This hotel that has a family feel to it. Being a tour driver I've stayed in quite a few places and the place has a homely feel to it. The place and most certainly the staff make it a great place. Could do with aircon though in the summer.

In the middle of nowhere but close to lovely walking teach near Mount Cook.
Scenic flight off 50 minutes from nearby airfield to Mount Cook and 4 glaciers.

A very clean hotel albeit one that never felt warm in the room. No double glazing and the fan heater had to stay on full all night to keep the room above 10C. Bed was comfortable.

Great view of Mt Cook with relaxing seating n great food n drink.

Old place, but clean and well kept. Superb staff and great atmosphere.

It is a roadside motel, having good facilities, for food, rest, location excellent, food good, lot of open spaces, neat and clean.

Nice place to stay, very busy place. Needs better Wi-Fi deal. 500mb is gone in a couple of hours. Should be unlimited.

Eilish and Waaji were amazing in the restaurant. Fabulous food! Was sooooo good we went back. Jacqui and the team were amazing. Food was spectacular once again. Thanks team.

A good place to stay. Plenty of parking, clean rooms, free Wi-Fi (500Mb for 5 days per device), has a good bar and restaurant. We enjoyed the 38$ buffet dinner (16$ for kids). Would give it a 5 if the internet speed and capacity was more. Rooms are spacious. Mattresses aren't all in good condition but not too uncomfortable either. The bathroom is ok, but the tub isn't long enough to fit anyone above 5ft 8". The shower head isn't high enough either. There are two options for the balcony views, one looking over the garden and other one over the parking. Go for the garden view.

Nice hotel. Older. Lovely courtyard. Breakfast buffet was poor at best.

Nice rooms, easy friendly check-in. Close to restaurants. Excellent stop for next day adventures of mt cook, tekapo and surrounding areas. Make sure you pop out on the balcony during the night for star gazing. Short of 5 star due to musty smelling bathroom, slightly dated and a few items not operating e. G. Bathroom fan, Wi-Fi signal weak, fridge noisy.

Reception staff were great and very helpful, enjoyed a nice buffet meal for dinner and had the full cooked for breakfast and all well worth it. Rooms were very good and facilities good. Only issue is with enjoying the clean green NZ air having the balcony door and windows open the smokers chain smoking in the room below and all we could smell in our room was cigarette smoke. Good to see they put the rooms glassware to good use all night as an ashtray and left it outside all… night with the footstool. I think all balconies should be non smoking. They have no consideration at all for others in this situation.

Had a lovely dinner. Waijii the host with the most. Nothing was a problem. Deanna in reception and Eilish in the bar. Great team thanks guys.

Simple chalet style lodging that gives what is necessary for a one or two night stay. Staff is very very friendly and helpful. Always greeting the guests warmly.

This is a relatively old fashioned country motel. Clean and quiet in a quiet location. Expensive restaurant breakfast and no toaster in the room. Also we booked for 4 people and got 3 of everything except towels. Shower was good lots of hot water. Wifi worked well. Parking on site. Receptionist hsd a REALLY worried tourist Mum in front of me… dealt with her helpfully and compassionately… in spite of the fact I was waiting and many othets… good job. She was then efficient and helpful with everyone else… including the coachload piling into the lobby. Would stay again.

Price performance is okay. Good starting point for tours to Lake Pukaki or Mount Cook.

Stayed for one night in a 1 bedroom motel unit. The unit was very clean, cozy and well setup. There was a full range of kitchen items, great large shower and plenty of heaters if it got cold.

Our room is due for a spruce up but perfectly clean and had fantastic beds comfortwise. We were a late booking for holiday weekend which probably explains room. Excellent restaurant which was very popular. Would def. Return to this place asap. Thankyou to all involved in our enjoyable stay.

First room I was in was in need of a revamp, second room I was in had been revamped (re-modeled). Overall, comfort was good, room was warm with the heater (night store) going but did make a bit of noise during the night. Bar/Restaurant closed what seemed quite early on the night's were there (Friday / Saturday). Has nice open fire place to gather round, especially good in winter. Overall was a good place to stay and comfortable.

Sadly, the MCI is looking tired. When we got to the inn we both had head colds and just wanted to unpack and relax. The key we were given to our room didn't work. My partner went to reception and was given another key that also didn't work. By this stage I just wanted to lie down so I went to reception and asked for a room with a key that worked. The girl said that all of the keys needed a bit of jiggle to work and came back to the room with me. The key didn't work for her either so she went off to get the maintenance man. The key didn't work for him either and commented that it was strange and that he'd lost his master set of keys earlier in the day and wondered if he'd left them in the other side of the lock when he was in the room earlier in the day. We finally got a room with a key that worked. We were put right next to a section of the inn that was under renovation and the smell of fresh paint was all through the hallway. The heating system in the room was loud and took hours to heat the room up. One of the electric blankets on my bed didn't work. Water pressure in the shower was hopeless. We had dinner in the restaurant — the buffet seemed to cater more to the bus load of Chinese tourists staying there so we opted for al a carte which was average for the price we paid.

Classic and old fashion hotel. Come with a positive attitude, this hotel offer a very classic feeling, the room is clean, got a bathtub, although bathroom need some work, and warmer need some work too. They also have a native cat living here, very cute cat. They also have a bar with a nice fireplace. And also, this hotel is also one of the hotel booked by lord of the ring crews when they filmed one of the scenes in the area around here.

Decor outdated but ok. Great atmosphere around open fireplace in bar and dining room. Restaurant needs to get decent coffee ☕ staff very helpful and breakfast/dinner buffet nice but abit on the costly side. Enjoyed our stay.

Although the decor is a little outdated rooms are very spacious and clean. As it was winter we enjoyed the fireplace in the bar. The very friendly and attentive service.

I love this place have all our family birthday parties anniversaries are all celebrated here. Food is amazing. The staff are so lovely. The staff are polite fast n do a great job. Love love love this place. If you want to have an amazing dining experience you won't be disappointed. I'd like to give you twenty stars. Well done to all the staff and thank you for making our miles stones delicious mmmmmm…

Great place. Throw back to traditional ski lodges. Dinner is tasty and plentiful. Breakfast is devoid of fresh fruit but has many Kiwi classics. The bar is a place to relax and meet guests in front of an often fed wood fire place. The rooms are well furnished. The in room TV service lacks come channels. The payper view Rugby matches will be playing in the bar. The staff is attentive to your needs. I once ran into a staff member at the market, about two weeks after my first stay, and she remembered me and asked if I was staying in town again! How is that for a personal touch!
