So, I’m completely befuzzled as to how this is a 4 star hotel. I mean, who is grading hotels and how are they grading them?! They don’t warn you that there is a live talk show with a band and audience held in the bar every night from Monday to Thursday. The square is so ridiculously noisy, it’s laughable. You’d be lucky to get 5 hours sleep a night while there. The hotel is old and not one cent has been spent on it for a looooong time. The second star is only because it is pretty central with easy walking access to cool spots. If you’re prepared to suffer the noise and general run down state of the hotel because you’re planning to smoke and drink yourself to sleep then you’re good to go here. The staff are young and helpful enough so no complaints there. The price/value ratio here is dramatically out of sync.

Excellent location. Good breakfast. Great clean bed. Nice view from the window. In general, it is not possible to say that the hotel is fashionable, but its location and the presence of a garage nearby compensate for all imperfections.

Not the best to be a 4 star but acceptable!

Great Hotel. Excellent location in the centre of Amsterdam, in a lively area, 10 minutes walk from Dam Square. Varied breakfast and quality products. To come back no doubt.

Great location and bar area. Rooms clean if a little on the small side. Bathroom was a little tired.

The hotel was absolutely amazing! I read the comment before hand and was a little skeptical about the hotel but, once I spent three nights there, I can honestly say that there was not a single thing I would change in the hotel. Super amazing staff, the room we got was bigger than the one we booked and the view, to the back of the building was very pretty and quiet. Very comfortable and clean room. The hotel is in a perfect location: 15 minute walk of the museums and the Dam, good enough to walk everywhere but also great to escape a bit of the confusion and commotion. The canals south are an amazing place to take a walk and enjoy the views of Amsterdam. This hotel was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Amsterdam.

Very nice place, very nice people, everything was clean and well. Good breakfast. I already sent some of my friends there and I'll be back myself.

Small room with a noise in the heating system. Not slept.

This hotel is located right at the Rembrandtplein in one of the night life area of Amsterdam. At our arrival we have been welcomed friendly and the first thing you get to recognize is that old style of this hotel. It has an atmosphere of the 19th century and all the way to the room seems to be a labyrinth. After a short walk from the elevator with stairs up an down we found our room. Unfortunately it was not cleaned properly. There was dirt on the carpet and the bath room was not that clean. We decided to call the reception and to make an amendment about the state of the room — after all we became another room. In every room they offer earplugs because of the nearby tramway and nightlife on the square. So if you are sensitive to noise you have to use them… Sadly the room state was not the last thing to criticize. The room service was not at its best. The toilet was left uncleaned and they forget sometimes to shut the doors then they left the room. That is a no-go! If you book this hotel keep in mind that there is talk show almost every day in the hotel bar. Every evening there crowd of guests of that show in the lobby and security personnel is on the entrance from 7 pm.

Nice spacious room, clean and tidy. Little payment problems due to my company at most, but maybe some more clearness while booking could help. Location is superb, Rembrandtplein is awesome, late night TV show recording is a plus.

The truth is that it is a great hotel, clean and very attentive I came with my baby and we have put a great crib the situation is very good these to a step from all advisable 100 by 100

Amsterdam, par excellence small city full of channels which made in the past glory of a fleet of boats dedicated to the trade of long trajectories mooring in front of blessed warehouses. There are still houses with the year of construction marked on the facade and with hooks that by those times they climbed valuable goods.
At the end of Kalverstraat Street is the Munttoren tower, or Munt, as the amsterdameses say. In the Middle Ages it was one of the three main gates of the city that was part of the fortification Regulierspoort. It is located at the crossroads of the end of Kalverstraat with the Singel Canal. Next door is the famous floating market Bloemenmarkt, where they sell flowers. There are few places to eat something typical Dutch due to the opening of numerous bars and restaurants of various nationalities. The Schiller Hotel is an emblematic building with Art Deco decor and impeccable service. With its central location you have everything within reach to visit. Anyway the city is on foot. Here we speak all the languages of the world, predominates the English and unmistakable elegant style of clear eyes, with blaiser and hat of the Dutchman who passes smiling with his bicycle. Without any doubt, a peculiar, beautiful and very kind city, which takes advantage of every ray of sunshine to turn the face towards the sky.

Wonderful location in the heart of Amsterdam. Perfect for walking to many attractions. Very active at Rembrandtplien. One negative is VERY LOUD nightclub just below & adjacent to the hotel, music and loud people till 4a. M… every night, tough to get good nights rest.

Can't say enough about the service, quality of the rooms — absolutely fantastic. Staff went above and beyond helping us find our luggage and rescheduling our transport back to the airport. Buffet breakfast was the best ever. I would highly recommend this hotel.

If you plan to rest in this hotel it is highly discouraged! Located in front of a nightclub and the bar alley. Very small but cosy room.

Great location, close to main attractions and restaurants. Rooms quite decent. Because of lots of bars and clubs around might be too noisy.

Ideal, defect do not speak or understand anything in Spanish at least for the dates we went that was in mid-May 2017

Great location. Friendly helpful staff. Some twin rooms are very small but the one we finally got was huge (think it was 211). It's an old building so the rooms aren't the greatest. No Central AC just the heaters? on the wall under the window. Bathroom also ok. Clean but just ok. However the location is excellent. Would perhaps stay again.

Lovely atmosphere at the hotel. Nice spacy room. Can be quite loud at nights, (lots of bars near by) earplugs are offered to each guest.

This is a nice hotel in one of the best locations possible in Amsterdam. Right on the Rembrandt plein. The staff is very friendly and they have good breakfast buffet. Our room was small but clean and facing away from the square, which made it nice and quiet. There were only two things that I didn't find ideal. The channels on the television were all over the place and not working. And the bed was very firm. Perfect for a person that likes that, but for me it was not ideal.

It's amazing hotel. The staff is friendly, smart and helpful. They e also surprise us with a complimentary sweets and a greeting card for our anniversary. I'm on third floor and the outside noise is not loud or disturb sleep if windows are closed nothing can be heard. The rooms are clean the washroom is clean best price with best service and great location.

Nice Hotel, well located and with professional service and excellent buffet breakfasts. But the rooms are not well cared for: The last time I was there the coat hanger came off the first thing I hung, and the towel rack in the shower has a piece detached from the wall. Also the shower with the awning instead of the glass and the absence of vacuum in the bathroom give the feeling of poor quality.

A great stay right in the middle of City Centre. We had a lovely Room with a view. Always staying there again.

Wonderful hotel situated right in the middle of rembrandt square with trams right outside that leave you to Dam square, Central station etc within minutes. We requested a balcony room and we were given a lovely spacious balcony room that was nicely decorated. The bathroom was a little outdated but was fine for us, shampoo and body wash is provided aswell as a decent hair dryer and makeup mirror which I very much needed. Iron and safe provided and a mini fridge that we used for storing water etc. No air conditioning in the room but a fan is provided which helped and the room was cleaned everyday, free Wi-Fi is provided but is a little slow. Staff were extremely pleasant and friendly and helped us with any queries we had and gave us maps and advice about Amsterdam etc. Continental breakfast was fine and it lasted till half 10/11 on the weekend which was perfect for us as we are late risers. Very noisy outside as its situated on the square but it didnt bother us at all and ear plugs are provided. I would book this hotel again as I was very pleased with my overall stay.

Hotel centrally located and well connected. You don't have air conditioning.

Good hotel nice rooms clean bathroom but there is a few issues. Firstly it's noisy with the rooms overlooking the square but given its right next to it you've got to expect that so take ear plugs as the ones left in the rooms are rubbish. Secondly and more importantly no air conditioning. The room was absolutely roasting and had to open windows which then made the noise louder. We had a fan in the room that was left on overnight that did make a small difference though. All in all a nice hotel friendly staff locally situated but not without faults though.

Central location, very comfortable rooms and the staff at reception very polite, always with the interest to help you in whatever way they can. The room that I had not had a great view and the room seemed a bit dark, outside of that it is recommended.

Everything is close by. Center. The Breakfast is good. The rooms are cleaned every day. The staff is friendly. The room is not very big, but it compensates for the Central location.

The location is excellent. The hotel is quite old and not air-conditioned, if you are caught hot days you will be a fan hehe.

Disappointing OVERBOOKING, our rooms were given to other people. The front desk staff was very attentive with us, they are not to blame for the chain NH in Amsterdam take this policy. Seeing the look of the Hall sure that the photos of the rooms on the web are false or will be rooms newly arranged. A penalty try as well to ex-customers.

The best thing about the hotel is its location — it's very centrally located and it makes for an ideal base to explore Amsterdam, both on foot and by tram. The room (regular w/queen bed) was spacious and the mattress was very nice; however, the bathroom showed its age and there is no air conditioning in the rooms (a fan is actually provided…). The RTL broadcasts a late night show every weekday from the hotel restaurant.

Good hotel for location. If it is true k rooms facing the square are somewhat noisy because of the environment that are in the area, but it is a luxury to have the environment at the door. The breakfast bufet is very good you have a little bit of everything. The rooms are somewhat old but are fine. But I recommend it for location and friendly staff.

I stay here most times I'm fortunate enough to visit this incredible city. I love the location as the square it's situated in is always bustling with people. There is usually an event going on and on the weekend it gets very busy as there are bars and a large club called escape opposite. Don't be put off by the noise especially if you have a rear room. If you have some beans left in you grab the front view top floor room with small balcony. The staff are great and the cafe/bar is old and traditional and it usually hosts TV shows and famous people like Shawn Mendes singing etc. If you want to be in the happening part of Dam stay here.

Good hotel in great location. Clean but with not very new décor. I would give it a star less but for a holiday it's fine. Often there are great offers.

The location is perfect, right on the Rembrandt square next to the Smookey. It is possible that the hotel liked me more by the fact that my visit to Amsterdam was a marvel. Hotel is something old, you need a reform, especially in the bathrooms. Bed, bad. The breakfast I really liked. Was the truth.
