Great location! Walking distance to restaurants, shopping, bars and public transportation.

Decent hotel for the price. Good located in the Middle of Amsterdam. But the language skills of the employers wasn't all that great. Some can't even speak dutch, for a hotel situated in the capital of a dutch speaking country that's weird. Also there was puke in front of out room in the hallway.

One of the nicest hotels in centre of Amsterdam Clean. Great breakfast… great staff. In my opinion this hotel is 5 star… My 7 day day was amazing Looked after my wants and needs to the maximum.

This was (and I repeat) a HORRIBLE experience. From the moment we walked in we weren’t presented with our welcome gift for being Diamond Select, the front desk guy was very condescending while checking us in. When we got to the room, the bathroom was dirty, hair and fingernail clippings on the ground, and I took photos of it documenting my experience. Upon checking out, we were not honored with our late check out benefits (which is fine), but when we said we’d pack up and leave, we were VERBALLY HARASSED to leave the room as quick as possible — including phone threats and threats from the hallway. At one point I felt not only uncomfortable, but UNSAFE when leaving the property. As someone who tried Best Western for the first time after a status match from Starwood, I am not only disappointed, but UPSET at the harassment we received at this hotel. Best Western should be ashamed to have a management team that treats their guests here the way we were.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July during some very hot weather. The hotel was clean and quiet. The staff was outstanding; attentive, cheerful, helpful and showed real interest in us. Thankfully the air conditioner worked well and was controllable by us, allowing us to keep the room cool. This hotel has real character unlike so many "cookie cutter" chains but at the same time maintains a high level of quality.

Great location and the staff is very friendly. Tidiness could be improved though. Good deal considering location and history of building. Would be great if a fridge and microwave were available. Pretty good breakfast. Would probably choose and upscale room to stay here again.

Great location, QQ minutes walk from Amsterdam Centraal station. Direct from the airport by train. Although expensive for one night it's still a reasonable price for Amsterdam center. Fast Wi-Fi connection and breakfast OK. It was a very nice hotel. Good Service.

It is right in the middle of main attractions. Reasonable price and clean rooms. Manager was very nice and he even reduced the price at the last minute for me.

It's at good location very near to the Central station. The room was nice and bathroom was good too. But for the price we paid, there was no refrigerator. It's must for any room, but was missing here. It was too noisy as the night progress. If you want peaceful sleep, better choose some other place. The staff need to be taught, how to behave with customer.

Rooms are okay and location is great! Staff ruined it for us a bit. Rude and arrogant. Tried to reason with them and was shouted at and told to 'leave a Facebook review' — would not recommend because of this and won't be returning.

Best location breakfast is ok but not particularly for that there is right across from the hotel Illy Cafe The mattresses are extremely well located.

Nice room, nice bathroom, perfect location that you can't beat. Service was fantastic by the manager who was always happy to help at any hour and show us where to go if we were unsure. Fast Wi-Fi which is great while travelling. Only thing that let the place down was the options at breakfast. I would most definitely recommend this place.

Amazing location, close to everything including central station. Staff were extremely friendly and offered assistance whenever possible (store baggage, free toothbrush, etc. ) Couldn't recommend more highly, great place to stay.

A good price and a great location in the heart of Amsterdam. The staff are nice and helpful, the room was clean and tidy. There is little else to ask a hotel; Only note: I would have preferred a breakfast with more possibilities.

This is a small hotel situated in a small alley right beside the Niewe Kerk. The room (118) was small but clean and tidy. Small bathroom but also clean and well maintained. Bed is Ok with big pillows. The only negative is that you can hear people taking or shouting in the alley so it can be some disturbance during the night, next time I would choose another room facing another way. The breakfast is Ok, you get everything you need. Big plus for your own coffepot atthe table.

Best Western hotel in great location, it's near Dam Square & close to shopping street & many bars & restaurants.
Rooms are good & clean, staff are very helpful.
Breakfast is open buffet with varieties.
Recommended for city center lovers.

Hotel nothing to say. But the staff: kindness and empathy less than zero. Yet a smile and a salute cost nothing!

The location is great, the staff very friendly. The room was very small and the bathroom was very clean and comfortable. Hair in the bathroom, cleanliness generally left much to be desired. A look under the bed was creepy. The tea bar was not clean and did not invite to use. Very noisy, the whole night operation in front of the room as we had the first in the hallway downstairs…

The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Centraal Station, Dam Square, Red Light District and pretty much every sight worth seeing. The rooms however were unclean and dated with carpets that were fraying at the seams. It was obvious the room had not been cleaned well when I checked in. There was a piece of long black hair on the shower glass door. Houskeeping did not clean the shower or the toilet during my entire 3 night stay. I know because the piece of hair was still on the glass door when I was checking out.

Very well located hotel, in the city center next to Dam Square. Breakfast was ok, although there was not a huge variety. The weakest point was the room service, I expected better cleaning, it was acceptable though. Very friendly staff. Good price/quality ratio, considering you are in the center of Amsterdam.

A good Hotel, however the smell on the corridors, not so good, but the Breakfast is great! The rooms are good and 2 Times a week, these are made clean by the cleaning ladies.

The hotel is in a very good and Central location. Close to all the important places (shops, museums, restaurants and the station). The staff is very polite and kind, Breakfast is very good. Linen and towels are in very good condition. Preferably a little more attention to cleaning, but it's NSLI really really want to find fault. No NS moment did not regret the choice of hotel.

Good stay at this hotel for the day we stayed there. Dutch continental breakfast was good with a wide variety of cold meats, breads, cereals, etc. Historically was the Bols "Liquor factory" and distillery (engraved onto the front of the hotel). Remnants of this can be found in the "Taste House" next door apparently (according to the receptionist) and old black and white photos hanging around the bar area.

BW Dam Square is in an excellent location. Exit the front door, take a left to a main street from which Central Station, and Dam Square, restaurants, and shopping are all within easy walking distance. The hotel is clean, and despite the central location, is quiet.

French receptionist, good breakfast, ideal location but I had in my room a narrow toilet to the point that it was necessary to get out to reach the roll of toilet paper.

The best location right in the heart of the city. Located down a little lane way not accessible by a vehicle but awesome spot. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are perfect size and beds are soft and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Amsterdam!

Once you find it. Because it is on a small narrow street it has the best location in Amsterdam and the price is good rooms are good friendly staff plus you get a free breakfast with a large variety of dishes for a free breakfast. Can't think of anything I did not like.

VERY hard to find a good hotel in AMS without spending a fortune. best western is in a decent location near DAM SQ had a room with an alley "view" have stayed at NH barbizon and NH krasnapolsky previously i would rate them as follows 1. ) NH krasnapolsky 2. ) best western dam sq 3. ) NH barbizon.

In many ways a nice hotel with a very good location. Breakfast is OK. The room was clean when we got here, but the daily cleaning is very superficial. They don't even clean the toilet every day.

Bad experience at Best Western Dam Square Inn, Amsterdam Bad service, bad attitude, bad quality! I used to love this hotel, but I will never come here again. The cleaning lady broke my laptop, denied it and then the manager blamed me for leaving my laptop on the room's carpet. So I wouldn't go there if you plan to leave valuable belongings in places where the hotel thinks it is ok to break them. Of course, no compensation for my broken laptop was offered. I used to go there a lot and it really saddens me to be treated this way. Best Western Dam Square Inn in Amsterdam deletes complaints from their Facebook page. Just so you know. They broke my laptop and won't own up to it.

The Hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Amsterdam. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the breakfast pretty well. Everything is within reach and even distant places can be easily reached via tram (Rijksmuseum via Lines 2, 5), which is just a walk away. I would always recommend this Hotel, if I had to recommend any Hotel in Amsterdam.
