Youth Hostel The Hague Hostel

Good location, clean, good price. Recommended.

My room was on the 2nd floor and I only had to carry 1 cabin-sized luggage but the steep, narrow stairs were quite a challenge — you really can't stay here if you have a huge luggage with you. Comfy bed but the room itself is quite basic, with no hangers or a bedside lamp… The toilet and shower on the floor were also shared between 4 rooms — probably inadequate if there's a full house. What's great: the prime location, chirpy staff, and the fast Wi-Fi. And just in case you're wondering — no, the free beer is not a lie, but you have to ask for it.

Located very close to the city center. Many restuarants and shopping places in the vicinity. Hostel has a bar downstairs that also acts as reception. The receptionists were nice and polite. It gives a beer as a welcome drink. The rooms are small and ok. Toilets are clean but very small and congested. So are the shower area. Two showers per floor and every floor has 3 rooms (my room has 6 beds but others may have different count). There is a scope of improvements though.

A great place to stay! No matter what you are looking for in den haag, you will find it right around the corner of this hostel. The rooms are homely furnished and the staff is always ready to help. I highly recommend this hostel.

This is the kind of review I hate giving. Five stars. You see it is against my nature to blow the truth out about such a little gem as this but the staff and owners there are just so nice that you have to fess up at the risk of the place becoming too popular. It's a hostel. Bedrooms are cheap but well ordered and clean. The decor is simpatico without blaring into your morning hangover. Showers are great with plenty of hot water and all the basic needs supplied. The clientele were a lovely mixture of people coming at you from all angles but in a happy spirit which coould ponly have been engendered by a great environment. Bar with music is available downstairs and one of the best breakfasts for the money in town is to be had until lunchtime. All this and just ten minutes walk to the railway station, Chinatown a ball's throw away and the Mauritshuis less than a quarter of an hour away through modern shopping streets. Recommend thoroughly.

Amazing location! Amazing staff (especially Merryn)! Perfectly adequate room size and spotless toilets/bathrooms. Highly recommend it. PS You have to try their waffles.

Good place to sleep. The bar downstair is cool and we loved the bartender!

Very charming little hostel. We arrived Sunday and we were lucky to experience a jazz night in the hostel bar. Friendly staff, clean room with everything needed.

I have a really strong feeling that one of the girls who works there stole my purse. I had it on me when I arrived after a night out. I couldn't find it when I checked out. Searched all of my belongings & couldn't find it even though I went back twice to ask if they found it. It's a nice hostel but a hunch is a hunch & I trust my gut on this. It's always a pitty when you have something as important as a purse stolen from you by a person who has "more" than you.

Nice, cheap dorms in a good location. The bar is great, there was a live jazz band playing that night and they have a very good selection of beers.

Literally the best life choice I've ever made to work here. Too much to say in too few words.

A just great hostel!
It is the only hostel in the city centre of the Hague (to Mark Grote) and yet in a quiet street. I stayed there for several weeks, I've loved the atmosphere with their bar Gekke Geit and Arie mascot, the cutest dog of the owner.
It seems to me that this is the hostel the cheapest I've found with the included breakfast!
Dorm rooms are simple but clean and there is a small very practical kitchen.
I loved the people, the atmosphere, I have met people in the four corners of the world at the hostel bar.
I highly recommend it.

Great hostel with perfect location.

10 stars out of 5 ;) this hostel is the best hostel you could wish to stay in! I stayed for two nights, and I do not have one complaint! The staff are so friendly, nothing is a problem, tell you the best places to go and anything you need they will help you out with. Free printing, breakfast (with hagel slag — chocolate sprinkles) included with a smile :-) and an awesome bar (check out the posters! ) with great (. Or rather crazy. ) staff and plenty of monkey nuts. The hostel has been designed to a very standard and specification. Showers are hot, powerful and clean. There's even old Russian wooden transfer boxes to put your stuff in! Amazing! Location is perfect — a little walk from the station, but right on the market square and handy for all the bars and shops :-) Den Haag is the place to be! Forget Amsterdam and stay here.

A great place to stay. It just opened yesterday! Everything is new and extremely clean. The breakfast is cool — especially I liked two guys who cooked it (don't remember their names). They are very friendly and helpful! The location is perfect. Just in the City center, 6 minutes from the railway station.

Had a great time in the hague! The hostel bar "de gekke geit" had some great beer on the tap, Lam! I was one of the first to sleep in this hostel, it was clean, cosy and not too expensive. I highly recommend this place! Thanks.
