Fabulous kitchen. Good location. Very close to supermarket. I went for a lake view room. However this is west facing to heats up in the day. Save some money and go for a double without a view.

Room has bathroom and kitchenette, comfy bed and clean sheets. Cozy lounge area. Walking distance to lakeside and New World for groceries. Kitchen is well equipped, gets very busy during dinner time. Although labels are provided for food belongings, please keep your valuables with you instead of placing at the common kitchen lockers to avoid belongings being taken accidentally by others. Pool table and TV room are available for leisure. Bikes are available for hire too.

Cozy, comfortable and affordable place. Rooms are neat and decent in size. Kitchen is fully equipped. All conviniences and attractions are just a short walk.

The kitchenette and bathrooms in the rooms makes it noisy when you share a room with inconsiderate people and youre trying to sleep. Pretty cold in winter to walk outside to rooms. Main kitchen is also lacking some equipmentv (like proper sized bowls and small cutting knives) Apart from that very friendly staff.

Great place with lots to do, pool table, movie nights, info on everything in town, large very clean kitchen. Would recommend.

Stayed at lake view room. Magnification view from the room. Clean. But, was too cold. The bathroom 's light and fab is the same switch. When you turn on light, the fan will be triggered, it was too cold. And there is no blanket heater, the heater was so far from the bed and hanging up in the ceiling. Basically the heat cannot heat up the room. Beautiful place but I cannot come back again.

Awesome hostel, good facilities and processes implemented. Many areas to relax in around the hotel depending if you want to watch tv, play pool, read a book, enjoy a fire etc. Rooms were sound and comfortable and bathroom facilities were good.

Great central location with a nice lounge. Plus a nice deck looking down towards the lake. And a supermarket about 2 minutes walking distance away.

I had the six-person room with bathroom and shower en suite. A good location with easy access to the lake and downtown. Loved the view large view of the park and lake from the common area. Decks were spacious and inviting. I visited during a really hot spell, and the lack of AC was uncomfortable… I ended up dragging some bean bags from the TV room and into the deck, where I slept.

Nice staff, and nice apartments two rooms for 2 people each with shared kitchen and bathroom.

Spacious room. With a view of heaven. Amazing place must stay here. Very clean bathrooms with spacious living room. Absolutely loved it. The sunrise n sunset from the room is amazing.

Cool place. Has all the required amynities. Big kitchen area. Bathrooms are inside rooms. Has Free Wi-Fi. Right next to the lake Wanaka. Very near to the supermarket. Lots of car parking spaces.

Cozy and great facilities. We stayed in a detached unit so it had its own bathroom and kitchenette (microwave and kettle, basic crockery). Otherwise the main building also had several bathrooms. There was a drying room to put all your wet stuff after coming back from the slopes and there were also movie nights. The staff were really friendly and gave us lots of good recommendations for what to do.

Good hostel, clean rooms and well equipped kitchen. Free pool was awesome, also really close to the city center wich was great.

The location is good, but the room left much to be desired of the similar they have in Franz Josef.

High quality place. Lovely view from the front porch and great kitchen facilities. They even have mountain bikes for hire out back. Wish the Wi-Fi worked better… : (

Loved loved loved my time at YHA Wanaka. Why is it called Purple cow though? I don't know. Cleanser rooms, friendly service, wonderful location, great view!

The view from main lounge is amazing. Kitchen excellent. Everything very clean. Great central location that's within easy walking distance to supermarket, bars, restaurants and the Lake. Even though it's so close to town it's very quiet. Highly recommend.

One of the best yha's I've stayed at. All the usual things — big lockers in my room, kitchen with plenty of cutlery, lounge area, etc. Plus the staff are super helpful if you need to book trips and very friendly. There is also a pool table and heaters in the rooms.

They think of everything (kitchen, showers very functional). I'd also lost my wallet the day before and the kind woman at the front desk helped me come up with an innovative way to pay using PayPal. Top place, highly recommend.

Great place, even better staff. Was very helpful with organising my group's transport as well. Highly recommended.

Nice basic backpacker hostel. The twin room with shared accommodation was livable. Wifi not strong, though. Sheets and amenities were clean.

I've stayed in my fair share of hostels before, but the cheapest room in the building. The 8-bed dorm wasn't that bad. The shower is attached to the room so you don't have to shuffle down the hallway with all of your toiletries, etc. Hallways were quiet at night. The internet connection wasn't great, but it worked. All-in-all. A decent hostel.
