Hubby & I really enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at Te Mata Lodge. Everyone was so friendly & helpful. Our unit was comfortable, spacious & we look forward to returning real soon.

A wonderfully clean and quiet place in central Havelock North. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious. Highly recommend.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our 2 nights stay in our one bedroom apartment located on the ground floor. The room was presented by the host who took the time to close up our room and turned the heat pump on for comfort which helped, as it was cool on our arrival. Very comfortable bed and the jet spa bath was a bonus.
We ordered breakfast one word ‘delicious’.
I would absolutely recommend this accommodation, we will definitely return with our children.

Nice little motel. A lot of thought has gone into the design and layout of the rooms. Some rooms also have spa baths in their rooms. Has sky to watch TV and very close walk to town to go out for dinner. Only let down for the room was the shower. The curtain isn’t big enough to stop the water flooding out into the bathroom. And the shower head does not put out much water and water pressure is quite low.

Best lodge I have ever stayed in. Care takers are friendly. Rooms are spacious, good sunlight and clean. Breakfast you need to order separately but it's average. I would rather get some breakfast from the grocery store or bakery at a walkable distance. Number of good restaurants within walking distance is the best advantage of the location.

Best motel in Havelock North. One minute walk to town center. Comfortable modern rooms, very clean and quiet. Everything that you could possibly need.

Great hospitality at this well located Lodge. Your hosts Tom & Esther go that extra mile. Were kind enough to book a hair appointment for me @ a nearby salon. Nicely appointed, clean, modern units include extra comfy bed & spa bath with a nice outlook. Very handy location directly across from the gorgeous Havelock North Village. Heaps of Restaurant & Bars only walking distance. Also bike trails are fantastic in all directions. Highly recommended.

Corporate guests are always accommodated here… all very tidy and clean.

Nice and spacious rooms with modern bathrooms. Owner is very friendly. Walking distance to supermarket and shops.

The rooms were ok, but the lady behind the desk was very rude to us, the price we were charged was $30 more then what was advertised on this site and when queried, she became rude and condescending. (We were told we were lying) There were other cars parked in our spots (no attempt to find the owners to move them, otherwise the hotel and carpark were empty). We walked out and didn't stay. Unfortunately the desk lady was just too rude, please work on your customer service and skills.

Te Mata Lodge is an ideal central location both to explore the rural charm of Hawke’s Bay and also to enjoy all the entertainment in the nearby twin cities of Napier and Hastings. These two historical centres offer everything from Art Deco Tours, the National Aquarium, Splash Planet theme park, theatre, cinema and a vibrant nightlife. Or enjoy a spot of sailing or charter a boat for a day out on the water. My first choice.

Excellent Motel, clean, comfortable bed, well positioned, Glen in reception was very welcoming, recommend staying if your going that way.

Corporate rates available. Seasonal rates may apply. For each extra person over two per unit there is a $20 charge.

Great location. Clean. Quiet at night. Spacious. Comfy bed. Only limited free Wi-Fi access.

Stayed 3 times. Clean & comfortable. The last stay when I arrived they had even warmed my room and turned the electric blanket on. Yay v cold night. Highly recommended.
