Reviews of Tayta Wasi Hostal
A mixed up experience… We appreciated that they let us in at 3AM after a long ride from Puno (our bus was more than 20 hours late due to the local protests). However we were told that the check out is strictly at 9:30AM and if we want to check out later, we need to pay for half a day, which was $10 in our case. Not the kindest response, but still acceptable and understandable. The problems started after we're given a room (#205) the night we arrived. The room was facing the main street so it was pretty hard to sleep due to heavy traffic. Also, according to other reviews, the bed was supposed to be very comfortable. However, ours was actually pretty small, with a very squeaky bed frame. Finally, we got up in the morning finding a couple of bed bugs having a good time all over the bed sheets. Definitely not the best experience for $21/night, which is above average for hostels in Cuzco. Unfortunately, after communicating everything with the front desk, we didn't even receive an apology…
➜ Very good people awesome average insulation hot water with hot breakfast pressure to choose served with clean kindness but the only snag is the acoustic insulation.
