Having been to Dom Tower 7/21/18, there is scaffolding and construction materials everywhere. The climb is safe, and once at top it is not safe. I could not get any photographs. A big disappointment. Before leaving, I had a word about it & I was told to come back next year.

When we were in Utrecht, we climbed this beautiful church tower. Our tour guide speaks both Dutch and English and told us very interesting information about the history of this tower how it was separated from the cathedral. This tower has 465 steps and as high as 112 metres. Once on top we were rewarded by the most spectacular view of Utrecht. This is also a beautiful place for a wedding location. I highly recommend this place.

The whole of Utrecht is like a palm through the grate. The tour is Dutch-English. They gave a leaf to the Russian. The stairs are steep. 25.50 for three.

If you're visiting Utrecht, you should definitely visit the tower. Not for claustrophobic people though… the stairs get really tight. The view from the top is very impressive because you can see very far because well… the Netherlands are you know… flat.

A landmark. A must see. And not just the tower which is a remarkable building… The history about the separation of the tower and the remaining part of the cathedral is worth a visit. Keep in mind that the location dates back to the roman era (dom under) and the location where the historical treaty of Utrecht was signed is just around the corner. This place breathes history.

Tallest church tower in Netherlands offering amazing views of Utrecht, and on a clear day. Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Our tour guide was very nice and allowed us to walk the tower at our own pace. Highly recommend!

Beautiful city where you mixture the modern with the old.

A frankly beautiful tower, the size of which is hard to imagine when you look at it from a distance. Unfortunately Google's info on the openning hours are far from correct. As far as I know now from my experience, the tower is hardly ever open for the public. I wouldn't count on it to ever be open. There's a lovely brewery right beside the tower though, where you can have a beer under the clear sky and stare at the tower in awe.

Excellent views from the top, even though it was a little overcast when I visited. Currently doing construction on the tower so some of the views were slightly obstructed by scaffolding. The construction didn’t take away from the experience. You need to have a guide to climb the tower, so make sure you stop by the tourist office at the base of tower and get tickets for the guided tour.

On the square of the dam… There are many beautiful places and this is one of them.

Entry into the group only, tickets are sold in the tourist office near the tower (tours once an hour). Climb hard, steps are quite high, not to say that the view from the top was worth it, but for general development is not bad. On Saturdays at 11am from the bell tower play interesting melodies!

It deserves a visit. Beautiful Gothic cloister.

I have to compliment the person in charge, because it is certainly not just under these conditions — many people, cold, narrow, many levels — to be as friendly, positive and helpful as I am here in the tower and the Connected Information Office. The ascent runs as my words suggest. Information is available in Dutch or English. The view is then rather modest at the end, because the builders to today's tourists simply did not think. The balustrade is too high. I can still recommend it if you like to go up towers.

Main religious building with the cathedral of the city of Utrecht, dedicated to St. Martin of Tours was Catholic cathedral Dino at 1580, when it passed to the Protestant cult. An example of Gothic architecture, to which other bell towers were inspired. Become in the time symbol of the city itself. Built between 1321 and 1382. It is the tallest bell tower in the country with its 112 meters. In the past a bow connected it to the nave of the cathedral, but it was destroyed by Hurricane 1674. The bells of the carillon are mostly to the Hemony brothers. From the Superior Gallery magnificent view of the city and its surroundings.

Worth it for his very good life on Utrecht. A lot of wind so take what not to die of cold! The tour of the place with a guide is interesting.

I highly recommend climbing the Dom tower. The interior is impressive and the views are magnificent, particularly on a clear day. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

Super Beautiful Dom. The highest church tower in the Netherlands.

My friends and I planned the tour to visit the tower. I expected it to be okay not very interesting, but it was very interesting. Our tour guide told a lot of different information and I really enjoyed it. Utrecht is a very beautiful city, so when we arrived at the top we had a very great view on the city. I definitely do recommend it.

The 465 climbing steps to the top of the tower are worth the effort. Guided tours in English. €9 Adults.

We had a great time. We did a special kid-friendly tour with our kids (8, 6 and 3) and really enjoyed. The guide was nice and was patient with all the questions coming from the children.

A very good place if you want to see the city of Frankfurt. It is worthwhile to climb the more than three hundred steps and the discomfort of the narrowness of the staircase, where both those who climb and those who come down, have to do pirouettes to continue. The views are worth it.

You can buy tickets for the tower inside the tourist info on the north side of the square. The tour guides are friendly and the groups are not too big. If there are enough foreigners, the tour will be guided in English as well. The top observation deck is at a height of 95 meter. There also is a smaller one at 70 meter. The staircase from 70-95 meter is very tight and not suitable for overweight visitors. When I visited, there was a wedding, so they extended the tours until 6. It was already dark by then. It will offer a different view from the top. In winter it can get very cold at the top so gloves are recommended.

Good place to go to get ones bearings after climbing the 400+ steps to the top. The climb to the top is spread over 3 different levels so you don't do it in one go. Access to the tower is via a guided tour that leaves at fixed times and takes about 90 minutes. The guide explains in Dutch and English the history of the tower and church. He also makes sure that the group only climbs one level at a time. There is no elevator and the stairs at the higher levels become quite narrow but if you take your time getting to the top is worth it.

Be sure to take a tour, but don't put on good footwear for people who fear heights.

Utrecht has a very nice historic city centre with cosy canals.

Climb 460+ steps for one of the greatest view in the Netherlands. Tour guides take you up, stage by stage and give you the history (600 years). Very popular, so best book online first.

Nice tour till the top floor. Good explanation by experienced guide. A children tour is also existing. Small stairs! Make reservation online or buy at the tourist information desk. Also from there the tour will start. Maybe an idea to can see more with an — not yet excisting — extended tour… Dom-under at the same square is also advised. Separate ticket, two doors to the right.

A beautiful square full of history. The site was originally founded by the Romans. Definitely worth a visit. Climb the tower with the guide add to the experience if you are able to climb stairs. Visit the church before closing time at 5pm. Don't miss the herbal garden on the right of the church entrance.

I understand this top be the tallest tower in the Netherlands. You can see Amsterdam from the top, along with other wonderful sights, including a random giant tea cup. The stairs are quite narrow, and you have to stay with your tour group. There is a terrific instrumental bell system near the top.

Relatively inexpensive entrance, something about 10 euros, then a long, but interesting way upstairs on almost 500 steep steps and here you are upstairs! It is incredible that such things could be built in the later Middle Ages without modern technology. From the site open a beautiful view of the whole of Utrecht! It's worth it!

Fantastic historical building. To view the inside you need to book and pay a tour at the information centre which takes an hour and is not for the faint hearted. There are alot of stairs to climb (3 levels that you stop to look and catch your breath) and you get within 5m from the top of the tower where there are fantastic views of Utrecht. Once inside the tour guide locks everyone in and takes the tour. You can not get out without the guide unlocking the door again. You are also not permitted to take bags. There are lockers at the information centre to leave your bags. Is worth doing and is a great tourist attraction.

One of the highest attractions in the Netherlands. It is worth to visit the excursion and climb 470 steps up to the observation deck.

Inside and upstairs you can get so much with a tour (up to 10 euros per person). Tickets are better to buy in advance. The cashier in the building on the left, if standing face to the cathedral and back to the tower.
The ascent is gradual, with breaks and a story about the history of the tower.
There are 2 sites-at the very top panoramic on all four sides.

Great food, great service, great time! And a great start with Gin Mare.

On Fri afternoon 16:00, it feels almost like the last — minutes search — where to have a nice dinner to reward ourselves for a busy week, luckily still possible to reserve dinner for two with Simple. Turned out it is not simple at all.
The food is interesting and delicious, the wine pairing with the dishes is simply great. The service is very good, we have sufficient attention from the staff and not like usual experience (always waiting) in other restaurant.
Staff is knowledg…eable about wine and food, we got very detailed explanation. The space between each tables is enough so you don't feel like sit as sardine in a can. The atmosphere is very cozy with green plant hanging in the air, simple but elegant. The restroom for lady is very neat and enough space so you don't have that "claustrophobia" feeling It is a very nice evening to have dinner at Simple and looking forward to try their 2016 Christmas menu, or from time to time the new monthly menu too Simple is simply great :)

Great hotel with some quirky extras! After checking in and taking a ride on the world's slowest elevator to my room (which they call suites), I was pleasantly surprised to find out the room really was a suite. With the bed in the center of the room, no real bathroom (bath tub in the room, plus a walk-in shower in the other corner) this is not your standard hotel room. The bed was great, and everything was as you should expect from a 4 star hotel. Everything? Well, just a couple of minor idiosyncrasies. The floor mat (which doubled as a yoga mat I'm told) was lying loose on the floor, which sent me surfing across the floor a couple of times. The lid on the battery compartment of the TV remote was loose, causing it to drop regularly. And the breakfast was a bit underwhelming. And last, the hotel is situated right next to the (in) famous Dom church, which does make itself heard at all hours (damn those church bells! }. But when you book a room at a hotel called Dom that's something to be expected I guess. But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Dom hotel, and can heartily encourage everyone to book a stay there!

Love the yoga book and mat in the room. Excellent spacious rooms, and bath. Real luxury. Absolutely sublime, one point knocked off for not having air-con, but it's a historic building so… Location perfection. Actually I would expect to pay about twice as much as what we did.

Hotel Dom, is a luxurious getaway in middle of Utrecht. The hotel opened it’s doors in March 2011 and is now one of the go to places of Utrecht. At Hotel Dom you can sit along side tourists, business men and local people to enjoy your spare time. Try the cocktail when you are visiting.
