Amazing place to stay, a beautiful property from the moment you drive in. Lush grounds, stunning rooms, the chooks, rabbits, alpacas and ponies add something extra. Peter & Paul are gracious hosts deeply connected to the region with great recommendations of places to visit. I’m definitely going back.

Great location, wonderful breakfast and very helpful and friendly hosts. Already looking forward to our next stay.

Paul and Peter are thoughtful and fabulous hosts. Nothing is a problem and their eye for detail is amazing. Artwork is to die for all throughout the house. The rooms are spacious and all the extras are fabulous. I cant fault this beautiful property and these two remarkable custodians. Thanks for making my husbands 70th memorable and hopefully will see you again soon.

Super place to stay — excellent facilities, beautiful house and gardens.
The house is a showplace of art and very well decorated. Very clean with modern rooms and bathrooms.
Peyer and Paul are outstanding hosts — they go above the norm to make your stay great. They do extra things that are not normally found in a B&B.
Breakfast were outstanding — all local ingredients very well prepared by the team.
We loved the place and will try to come back again.

Hawthorne House is a stunning place we were lucky enough to stay at. Pete and Paul are the perfect hosts! Thoughtful, caring, welcoming and attentive. They have created an oasis with opulent rooms each with its own thoughtfully crafted theme. The house presents lavish decor with fantastic art on display throughout whilst the stunning gardens and grounds are tranquil and peacefully inviting with the soft sounds of the countryside. There is so much on offer here, Pete and Paul provide brilliant local tips with many exciting and delicious spots close by to check out. It is truely a special place, but you have to stay here to see why.

A wonderful place to stay — welcoming home with luxurious rooms. The house is set in beautiful grounds and each room has a private space to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. The hosts — Peter and Paul — were so gracious and made us feel at home. The breakfast was amazing, all locally sourced products including the eggs from the chickens on site… Can't recommend this place high enough… we'll definitely be back…

You could not ask for better hosts than Peter and Paul! Such friendly, welcoming, organised, caring and professional people! A very competent team that compliment each other beautifully. We held our wedding at Hawthorne House and Peter and Paul did all they could to make it the magical day it was for us and our guests. They were discreetly on hand for all of our needs. Hawthorne House is presented immaculately inside and out with all needs catered for. It was so convenient to have such beautiful grounds for our photos. Having such genuine caring hosts made our day stress free. We had some of our wedding guests stay at Hawthorne House the night before our wedding and they too could not speak more highly of the experience Peter and Paul provide. It was important to us that our grandmothers were comfortable on our special day, Peter and Paul recognised this and were so gentle and kind towards them. My husband recalled the breakfast provided as absolutely devine, a perfect start to our wedding day. Such cheerful chaps with vibrant energy abound. We will be returning for our future anniversaries as we just can not quite get enough of Hawthorne House and its' tremendous hosts. We highly recommend a stay with Peter and Paul! You will not find better in Hawkes Bay in our opinion. Well above 5 stars!

Checked in today. Amber room isn’t the same as the photo. This room was filthy.
Found a mans knickers under the bed. And a mouse in the room. Disappointing.

Hawthorne House was a lovely venue for our small wedding in its beautifully kept gardens. We stayed two nights and hosts were super friendly and helpful. We loved the high quality furnishings and a classic setting. Also the pre-dinner drinks! It is a beautiful home, inside and out, which we happily recommend.

Beautiful home and really lovely hosts. Danny and Karen made us so welcome and we really enjoyed the ambience and locality. A truly beautiful home and fabulous property. Will no doubt be back again.

Beautiful Edwardian mansion and gorgeous gardens. Lovely room. A stay here is just like being a guest of the family. New owners Karen and Danny are welcoming, helpful and go that extra mile to make sure your stay is memorable. Breakfast is freshly cooked and the 6 pm drinks and snacks on the terrace is a great way to chat with Karen and Danny and the other guests. If you are in that area then stay here.

Pretty good united states is better at hotels this was just plain.

Amazing place, stayed there this past weekend, lovely hosts, great rooms and hospitality, couldn't have asked for more.

What a welcome! Superb hosts, beautiful house and garden. Loved my breakfast. Wished we could have stayed for much much longer. Thank you Debbie & Paul for giving us one of our best memories of your beautiful home & country xxxx.

A great place, the hosts are real good sorts, Paul makes a mean coffee and Debbie, is well, it has probably all be said before a great hostess and they make a breakfast of champions, take the detour and spend a night here, we will be back.
