We had an amazing time there! Good atmosphere, great food and the service was superb 💯 The room was a good size with lots of convenience and a small balcony over the water. The bed was so nice, with lots of great pillows. The spa was dreamy, with a very professional and friendly staff. The location is nicely on the waterfront on Tjuvholmen.

Great experience, clean, safe, amazing friendly staff & excellent service. Food was amazing, with gluten free, and also meat free options.

Highly recommended for those trips requiring a little pampering, a little luxury surrounded by great hospitality. Location is awesome year round. Rooms are spacious, comfy and quite. Restaurant is nice but there are many food options in the area.

Expected more attention and professionality There are not bad things, but also there was nothing better than simple SPA in Oslo. Felt like I was in factory. I mean employees were in rush, no time to get ready before massage. After procedure I had to take on my clothes and go out for e. G. : no tea, no water, no sitting area where you can take a harmony seat and enjoy 5 minutes before leaving. I have been in much better places where were high quality, good price, magical aroma, lovely staff and wonderful enviroment. I am so disappointed : ( ( (

Extraordinary food, service and view. We had lunch and a couple of drinks on the rooftop. We were pleasantly welcomed in the lobby and assisted to the elevator up to the rooftop, not that it was needed but still a nice gesture. The food and service was splendid. The price were a bit high but still reasonable given the quality and location.

Gorgeous area. However, calling to room service was a chore. They often didn't pick up and then I would call front desk. They answered most of the time, but a couple of times I had to call again to get someone to answer. The Food they offered was good, but limited menu.

Ambience nice but fixtures and fittings not maintained 1st class. Female staff are very good but all Male staff appear to carry a attitude and not helpful. My wife's views also. Asked Guest Manager for info on traveling from Onslo to Geiranger. Response not helpful at all. He said he did not know. Appeared to sit and talk to his local mates drinking herbal tea all day. Whilst talking to me continued to type on his laptop. Really! Pricing similar to best hotels in Monaco but value only 3 stars at best. Disappointed.

Very nice and cozy hotel, beautiful art pieces everywhere, good food and amazing breakfast. Spa and massage service also very pleasant. Room was just perfect to relax and make a few pictures.

Very nice experience. It´s not just for business. We had a "nano" over night holiday, at The Thief, and we loved it. I recomend the late check out option, if you want to enjoy the spa department and lunch menu. Superb staff.

Attended recruitment event at the top floor venue of the Thief. Magnificent location for smaller company events with high standard facility, great view, excellent food and terrific service from the staff. Perfect also for board meetings etc.

Outstanding hotel. Quality amenities and spaces. Rooms are elegant and with multiple little service touches — very thoughtfully done (cookies, herbal tea and hot water by the bed with the turndown service! ) Like everywhere in Norway, human labour is in short supply but the team on the ground is friendly, enthusiastic and efficient. Will make this my regular hotel.

Wonderful hotel out in the Dock area of Oslo. A short walk to some top attractions such as the Nobel peace Centre and well linked to other areas of the city via buses and trams (also a short walk) lots of nice places to eat and drink close by but they offer great food and drink on site as well. The rooms and spa are perfect and the staff were really friendly. Five star accommodation and service without the pretences. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Oslo.

Nice hotel, but the roof terrace is great with view in several directions, both to the old castle and west where the sun set. During summer there are often live music, check it out. Nice place for a drink with your loved one. Keep your eyes open for the original art on display around the hotel.

Amazing hotel in the new hip district of Oslo. Impeccable service. Comfortable room with a nice view on the harbor of the fjord. Amazing Spa with a beautiful stainless steel swimming pool and a great Hammam. Great breakfast. Probably the place to stay for a week end in Oslo.

Always a pleasure. Beautiful people, great food and lovely atmosphere. If you are lucky to stay here on a Thursday, make sure the unplugged session, with various artists don't pass you by. Ask the bartender to make you his best drink, go to the rooftop and enjoy the killer view over the Oslo fjords. The Thief hotel, with its surroundings, style and warmth is absolutely my favorite hotel in the City.

If you like the W Hotel vibe, you'll love it here. Swanky, trendy… and pricey (even for Oslo). In a relatively new waterfront development with lots of restaurants nearby. Staff very friendly and engaging. Home of the $20 movie-themed cocktail… if you're into that sort of thing.

I would truly give this place 10 stars if I could! I have no complaints or flaws! Check in was quick, my room was absolutely stunning, they really pay attention to details in the rooms and throughout, the hotel is immaculate as is the spa which I am so glad I checked out. The location is super with a lot of great restaurants around. Breakfast was amazing! The bar has hands down the coolest drinks! If you aren't staying here at least come to the bar for drinks and atmosphere. Dominic at the hotel went above and beyond for me and made my stay amazing and helped me get sorted to my next destination which he didn't have to do! Everyone was so helpful and sweet. I loved the decor here. This may be one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed in! It truly is a gem! Thanks Thief for a memorable stay in Oslo! Highly highly recommend!

Great stay. The bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was amazingly diverse. Seeing to everyone's needs such as glutenfree, lactose or vegan options. Simply amazing!

Very nice hotel with helpful staff. The room was tight on space but had a good view with a nice small balcony. Comfortable bed, turndown service leaves you good tea… we enjoyed our stay.

Were on the roof terrace. We expected more. Last time we were here (several years ago), it felt like a real bar, and we enjoyed it very much.
Now the drinks available was very limited, and they were not able to fix simple requests that was not on the menu. And to top it, some items on the menu were not available on the night. Felt more like a cafeteria with alcoholic drinks on the menu than a bar…

The one true Design Hotel in Oslo! The best breakfast I've ever had, great views, super comfortable rooms, stylish decor! Bonus, the room key gets you free entrance to the Astrup Fearnley Moder Art Museum nearby!

An amazing attention to the small, but oh so important details this hotel is absolutely at level with international top hotels! Having had the privilege to stay in many fine hotels around the world over the years as part of my business travels and previously having worked for both Four Seasons and the Dorchester I have become quite the discerning hotel guest, but the Thief delivers! We enjoyed the delicately furnished room with a very comfortable bed and an excellent view. After having enjoyed the pool in the spa we took part in an “Aufguss” session in the sauna which was very relaxing. After a drink in the sun at the rooftop bar we received an excellent dinner at the Thief Foodbar on the roof while listening and watching the live entertainment from the Thief Unplugged festival. Next morning, we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast (The only ‘problem’ was that we ate too much since the choice was so excellent! ) Our ‘staycation’ ended with a nice visit to the Astrup Fearnley museum of modern art, which was included in our stay – nice touch. All in all, The Thief truly lives up to its motto and ’steals you away from everyday life’! We would love to come back! (For the record I work for a company within the hotel group The Thief belongs to, but the review is written solely upon my experience and previous background)

I've just passed by very quickly, in and out really. Now Google asks me what I think of it but it would be unfair to judge the place on my experience. My impression though is that the Thief is a very high standard hotel, way above what I can afford. It's ideally located on Aker Brygge in Oslo. Staying there must be nice but undoubtedly expensive.

Nice enough terrace, but far too pricey and the cocktails were not very good.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Thief. Our room was high up with a good view. The hotel is stylish and felt like a great place to hang out. It is also very convenient for central Oslo with the newly developed docks drawing in a varied crowd of after work drinkers and tourists. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The concierge was particularly good, knowledgeable and efficient, he effortlessly sorted taxis and recommended a couple of very good restaurants for dinner. The bar is smart, with some fun cocktail choices. The spa is compact but pretty good. The hotel also offers the option to check out late for a fee. I would go back.

The thief is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are extremely comfortable with every amenity. Views of the harbor are spectacular and it is convenient to dozens of wonderful waterfront restaurants. The staff is helpful and polite. There is a lovely bar with a fireplace that is a cozy place to go for an after dinner drink. Bathrooms are well-designed — with great showers. One disappointment: There is a lovely rooftop bar/restaurant that opens at 4. We went up at 4:45 and sat down at an empty table. A waitress immediately came over and told us that we most leave, as that table was reserved for dinner. When we questioned her, she said the reservation was for 7. After we assured her that we would leave by 6:30, she told us that they only served hamburgers, hot dogs, and a pork sandwich. She never showed us a menu, but described the hamburger with jalapeño slaw in detail, without mentioning that it was a cheeseburger. My husband cannot eat cheese, so when it arrived, we had to send it back. Understandably, it took time to cook another one. It arrived at 5:45. At 5:50, another waitress abruptly came over and said we had to leave immediately as there was a mistake about the time of the reservation. My husband barely had time to eat the replacement burger. They were most firm and unpleasant about us leaving instantly. They did not charge us, but we would have preferred to pay and enjoy and finish our early dinner while enjoying the beautiful weather and atmosphere.

An absolutely stunning hotel in the newer part of Oslo. The hotel bar and restaurants are amazingly delicious. The rooms were luxurious and the staff was quick to help.

If any of you are looking for really good hotel deals I would check out HotelRaven. Com I saved a ton of money using that site. The Thief is an exceptional world-class hotel. The food served in the restaurant was local and marvelously prepared. Luxurious rooms with lovely extra touches. We cannot compliment the staff enough. To a person, they were actively friendly and concerned for our comfort and interests. We would return in a heartbeat!

Never again In the evening of Saturday August 15 the hotel organized a wedding party exactly in the second floor, exactly below the one where we were staying (Room 316). Vibrations and noise were really strong. The call to reception allowed us to know that the vibrations were going to stay the same until 3 AM. The hotel did absolutely nothing for solving the problem, nor to reduce just a bit the noise. So, until 3AM it was impossible to get some sleep and our next day in Oslo was ruined. We have learned from other reviews that this kind of parties (closing the restaurant for the paying guest) are no exceptional in the hotel policy The next day when we reported that we wanted to make a formal complaint all were good words by the Guest Relation Manager. Although surprisingly enough we had the meeting in the middle of the street and not seated as we would have expected. He offered us, and we accepted, not to charge us anything (with no further specifications) which resulted in the deduction of a night of our stay. A win-win situation for the hotel: it makes all the revenue coming for the wedding meeting minus just the amount of a night room rate. And because we complaint!. The facts remain i) the hotel book rooms just above where a party was going to be organized (and for people like us without relation with the party) and ii) did absolutely nothing to moderate the unbearable noise during seven hours.

Celebrating my birthday with my family, drink at the roof first and that place is the best place in the hotel! Went to the fodder and all of us ordered the famous burger, waited 1 our before we got served the meal. The burger tasted ok, but there where no greens or sausage… just bread with rosins and 3 very tiny small dry potatoes. Thats it! Most expensive plain burger in town and overcharged water. The bar in first floor are perfect and so the roof. I visit the hotel frequently with customers and meetings and love the atmosphere, men prefer to eat somewhere else!

Fantastic hotel experience, I recommend all to stay at THE THIEF at least once.

Fool's gold or a hollow bunny comes to mind to describe the hotel bar from my experience when I took friends here. You pay five star prices at the bar but receive a 2 star service devoid of care and a laissez-faire attitude of someone working in a dive bar. People aren't exactly looking to please or help. Furthermore our ordered Gin and Tonics already had the tonic poured in.

Fantastic hotel, my experience here was great. Slightly concerned at the arrival through the underground car park. I will stay here on my future trips to Oslo for sure.
