Amsterdam Hostel Orfeo Hostel

Met so many beautyful ppl in Orfeo really made my visit to Amsterdam worthy! And the staff was really nice to me, too! So happy I ended up staying there. And super grateful! I stayd in a dorm in the 3. Th floor, the room is just basic, not the cleanest or fanciest but just enough for budjet travellers. You can use the kitchen to prepare ur own food. And since the very central location ofc the street is not the most quiet one but its so close to everything that u cant expect there wouldn't be any noise. Thank you for all Orfeo and I definetly have to come back someday! ☀️

Really small rooms, smaller bathroom & even smaller stairs :D but people are nice to you. Breakfast is free till 9.30 which includes just bread & jam & coffee. Not much of cleanliness, but it's okay if you just want to crash for the night.

Expensive considering what you get. Beds are short and uncomfortable. Rooms for 10 have only one bathroom and they offer no decent breakfast.

Small rooms, small and dangerous stairs. The People is kind and breakfast is good. Overall not a very good experience but it is acceptable.

The hostel wasn't as bad as many reviewers had said it was. I gave it three stars, because the bed was awful! It might not necessarily be bad for others; but the bed cannot accommodate anybody 6ft. Tall or 180cm. But, if you're under 180cm, book the 6 person room with en suite restroom; other rooms have noise problems or the toilet is in the corridor. Good Luck!

The place has a nice location, I had horrible experience with this place. Let’s start from the beginning. You need to provide your credit card information to book it. But they are going ask cash when you arrive. Because the card is required so they can take a money for the damage if it happens. That way they save money on online fees, an expense for the customer for their fee evasion. Their breakfast is just slices of toast bread and jars of peanut butter, chocolate paste, jam on the table, with cheap coffee and tea. Nothing for gluten intolerant people. Their rooms lack of cleaning and ventilation. For the money you pay there you can get more quality in a similar location. I would not recommend it to anyone. Don’t support such bad business.

In my 10 Bed Thorn on the top Floor it stank as if one Had been lying next to a Dixi Klo And Loud Outside Noises penetrated into the Room but what would you also ask for 13.70

We will not go there by four paths: it was the worst hotel of my life and hotels I made a package. It is dirty, smelly, the duvets do not even have a cover (seriously hygiene…). The whole thing is dilapidated and do not even count on the "breakfast included" that only serves to deceive the customers! This is the first price industrial bread with jars of jam to share with others and coffee so acidic that I am willing to bet that it warm the same thermos every day. That is it. And it's not even exaggerated. Ah if one can add an odious Manager, a disproportionate price (€86 per night in a dormitory 10 places), a cash payment only (! ) and no safe or storage for your business. I preferred to sleep outside on my 2nd night yet paid and booked in this hotel. Here I think that's it.

For a Hostel, it's okay! Cosy Beds, bright Rooms and, by and large, clean. It's clairvoyant, of course, So Ohropax are attached!
In addition, you should be able to climb a bit, because the Beds are 3-storey.
The WC's ARE very small. It Is best to use this on the Ground floor.
Large unwieldy Suitcases should be dispensed with if possible, as the Stairs are very steep.
The Reception is open 24 Hours a day and there is always someone's Answer.
For a few Nights in any case, a Solution if you don't want to spend a Fortune on Sleeping.

Perfect location in the city centre. Staff kind, good free breakfast with coffee and tea and slice of bread with chocolate cream, jam and peanut butter. Wi-Fi wasn't working and in the room shower and toilet are not divided, so who is having a shower occupies the toilet and you have to wait longer time. The room was quiet and clean.

Excuse me, suitable budget accommodation? Really? I mean, 60€ per person per night (so 120€ altogether with my friend) just for an awful room without any table or chair or some little wardrobe? When you need to pee, you must be reaally thin, in other case you just cannot fit in the room with toilet. Then, some cleaning also could be done sometimes. Your stairs are quite dangerous, and so are yours double beds without any protection. Windows are not so functional, we felt cold air from outside and also heard a noise from the street. And finally — breakfast. The reason why we went there. Thanksgod we arent a diabetics, cause otherwise we couldnt eat here, the whole breakfast consists of a toast bread with choco cream or peanut butter or strawberry jam. I gave you two stars — one for great location and one for very kind and nice staff.
Please either stop being SO overpriced or start get better for your guests.

It was a very nice place to visit the city centre. The average room, the shared bathroom was very small. Bad Breakfast.

Very nice place for low budget in the center of Amsterdam. Very friendly and helpfull customer service. For sure if I visit A'dam again, I'll stay here. Peace^^

Reception and staff are super friendly & helpful here. Location and pricing are awesome, really close to restaurants, nightlife venues, and shopping. Our room was newly renovated and had really cool original wood beams that gave it a rustic feel, cozy and comfortable! Wi-Fi was a bit spotty tho and the rooms don't have lockers so that's something to keep in mind when booking. Overall decent experience!

Location is really good. And facilities are normal. And I think price is reasonable.

Avoided for the price there is much better tiny room impossible to breathe properly and the room was not even cleaned has our arrive dirty sheet etc I am very disappointed for €96

Very nice place. On the other hand no heating, qd il ft — 2, it stings… The disgusting, stained, not washed sheets.

It's one of the best hostels, friendly atmosphere, nice and clean room's.

A crappy hostel, it's a complete and total robbery. The rooms are 2 MT long by 1.5 wide. The public bath is a total disgusting, it is preferable to bathe in the river. To go up to the upper floors you must do it by a very muuuuuuuy narrow staircase, that sure if you go with luggage will be a problem to reach the room. The beds are horrible, small, unadjusted. The only positive thing about this row of hostel is the location. But don't be fooled by that. Since in the same area there are better and more economical places to stay. If you can stay away from this horrible hostel… Unclean.

What a nasty place, prices too high for that filthy pigsty, the bathrooms are crap, the walls have not painted them in years and in general it is very unpleasant.

Horrible place, the staff just bursted in the room anytime they wanted, the reception was rude and uninviting all the time. They even denied me a piece of bread a little bit after the breakfast time when on the other hand they just leave the thermos with coffee and tea all day on the counter, when they're supposed to clean it off after breakfast, yet still everyone else can enjoy anything. They have just been plaim aggressive with me thought the whole stay. Never come here.

Dark and dirty room, very poor breakfast (coffee, bread and jam).
At the time of departure, we gave them our luggage (against 3 €/bag! ) so as not to be crowded for our last visit to Amsterdam, and returning in the evening, the hotel had lost 1 luggage on 2!
Only compensation, they paid the taxi so I could take my bus and go back to France (hands in pockets…)

Everything good. Nothing fancy but really good price. Breakfast is bread with jam, pb and chocolate cream + tea/coffee.

The perfect place for people looking for a comfortable bed. Its position in the Red District makes it really easy to visit the center and the staff is amazing :-)

Hot water, 2 days out of 3. Water in general, 2 days out of 3. Single bed with multiple man. Bring a cloth for the spider webs. Bring a mirror. Bring extra slippers as yours will be stepped on by construction workers. Construction work is on the weekends (morning). Reception guys are friendly though.

It's bear bones to the core. No air-conditioning. Faulty showers was a problem if you stayed more than a night. However friendly staff and clean toilets, where a redeeming feature. The location cant be beaten. It's pricey for what it is.

For a low budget nice enough, though it lacks in basic hygene. The matresses propably haven't been replaced since the 80's … The staff is really friendly and helpful. Never the less I wouldn't go there again.

The worst hostel i've seen in my life. So much expensive (1400€ for 8 peoples in a 10 people room with one bathroom and only 1 window. Bathroom was dirty like the bed (if we can call this a bed). I went to Dam 5 times and I ve never had a bad surprise like that… should be forbidden to rent a room like this.

Beds are alright, they have pieces of a bathroom and a excellent Wi-Fi; that's enough for me, but you shouldn't expect for much more.

Rooms are dirty and breakfast is very poor! Also the price is high for that quality, we can get much better and cheaper. Maybe it's just for it's location which is perfectly in Amsterdam city center and near transportation.

It is a wonderful city… Great in your organization, your quality of life, your public transportation service. I would come back many times.

We sleep well it's relatively clean but small enough. No locker or lamp. Medium Breakfast.

First, the worst point I think about this hostel is…
No locker in the room!
This is a fatal point for residents!
All residents have to put their baggage just under the bed. … Second, the room isn't clean!
I wonder the staff do not clean up every day. Third, it's very hard for old people to go upstairs because steep stairs continues until fourth floor, as for me. But staff is kind person and give me a good information against my question or request!
So I evaluate 2^^

Don't go there! This was the worst hostel I have ever been. First of all they wanted cheat us on 50€ when they made a bill. Then we saw the room (I'm not sure if I can call this room, because it was like a cowshed). Very dirty and small place. The staff was very unpleasant. If you like to spend nice time in Amsterdam, DON't GO THERE.

Yep, it was not as clean as I would have liked and did not dispel the reputation Amsterdam hostels have (i. E. Being dirty and dodgy, oh and with added drugs), but I can't really complain otherwise. It will be a guest house for me next time.

Very dirty und uncomfortable rooms, too expensive at weekends. Just one tiny toilet and one shower per floor. The worst hostel i've ever been.

Good experience. Perfect if you're looking for something cheaper simply to sleep indoors. €10 breakfast inlucluido. A bargain.

I found this hostel to be excellent for the price and no where near as bad as others have previously described. Friendly helpful staff, they helped me find musuems and shops. Will come back.

THE WORST HOSTEL I'VE EVER BEEN! We went 6 people and we paid like we were in a 5 stars hotel. And this hostel is just horrible. Dirty, the rooms are horrible and small, the breakfast is the worst i've ever eaten in a hostel and I've never paid so much for a 6 beds room in my life. I'm an experienced traveller and I can tell you I've never been in such a shit like that. And the service is even worse. Since one week before the problems begun with the stuff. We wanted to cancel two beds one week in advance, and after we were cheated with the price, the staff didn't solve the cancellation. And with such an extortionate price, we didn't have toilet paper in the room and no towels (they rent the towels). The stuff was rude since the first day. You feel they are cheating in your face. And finally they don't want to prepare us the company bill we need. Seriously, don't go to this place or they will continue cheating the travellers. This kind of places should close forever.

Been there for a few dayz. You have kitchen to use and Wi-Fi mostly only there too, bed with clean sheets, shower depends to which room you're staying, near hostel located loud rock'n'roll bar, almost every night you have live bands blasting their speakers into your window) ) Almost all of dudes (Janis, Anhel etc. ) who works there are pretty cool guys. ).

Cramped, noisy, and the shower was so dirty that I skipped that day. The free 'breakfast' was cheap sandwich bread with jelly and coffe or tea.

Very very very bad! This place is a dirty, uncomfortable, noisy SCAM! They made us clear that prices were actually doubled due to overbooking. A mean trick! One piece of advice: Stay away from here. Bad taste and bad karma house here. seriously. We found puke in the shower. stay away from here.

Tiny, dark and oppressive room (fluorescent green walls).
The outlets were not working, the sink in the room was spreading a gutter odor and the Wi-Fi didn't work the first night.
However the location is ideal.
13euros for such a mediocre service is excessive.
