Gorgeous hotel and grounds service and the food was excellent they offered great excursions and information had a wonderful stay at a beautiful place lovely Orchid Garden close to Machu Picchu very tranquil.

What an amazing experience. Service is outstanding! Food its exquisite! To wake up to the tweets of birds is just priceless. We stayed in the presidential cabin! Wow! I will 100% recommend this hotel.

Highly recommend staying here when in Aguas Calientes, comfortable beds, well appointed rooms tucked into beautiful natural setting of lush gardens, fountains, stone step pathways, orchids, birds, a very Zen atmosphere. They have a very good restaurant and nice spa on site. Friendly helpful staff. A short walking distance to train or bus station.

Located in next to Machu Picchu, it is situated in this small rain forest like area with the rooms all spread out. The rooms were very nice and the staff super friendly. They have some local excursions that you can go on when you had your fill of Machu Picchu.

Built in the rainforest side of the hotel, is very Amazon rainforest style, the hotel from water to toiletries are emphasized natural organic, but the winter is cold at night, only a small heater. More mosquitoes, the room is equipped with radar electric incense, and send a bottle of citrus mosquito repellent liquid very effective, but at present is only to send not sell, may not be provided in the future.

We came to grab some drinks after dinner and it was dead quiet. We looked in the bar area, dinning area and cafe but there was no one in sight. Not a single employee or customer.

Staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly — wonderful sanctuary, wonderful rooms with warm hot water bottle service and their chef was amazing — every meal an experience I won't forget.

Super place to be in to go to Machu picchu. Good rooms. Large. Good spread and choice for breakfast and dinner. Attentive staff at restaurant. Bird watching was interesting. Lucky to see the national bird of Peru — Andean Cock-on — the-rock and its female.

Don't drink the water they pour from the pitcher! We paused, but decided that since it was such a beautiful, high end place, it would be ok. It wasn't! Good thing we had already spent 1 day at Machu Picchu, because we were wiped out the 2nd day. I could barely make it back to the bus : /

It is well located, clean, the staff is very kind, all excellent.

The room very cozy and comfortable. Very good service in the restaurant safe in reception q usually take something in the check in but super good. The breakfast and the dinner spectacular.

Hotel El Mapi looks really good from the outside. Rooms however are not quite at the same level, but considering you are in a such remote location, with limited infrastructure, I would say this is a good deal. Rooms are on the smaller side, bathroom was OK, but again small, kind of outdated, "plasticy". We had small draining issues, and all was "foggy" because of the relative "cold' and humidity (we were there late December 2014)

Great hotel with all facilities. Two minutes walking distance to Machu Picchu bus station.

Quite a popular hotel in Aguas Calientes. Staff was very friendly and spoke much better English than my Spanish. Room design was quite modern and attractive, and both breakfast and dinner were quite decent. The hotel is convenient to both the train and bus station in AC. Only downside is that its located on the busy main street, but if you enjoy people watching, that can be a positive. Overall, I recommend the hotel. It was a good place to stay for our trip to Machu Picchu.

Restaurant needs improvement. Garden is beautiful. Rooms are nice. Front desk is helpful but they offered to take my luggage to the train station and then forgot. I had to run back and get them myself. I could have missed my train or left my bags behind. Disaster averted.

A hotel that surprised me for its quality. Undertakes clearly in the concept of recycle and reuse, and proposes this concept in many forms (see photo). The location of the hotel is enviable compared to the bus stop to Machu picchu, the room is very big, the Wi-Fi in mind (even if not fast). Breakfast good, lunch and dinner more than enough, even though The prices are a bit high (beer 0, 33, costs the same as a 0, 66…). In general I would say more than promoted!
