We had the greatest stay at the very charming and beautiful Holmvik Brygge in Nyksund. The rooms are unique and have an authentic touch to them. Most of the rooms in the main building have shared bathrooms, and there is a shared kitchen area too. Everything is nice and clean, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking. The common areas are super cozy, and decorated with historical objects from Nyksund, which makes the common spaces very interesting. The staff is very welcoming and sweet and have lots of knowledge about the exciting history of the buildings and the area. Nyksund is a very special village with a interesting past, and the story of Holmvik Brygge is worth looking in to. There is plenty of activities in the area, with the famous hike Dronningruta maybe as the biggest attraction. Because of a lot of wind, we did not dare to go hiking, but we’re sure it is worth it then the weather allows to. On the premises there is a restaurant (we did not try it, but the menu looks great! ) and a cozy little store with local art, books and souvenirs well worth a visit. We sure hope to be back some day, and can totally recommend going there.
