Terrible experience. I was part of the master Environmental Biology. The teachers do not give classes (its all about reading some articles or books, they dont really make any effort to teach) and they could care less about their students. Despite being an international master, the english level of the teachers is very poor and their attitude towards foreign students is xenophobic, rude and extremly unfair. They would mock my country or assume that I know less than the Dutch students just from coming from the south of Europe. I did not met any foreign student that was happy in the master and wanted to stay.
A nice spot to visit around Utrecht Centruum, located within walking distance from Utrecht Centraal Station. It's close to other landmarks of Utrecht (e. G. The Dom) so visiting it will worth your time. It has a nice small garden inside.

I will say that the university's History department has some good professors. However, the majority of the people in that department were vile and rude. I saw vile because they would gossip about students and share information about them. I found the department as well as certain aspects of the wider university to be chaotic and lacking in organisation. The programme leader could not organise his way out of a paper bag. I had one teacher who tried to destroy my self confidence and wrote very rude and discouraging remarks on a piece of work that I handed in to her. The housing team was and other people connected to the university were so out of touch with certain students. I had the feeling that they did not like British students and mature students over the age of 30. I was self employed when I attended but left after the second period. Thankfully, I'm in a much better university where I'm able to concentrate on a topic I am most passionate about. Most of the people I encountered were very unfriendly and arrogant. Many were so called 'social justice warriors' but yet were every excluding and elitist by attitude. No, I would not recommend this university and hope that the two wonderful professors that I had leave that university and apply to teach elsewhere. I got the feeling they knew how awful the place was as well.
