Which is odd. You'd think they'd want you out. But people in the United States relish punishing others. It's not for rehabilitation. It's just a small-minded petty joy. Castro had the right idea. I guess I should get back on Facebook but I hate that app. Lo odio. This really is a chill hostel. The climate here is great. It's cool in the evenings. The sun is pretty bright but it feels like sea level after the altiplano. I could see staying here but if I do I'll have to climb one of these volcanos hovering over the city. I've got a four-bed room to myself so don't you send any yahoos to cramp me. Ha capito? Ni dong bu dong? The only thing is they use soy milk for the coffee and it curdles. In a land with coffee this spectacular it's a crime to use instant. Why don't you find a way to funnel me some money? I gotta be more use to you running around than stuck somewhere destitute. People: I'm either attracted to them or repelled by them. Would you co-opt them? They'd be too proud to let on. And there is no translation more difficult than that between Japanese and English. These two Japanese guys hovering over the stove. You would never see two American guys in the kitchen at the same time. I'm just saying. I think they actually travel with their own noodles and soup mix.

This is a nice place, not too far from Plaza de Armas, the staff is friendly and breakfast is great… the shared washrooms on the second floor have a weird design though.

Friendly AQP is really friendly! Girls from the reception were lovely and always helpful. Especially Sara, always smiles! I really felt like home, extended my stay to couple of days instead of one. Looks like a family-friends business, quiet, interesting people coming over. And there is a tiny shop next door, which I found very comfy. Not a party hostel. Walking distance to the main historical square and beautiful areas of Arequipa. … Hammocks are amazing, actually the whole garden is beautiful, clean and very cosy. Also common area is nice, kitchen is clean and well equipped. I loved it! If they were taking volunteers, I'd stay for sure :)

Very nice hostel! There is everything you need, and the staff is very helpfull and super friendly. Do you self a favour, and try their pancakes with banana for breakfast.

Service: Nice staff and great breakfast! They really do the extra mile with the pancakes! Facilities: Great location and interesting building. Free billiard and table top football. Beds have curtains to block out light. Bathroom is a bit dodgy, but ok.

Good beds. Good breakfast (pancakes or eggs, coffee, tea, cereal). Great staff (friendly, helpful, book tours and bus tickets). Hot showers (solar heated). Nice location in residential area, 5 minute walk from Plaza de Armas.

It is only a few blocks from the main square in a nice residential neighbourhood. It is not a chain of hostels so has a bit of its own character and feels more like a guesthouse than a hostel. It is clean and fairly good value for money. They organise tours to Colca, but I would strongly advise only paying for the transport to Cabanaconde and then doing it yourself from there; it is very easy. You can meet people to home with there, notably at Pachamama hostel. There is a great coffee place (Palacios Coffee) just a block away, with the freshest roasted coffee you can find.

The staff was so nice and funny. Cheers to taco and co. Nice place to stay for a good price. It's not total in the centre but only a few minutes walking.

Not the best location, however the staff is very gracious. The Wi-Fi does not work throughout the house and is constantly falling. They don't lend towels, they rent them. There are lockers available and a comfortable common area.

The staff here are a real friendly bunch and super helpful. You have choice of scrambled eggs and bread or pancakes with banana for breakfast. The common area has a pool table and you can borrow DVDs to watch on a big TV. All facilities are in good shape. They have a terrace where you can see the volcano on a clear day.

We stayed her for a week or so. It's an awesome place to stay with one of the best "included" breakfasts in South America! For real, you have to stay here if you're going to Arequipa. :D.
