriendly and unpleasant stay as in the Sublime Comportela. We’ve made an reservation for the pool and a dinner. When we came there was no personal to check our reservation. When we went to the pool to wait for the personnel the manager came around and told us that the use of the pool is prohibited and we have to leave. She didn’t have the time to clear our reservation. This is unacceptable for a “five-star-hotel”.
