We had an amazing weekend down at Wallingford… we can’t wait to return. The hospitality and warmth from Jeanette and Dean made you feel at home… food was exceptional we didn’t get to see Chris he was busy creating in the kitchen … Thank you x.

Thank you Chris, Jeanette and your fabulous staff for the most memorable night last night. The 2nd time this year we have had the privilege of being looked after by you wonderful people. The whole experience was awesome, the food was minimum of 250% perfect, the ambiance perfect, the rooms very comfy and the wine perfect! Just trying to hunt out an excuse to come back! D x.

I recently stayed at Wallingford Homestead for 4 days because I wanted to escape the hustle bustle and recharge. I was blown away by the beauty of the property, the luxurious, private, cozy accommodation and the general relaxed vibe. The gardens, the pool, the sitting by the fire.
The hosts Jeanette and Chris, were warm and welcoming — super attentive but not intrusive.
As for the food? Some of the most delicious I have EVER had (not kidding). Homemade everything.
If you visit Hawke’s Bay Area, this Homestead is a MUST.

Love love the welcoming homemade organic tea. Warmly greeted by the hospitality hostess. The dinner was amazingly delicious which all cooked by the host. How lucky we were to stay in the dream home. Hope we will come back soon to stay more nights here.

Outstanding place and great hosts.

Magical is the best way to describe Wallingford Homestead. We had a fabulous weekend and attended the degustation dinner and wine evening, and it was a great party with non stop laughter! Gareth and Chad were brilliant hosts and have so much knowledge about the homesteads history. And I have to make a mention of the amazing pillows! We'll definitely be back.

What an awesome place. A group of us spent yesterday afternoon there for a hens party lunch. The host, Chad, was knowledgeable, despite only taking over at the end of last month. He was also very friendly and enjoyed a great laugh. I suggest everyone needs to visit and enjoy a meal, and a house and garden tour.

We stayed with a group of 21. After 2 weeks of staying in various accommodation this homestead is undoubtedly the best. The food is outstanding and caters for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Jen, Sue and Charlotte — who call themselves the three old tarts — did everything to make our stay remarkable in every way. The house and its cosy library of old books and silver are full of history; beds etc are comfortable, the amenities modern. Alfie the dog is eying up the ball or stick and is forever hopeful somebody will throw it for him. The place feels like home, but easier because we were looked after and catered for.

What a special weekend made even more special by the absolutely wonderful Jenny and the staff at Wallingford. Jenny makes you feel like you are at home, you can happily get up in the morning in your dressing gown and sit and have a cuppa. The rooms are lovely, electric blanket turned on and curtains closed before you go to bed. I cannot fault anything about this beautiful place. Thanks again Jenny and the girls for making the weekend of Megan and Rhys's Wedding fantastic.
