Krakow is a very colorful city! And it is nice to realize that its inhabitants appreciate and cherish their history. Florianstte Gate is the living history of Krakow and the whole of Poland. It's clean, it's well-groomed. Be sure to watch.

To call a couch you can turn into a small bed a double bed is just nuts! You do expect proper beds at a hotel! Breakfast was medioker, bed terrible, garden nice. Do not recommend!

The Florian Gate is a gate located in the fortress wall of Krakow. They were erected in 1307 and named after the patron saint of the city of St. Florian. The gate is made of large boulders and red brick, which appeared during the reconstruction of the 16th century. Inside the gate is the Chapel of the Virgin. The gate is decorated with a heraldic eagle, created by drawings by Jan Matejka, and relief depicting St. Florian. Next to the gate is the Barbican, a fortification that is a circular massive tower. Today, the Barbican is home to a small historical museum, and chivalrous tournaments are held from time to time. The Florian Gate (otherwise called the St. Florian Gate) is the only surviving gate in the fortress wall that was once surrounded by Krakow. The first records of the Florian Gates of Krakow date back to 1307 — there were 8 gates through which access to the city was carried out.

Really wished we would have had more time in Krakow. It's a fabulous old city with so much to see and do. Only saw St Florian's gate late at night as we walked through it on the way back from dinner and again early in the morning on the day we had to leave. Part of Krakow's old city walls extend on both sides. I'll have to come back some day to see what is inside.

Really nice old feature of the original wall. Underneath in the archway there is also a Catholic shrine and regularly very talented buskers. The arch forms to the start of the route that newly crowned Polish monarchs would proceed down. Definitely an iconic landmark of Krakow and worth seeing if you are on this side of the old town.

Beautiful, from here you can start your trip to the old town wonderfully. If you run everything out of it all, you can see a large part of the beautiful old town. In the evening it can be that smaller street acts take place there. So be sure to stop by. Behind it, by the way, is also a beautiful park.

The only surviving old city gates and a section of the protective wall are worth a look. At the very top of the first tower, at the entrance, looked a good meek about Krakow. You can also listen to local musicians who often play at the gate.

The only remaining door on the 8 that possessed the city. It was the main entrance to the "Royal way" e. The Tower dates from the 13th century but will undergo transformations until 1694, it culminates at 34, 5M.
It is possible to go around what remains of the ramparts. You will not find the 39 towers that dominated the ramparts.

How can you estimate the object of the 13th century, through all the sieges, raids, fires preserved to this day. The only remaining gate to old Krakow. Together with barbacin components of a single defensive system. Not so much in the world of so preserved old fortifications. And let now adjacent to the gates of the wall serve mainly to demonstrate the proposed paintings, but their height and now impressive.

Florian Gate is a famous gothic tower in Poland and one of the iconic buildings in the old City of Krakow. Built in 14th century, the rectangular tower is part of a defense system built by Krakow in the wake of the 1241 Tatars attack, and the gate, named after Saint-Hens Florian, became the main passageway in and out of the Old city, connected by a bridge and a circular Weng Cheng opposite the moat. The tower of Florian Gate is 33 higher. 5 meters, a baroque spire like the crown of the gate, built in 1660 and renovated in 1694, has increased the gate by a metre.
The south of the gate is decorated with a shallow relief of the 18th century Saint-Hens Florian, and the north is a Matejko carved by Zygmunt Langman in 1882 on the basis of the design of the painter Jan Shi, and there is a post-Baroque altar inside the gate.

Weng Cheng Adult 6 zloty, children 4 zloty Florian Gate (Florian Gate) is the starting point for the road to Krakow College and the Royal Road, a famous Polish Gothic tower that is also one of the iconic buildings of the old town of Krakow.

This gate is the entrance to the Tarth city, the only surviving from the Middle Ages. I recommend going on a tour to Barbakan cost of 8ZT.

If you travel to Krakow, I recommend this site because it is basically where they start the tours for free. A company that is called a Free Walkative Tours, meet here, there is in several languages and are highly recommended.

This is the meeting place for many of the walking tours. Beautiful and historic.

Admiring the Florianus gate you can only admire and fantasize about what the entire defensive complex of Krakow in the 13th century was. Now only fragments of the fortress wall and this unique tower are preserved.

Beautiful remnant of the old city wall! The old stone masonry together with the wood balkenkonstruktion I like very much! Unfortunately, an artist may use this authentic place as a sales space…

It is the gateway for every traveler who comes walking from the train station-about five blocks-, after crossing the green belt of the city. It is one of the oldest doors of the city, within what was the wall that once protected the city. The vicissitudes of history and the accommodation of modern times has made much of that wall no longer exists. Which gives great value to these parts that still survive.

Highly recommended as its amazingly pretty and the tickets allow you free entry to a couple of other places.

It is the point of passage of all the tourists who visit Krakow, but it offers visuals that escape the fast tourist.

I loved the medieval look of this area. Beautiful place full of history. It was built to protect Krakow from invasion. Free walking tours start here too.

Beautiful place, with regular local artists who move in to play music.

One of the main tourist attractions in Krakow due to being one of the oldest. Built too protect the city from invasion somewhat successfully but not always. Walking tours in the area can give a full history background which are very interesting and informative and cheap. Most of the attraction can be seen in less than half an hour. Well worth it even in bad — 14 weather.

Well preserved walls and doorways, it is not difficult to find street musicians who will enchant you with their music. The door will take you to the main street that takes you to the central square. Along the way you will find numerous shops, Hostel, restaurants, souvenirs, food.

The city was completely walled hundreds of years ago.
The door is very well preserved and has been partially restored.
However the wall that surrounded the city is difficult to see since much of it had to be destroyed to facilitate communications in the modern city of Krakow.

In the middle of old town, as a tourist could every nice thing happened for you here. I personally Like it.

A quick view of "The Gate" is essential. At night, it becomes even better.

Interesting to discover an original defense of the city… with the walls well preserved with the door that from on a street full of shops and that brings you right in the Rynek Główny the great and beautiful square of Krakow.

The walking tour I went on started just outside the gate, the guide told us about the history of the gate which was very interesting. There were musicians inside the gate playing music for tourists which was enjoyable to see and hear.

The gate of St. Florian or Gate of Florian (in Polish: Brama Floriańska) in Krakow (Poland) is one of the most famous Gothic Polish towers and a focal point of the old Town (mixed stay) of Krakow, was built around the 14th century as a rectangular tower Gothic stone and was part of the fortifications of the city against the Turkish invasion.

Majestic everything in Krakow. It doesn't matter the time of year. Hot with cold rain. It is worth visiting the city and of course the classic attractions. It Necesitarian at least 5 days to get the urge. Auschwitz included.

Beautiful entrance to the old square. Bustling with various shops, restaurant's and bars to suit everyone. Lots of history and something for everyone.

Last preserved part of the former city wall, from the outside very nice, inside the tour is not really worthwhile.
