Loved it here. I had a conference stayover that went amazingly. The breakfast, the lunches, the dinner and amenities (pool, spa etc. ). The rooms could benefit some refurbishing. Kudos to the staff for being so nice, helpful and so absolutely unpretentious.

Beautiful buildings, dating to the mid-1400s, with lovely rooms and helpful, attentive staff. Food is excellent and there is a gorgeous chapel on-site that will take your breath away. The surrounding formal gardens are beautiful and there are indoor as well as outdoor pools, and a spa, and massages are available. The landscape reminds me of California, like around San Juan Bautista. This is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.

Very unique heritage hotel. The services were excellent, including a hotel tour and wine tasting. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was good. Breakfast has a lot of variety. I take one star off because of the landscape. The entrance is beautiful but the remaining property could benefit from additional work.

The hotel in located just outside of Evora, 1h from Lisbon. This hotel has both a classic decor and a modern feeling in the new part. All rooms are very spacious and with nice views to the Alentejo countryside… All the things we've tried were correctly prepared and the staff was nice! A place to enjoy all year long.

Poor insulation on the door that gives focused on the balcony! This is a little bit expensive for the quality of the room!

This hotel is a nice getaway for the weekend. A place off the beaten path, where one can relax and recharge batteries.

The Convento is a little slice of heaven in the Alentejo. We stayed two nights and hated to leave. Our room was in the modern wing — spacious with great views out over the property and beyond. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. I was able to see some of the traditional rooms including the royal/bridal suite-what a treat. Dinners are a magnificent affair — absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared and service was attentive. The wine list is extensive and the sommelier more than helpful! The restaurant is in the former vaulted store rooms used by the monks to hold their olive oil, honey and wine. Breakfast, which is an enormous buffet, is also served here though guests are also welcome to dine on the terrace. There are complimentary wine tastings each evening and a wonderful tour of the former convent each day at 5. Sometimes there are concerts in the gorgeous church which is a part the historic hotel. The pool area is terrific and it's possible to have lunch. There's also a spa, where I had a great massage, and an indoor pool. If you don't have a car — — we did — you can easily take a taxi to and from nearby Evora for sightseeing. I'd go back in a heart beat!

This is one incredible hotel and restaurant! Spent two days there and wished I could've spent a week. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in the new wing and had gorgeous views and an incredibly modern functional comfortable room. This is the lap of luxury! The restaurant is a little pricey. However, you can have half board for €50 per person and it gets you a starter, main, and desert – quite a savings. Awesome food. Dynamite winelist and knowledgeable, experienced sommelier Bonus – a free winetasting of three different wines every evening at 6 PM for no charge. Very informative and they change the wines every night. If the hotel restaurant is too expensive for you, you can take a cab ride of 10 minutes into Evra and get some very inexpensive meals. Makes a great base for day trips to all the surrounding fun towns. Lots of history, wine, great food. The bar snacks for lunch we're just right. Specially if you're eating big dinners of the style they have in the Alentejo. We are coming back next year and spending at least 4 to 5 nights.

The management of this hotel is atrocious! Less-than-One-star offering at Five Star price! No lunch availability if you exclude "Bar Food" served by the pool and in one other location that passes for a bar. At the last moment discovered that reservations for dinner was obligatory and that seating capacity was limited! This in an Hotel miles away from anywhere were "eating out" is not an option without your own means of transport. I could go on, but I wont, because nothing will change. People like me will continue to be ripped of by the management of this hotel. By the way, I'm am not Portuguese but Having lived in this lovely country for more than 40 years I must state that this hotel management is the exception that proves the rule! The Tourist Board should at best remove their licence, at worst downgrade them to max 3star.

This place is an appalling ripoff. If you have nothing else to do with your money, give it to the poor, do not give it to these people. The room was okay and the breakfast was quite good but dinner was a total ripoff. Main dishes were priced at about €25. For this price they could have put Sporttv in the room for a month, but they didn't. The first course was a pretentious affair of some very strong tasting cheese (like Gorgonzola) wrapped in a wafer type invention — absolutely disgusting. We had to wait for ages between each course and when the main dish was finally served it turned out to be a tiny piece of meat sitting on a green mush accompanied by (at most) two potatoes artistically formed into a cube. Dessert was a fancy chocolate wafer type affair, but they had forgotten to use chocolate. We asked for tea, not coffee, to finish so they put a teabag in a coffee cup with tepid water. Conclusion: their gourmet chef with postmodernist pretensions cannot even make a cup of tea.

Beautiful hotel. The place is so close to Evora. The grounds are beautiful. The church is amazing. The food at restaurant is very good and has gluten free options.

Our group of 58 women stayed here last week and it was amazing. The rooms were very comfortable, bathroom very clean. Dining was exceptional and the waitstaff were all very pleasant and very good at their jobs. Many of us also enjoyed the indoor pool and spa services that were very reasonably priced and very delightful. Very nice place, the grounds were also amazing, I even had a rooster crow and wake me up about 8:30 am. Which was perfect.

Now in its modern rooms will sleep like a King. And for dinner that best place that your restaurant Divinus.

The pool is perfect to forget the passage of time, with cocktail in hand. Huge rooms, and an endless number of spaces inside the convent, that you will like them. Ideal for a weekend. (I was with my company, and of 10)

Exquisite, as luxury collection should be. The only took no they could add is a shuttle to the city centre. As somebody else mentioned, have a car.

Amazing. You need car as its so isolated. Excellent for leasure, spa break, wine tours and food experiences. Breaths history. Fabulous experience. Évora is amazing.

An historic convent transformed in an amazing hotel… open your eyes and enjoy. Very good welcome and great staff.
