The place is lovely and especially the pond gives it a nice atmosphere. The frogs will surely charm you. Even when it is full it is quiet and relaxing. The lodges themselves could do with a refresh though, they are a bit worn out, lack in equipment for sitting outside and will feel cramped with more than three persons. In summer the flies and mosquitoes can get annoying, but that is probably part of an environment like this — flies disappear once the sun goes down and a mosquito repellant stick should ge in your bag anyway. Once you know how to get there it is very close to both Comporta and the highway. You might spot foxes in your headlights when arriving at night. Limited service.

Amazing experience and hospitality by Mariana & Nuno! Cocoon is not a hotel and doesn’t have services breakfast, restaurant etc. It is an eco resort inside the forest rented as a Lodge. The lodge was very clean very well equipped even with Nespresso machine! The last 4km to reach the eco resort is a dirt road which is very easy to drive!
