Review of Peña Linda Bungalows 3*

Located right on the beach, offers nice ocean front rooms. The hotel it self has a nice infrastructure. We checked in and when we got to the room, it had a funny smell to it (Pee? ) We asked to be moved and got moved it was low season for them. Our second room was better. It's all rustic, so don't expect anything fancy. Mattresses we comfortable, shelves (No drawers) to put our things in — which worked for us. A mini fridge came with the room. I would have liked to have some basic utensils in the room (cups, dishes, silverware, etc). We had to borrow some from their kitchen instead. Breakfast was included — consisted of instant coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, bread, butter and jam — every day, there was no variation to it, which would have been nice. The personnel were overall friendly — Fernando Andres, went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. However, in my opinion, the manager — Cesar, wasn't as friendly and just sat by the computer. I also come from the hospitality industry — Would have been nice to be greeted or if he walked the floor every now and then to acknowledge guest. The hotel is located about 15 mins. Away from the town of Mancora. Which we weren't aware of and was a little bit of an issue for us since we didn't have our own transportation. There isn't anything to do/stores near the hotel. So we had to take a mototaxis to go places. Mototaxis were available right outside the hotel however and would charge about 12 soles (About $4) for a trip to Mancora.
